Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **A generous supporter has covered Robot's adoption fee to help him find a loving home.**   Nice to meet you! I'm Robot. While I can't hear, I use my eyes and nose to explore my surroundings. I find it really calming just to sit and watch my yard. My foster mom thinks it's really funny that she can see me thinking and processing my thoughts. Sometimes I just look at stuff and go "hmmm?" I once quietly and sweetly observed a wooly bear caterpillar crossing the sidewalk. I'm an absolute sweetheart who loves toys and chewing things, check out  how gentle I am with stuffed toys.  I also can be a bit clingy, always wanting to follow my foster mom around -- I just love people so much!  I am gentle and inquisitive while observing my foster's rats from my crate, and I do well with the cats that I have met so far. While I've been a little shy when I've met a couple of big dogs, I have been interested in playing with smaller dogs!  I don't love it when my food or toys are touched without permission so other animals and people in the home will have to respect that. What can I say, I'm not a great sharer.  I have to be honest with you, I'm not so good at potty training yet! I have an illness that causes me to go potty more than normal and now that it's under control I'm still working on keeping my kennel clean and always making it outside! My foster mom lets me out every 4-6 hours during the day. I will also require medication for the rest of my life and check-ups at the vet every 6 months.  My foster mom can explain more about my needs, but the cost of my medicine would be 40-50 dollars a month.   If you're curious about things you need to consider when bringing in a deaf dog to your household, check out DeafDogsRock.com.     Having a deaf dog with medical needs like me will require a little extra effort and patience, but I promise you I'm worth it!    Robot is from a Local Impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, potential paw-rent! I'm on the hunt for my very own home, one filled with laps, toys, and treats galore. From day one with my foster mom, I've made my aspirations clear—I want to be a lap dog when I grow up, and I've been diligently practicing that art all day long.  I thrive on closeness to my humans and may be a little sad if we're apart for too long. When we venture out for walks, I'm a well-behaved companion, gradually improving my leash-walking skills—though I admit, sometimes I try to take the lead.  During bedtime, I'm the picture of serenity. I snooze quietly in my crate right beside my foster mom's bed. I do make a brief, endearing attempt to join her in bed, but after a short while, I settle down for the night. For bathroom breaks, my foster mom ensures I get out every 2 or 3 hours during the day, and I never fail to do my business. I'm working on signaling when nature calls, but she's got a keen eye on me. I've had a few hiccups with accidents indoors, but I'm a fast learner and already understand commands like "come," "sit," and "no." My foster mom insists I'm a bright pup, and I can't argue with her on that. From the perspective of my foster mom: This pup is pure personality, overflowing with a desire to be everyone's best buddy. It takes just 20 seconds to become fast friends with him. He's a bundle of energy and may get a bit jumpy, so he might not be the best fit for very small children. When he gets a little mouthy, a redirect to a toy does the trick. Cuddles are his forte, and he adores napping with his head in your lap. However, he does have his playful moments, just like any other pup. This guy is a real hoot, always keeping me in stitches with his antics. Sir Freckles' top pastimes include hunting crickets and enjoying outdoor adventures like camping. If you're looking for a furry friend with oodles of charm and the potential to be the best companion ever, I'm your pup!  Click here to see a fun video of Sir Freckles playing! Story
Beau has been with my parents for 6 years as a single dog/animal home. He is a loving, loyal, and playful boy. He has anxiety/high energy that my parents are not able to care for. He would do well with someone with space and time to play with/walk him often. He has grown very protective of my father, and now separation anxiety that has led to destructive behavior when left alone, and my parents are unable to give him the training and support he needs to address this. He has been around the grandchildren (ages 1-4) and ranges to fine/indifferent to at times protective (rushing to their side when crying and a parent approaches) but has never bitten anyone. If the kids run to my dad, Beau will again rush to his side. So in that regards it appears mixed on his behavior around children so I want to be upfront on that. He was rescued 6 years ago, with a note saying he does not get along with cat. He is good with other dogs, particularly other big dogs. Fine off leash at dogparks.

Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.
