Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Nikki, a delightful and energetic puppy with a heart full of love! Originally from the Pine Ridge Reservation, Nikki spent several weeks in veterinary boarding before arriving at her current foster home. Her foster family absolutely adores her, describing her as the perfect mix of playful puppy energy, undeniable cuteness, and a love for snuggling with both adults and children alike. Though Nikki is on the smaller side, don’t let her size fool you – she can run like the wind! Nikki would thrive in a family that enjoys walks and outdoor adventures. She is great with other dogs of all sizes, happily engaging in playtime, and is very gentle with the resident cats. In fact, most of the time she doesn’t even notice them, but when she does, she greets them with sweet kisses and a calm, gentle approach. Nikki is very perceptive of other dogs' cues, understanding when it’s time to relax. When playtime winds down, she happily entertains herself with toys, chews on a bone, or curls up for a cuddle session. A cozy blanket or spot on the couch is also her idea of a perfect rest. Though Nikki is kenneled at night, she settles in quickly after a brief whimper and sleeps soundly through the night. As a typical puppy, Nikki is still perfecting her manners. She’s learning to potty outside and is working on not jumping up when she gets excited (which is often, because she just loves you so much!). Nikki is highly treat-motivated, so with positive reinforcement, she is sure to continue making great strides in her training. If you're looking for a sweet, playful companion who is ready to become a cherished part of your family, Nikki may be the perfect fit for you!   Nikki is from a local reservation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Bonnaroo! This handsome fella needs a strong, gentle pack leader who will not allow him to be in charge.  Yes he is a big boy and can be a bit overwhelming to some but when he knows you are the boss because you guide him to do the right thing, he is all yes ma’am, yes sir.  He will need continued training and yes, we have a trainer already set up to work with him.  We just need a adopter who is willing to put in the time for socialization and training.  He will thrive in an environment that has boundaries and expectations for him to follow. He is true to his people and although needs a minute to be ok with strangers, once he is comfortable, he is all snuggles and happy wiggles. He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.  Right now he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  He can be around other dogs, but is a bit awkward and wants to show them he is the boss.  Yes, the trainer will help with that.   Look at that face…. Won’t you help Bonnaroo be all he can be??   If you have filled out an application please just email adoptionatmars@gmail.com   If you are a previous foster please email fosteratmars@gmail.com   Let's get this big guy home!!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hello, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Alicia and I’m estimated to be a 1-year-old Catahoula leopard dog mix. I weigh 39 pounds. I have the same name as my foster mom so my foster parents call me Aurora. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and boy am I happy to be free! My foster parents say I’m just about the sweetest girl ever. I love meeting new people and giving them kisses. I’m gentle, affectionate, and appreciative. I haven’t met any kids in my foster home but I’m sure I’d love a human kiddo to play with! Sometimes I jump up to give hugs so you would need to watch me with littles, that way I don’t accidentally knock them over. I have met many dogs and loved them all! I currently live with a 60lb and a 70lb dog. I like to play for short bursts and can entertain myself if my furry friends aren’t feeling active. I’ve had a small amount of exposure to cats and did just fine with them. My foster parents are impressed with my training so far! I like to lay in the kennel for naps and don’t mind sleeping in there at night. If I’m in a playful mood and have to be kenneled when you leave the house, I may bark for a little bit. Shared walls aren’t best for me right now just to be safe. My foster parents let me sleep in bed with them and I don’t make a peep all night. I am potty trained! I did have accidents when I first joined my foster home, so my adopter should expect that I’ll have a few accidents as I get acclimated to a new routine. My foster mom says I am such an easy girl to walk on leash! Going on walks is a lot of fun and I especially like looking at the squirrels. In new environments, I don’t always know what I’m allowed to chew on. Sometimes I’ll grab something I shouldn’t, but I redirect to a toy very easily. Did I mention that I love toys? Stuffed animals are my favorite thing to chew on! I’m an easy girl to love with my honey eyes and gentle soul. I can’t wait to find my forever home!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 14, 2025, 4:29 pm

Story
Grace was surrendered to us due to her owner's health. A friend took her in, but discovered she doesn't do well with other dogs and is aggressive towards cats. She has unique features, and luckily her previous owner had a DNA test done! We would never have guessed, but her most dominant breeds are Catahoula leopard dog and pit bull. Grace is a very sweet girl who loves to play and can get very silly when she's in the right mood!  If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application.  Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts.  Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-application/January 8, 2025, 2:08 pm

Story
Bleu is listed on our web site as a courtesy post for his current owner. He is not part of Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary, but we are helping his owner find him a new home. Please contact Jeanne at jeannekvam@yahoo.com  or call her at  612-280-3859   to find out more about Bleu. The following is written by Bleau's owner: Bleu is approximately 3 years and 8 months of age. He is very good with young children and learns to leave cats alone. He is energetic and loves to do 360 degree flips. He has been to training, and he knows many commands: off, stay, sit, drop, wait, spin,  come and more. He also knows hand signals. He  uses a training collar that sends impulses not shocks. The trainer said he is probably part Catahoula Leopard with one blue and one brown eye. He is loving and stays out of trouble for the most part. If left alone for a while he kennels very well. He has a big heart and came from a very bad situation. I have had him for 3 years. The issue is that he does not get a long with my resident Blue Tick Coon Hound. Otherwise I would keep him. He would do best with room to run. When he has gotten out of my yard he has always come back if in ear shot and called. He loves car rides. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 12:12 am
