Story
Location: Ramsey, MN Meet Bourbon! He is not just a pretty face! (Although 😍). He is a happy, curious, confident, and social puppy with a real zest for life. Bourbon came into rescue from a SD reservation. He had a rough start in life, but he’s feeling much better now and is ready to put that behind him. These days, he’s focused on being a puppy… playing, learning, and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He is starting to work on all of the puppy basics, including house training, manners, and all the skills that will help him grow into a wonderful companion. He is smart and highly food motivated which means he’ll have a good start on the basics and could eventually even do things like agility or dock diving. His friendly nature, resilient spirit, and love for people make Bourbon a match for anyone looking to add a little joy and laughter in their home. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Maryann has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. All she needs now is a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. She is in TN but one of our donors has sponsored her so the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Cheeto Dust is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull mix with a joyful spirit, a whole lot of wiggle, and an endless supply of love. This affectionate, goofy pup brings sunshine into every room — when he gets excited, his whole body wiggles, and it’s impossible not to smile. He absolutely loves to snuggle and is happiest curled up close with his people after a day of play. Cheeto is a smart, eager-to-please boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and go potty. He’s potty trained to go outside and does very well on a routine, though he may have occasional accidents in a few familiar spots as he continues to learn. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night, and thrives with consistency and continued guidance. During the day, Cheeto is playful, curious, and full of energy. He loves balls, squeaky toys, and any kind of playtime — especially with other dogs off leash, where he truly shines. He does great in the yard, but his adventurous side means he can climb shorter fences or baby gates and will take the opportunity to explore if a gate is left open, so a secure setup and attentive supervision are important. On leash, Cheeto is still learning his manners. He can pull and may bark or growl at other dogs, so continued leash work and obedience training will be key to helping him feel more confident and relaxed. With proper introductions and the right match, he enjoys canine companionship, especially with playful, easygoing dogs. Cheeto is currently living with children and has done best with older kids. While he is very loving, he can become overstimulated and has nipped at younger children to get attention. He also has natural herding tendencies and a high energy level, so he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and can interact with him appropriately. He’s a funny, spirited pup who likes to “help” around the house — especially when it comes to vacuuming and sweeping (his version of helping involves barking at the vacuum and broom). Cheeto is friendly with adults, rides well in the car, and forms strong, affectionate bonds with his people. Cheeto Dust is a loving, energetic, and intelligent pup who will thrive with a family committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. With patience, consistency, and plenty of play and snuggles, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
Hi, my name is Chelsea and I am from Texas! Hi! My name is Chelsea and my foster mom and dad say that out of their 50 fosters, I may just be the sweetest one yet… I currently live with 5 other pups, big and small, young and old, and do wonderfully with them all! I LOVE humans of all ages (especially my 2 year old foster sister), have the most gorgeous blue eyes, and want nothing more than to be your best friend, but those aren’t the only things that make me special! I became paralyzed in my back half after humans were unkind to me, but I don’t let that slow me down! I’m strong enough to pull my legs up behind me so I can run, play, and wrestle all day- but, with that being said, there are some things you should know about me- although I’m quite mobile, I will be coming with a nice set of wheels! At my young age, I won’t need them all the time, but because of the way I move, they’re very necessary as I grow older to help prevent further damage to my legs, feet, and spine. Because of my condition, as well as having a cart (wheels), a home without a lot of stairs and an easily accessible back yard are very important too. I’m very independent and love to explore, play with lots of toys, and soak up the sun any chance I get! You should also know I don’t have full control of my bladder/bowels, but I get to go to work with mom every day and do wonderfully on a potty schedule! My body does go potty on its own, but my foster mom will also show you how to express my bladder/bowels in the rare case I have not gone in a few hours (don’t worry, she just learned too and says it’s easy as can be). I do well in a kennel if I have to, but a family that has to leave me for 8 hours a day will not be the home for me- Right now, mom and dad don’t leave me for more than a couple hours at a time because that’s what is best for my needs. My forever family needs to understand that my current condition and needs will never change- My legs and spine will not improve, and I’ll never gain full control of my bladder/bowels. However, I’m 1,000% worth it. I’m an angel in the car, love to snuggle, am so unbelievably gentle, and love everything about this new life of mine! I promise I’ll repay all of your love and care with lots and lots of kisses! Ideally, my forever home will have another dog (s) that loves to play so I can maintain my strength and mobility, is willing to bring me on all of their adventures, and can spend most of their time with me (oh, and kiddos are a plus!)- can’t wait to meet you! From the Vet: Meet Chelsea! A resilient soul ready for her forever home. Despite being partially paralyzed, Chelsea has an undampened spirit and a heart full of affection. The Bond Between has provided Chelsea with extensive diagnostic and supportive care to ensure she thrives. She underwent an MRI to map her condition and will be going to regular water treadmill therapy to build strength. To maximize her independence, Chelsea is getting her very own custom wheelchair! These new wheels will allow her to run and play safely. They will also eliminate the mobility-related wounds she previously battled. Chelsea does not always have complete control of her bladder and bowels. However, she does beautifully when given a consistent routine. When provided with frequent, regular opportunities to go potty outside, she can successfully do her business outdoors! Our goal is to give Chelsea a life of dignity, grace, and proper assistance. She requires extra TLC, but she returns it tenfold in loyalty. Chelsea needs a dedicated adopter ready to walk alongside her through life's adventures.

Hi, my name is Beetroot! Meet the sweetest little girl ever. This puppy has completely stolen our hearts. She’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and already showing so much potential at such a young age. She absolutely loves my dog and gains so much confidence from having another pup around to learn from. She’s also wonderful with kids and has such a gentle, loving personality. We’re currently working on crate training, and while she’s not fully crate trained yet, she’s already making great progress. Potty training is going surprisingly well too. She’s catching on so quickly and is so eager to learn. She’s also starting to learn how to walk on a leash and improves every day. She’s adorable, smart, playful, cuddly, and truly such a special girl. I know she’s going to make an amazing addition to someone’s family.

Story
I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Fetch and chase games are my favorite . I am adoptable in Texas, I need to meet my family and you need to meet me! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
