Story
Rue is a gentle, 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a heart as soft as her silky ears. Weighing just 15 pounds, this petite girl may have come from a difficult past in a puppy mill, but she’s embracing her new life with quiet sweetness and trust.
Rue absolutely loves people—everyone she meets is a new friend. Her favorite place in the world is curled up in someone’s lap, soaking up affection. She’s a low-energy companion who would be happiest in a calm home where she can relax, cuddle, and feel safe.
She’s currently working on potty training and is making steady progress. Most of her accidents happen on puppy pads, especially since she’s still a bit unsure about being outside. With patience, consistency, and encouragement, Rue will continue to build confidence and improve.
Rue is a quiet little soul who rarely barks. While she enjoys small pieces of chicken as a treat, she’s much more motivated by love and attention than food. Kind words, gentle pets, and a cozy lap are her biggest rewards.
Rue is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the security and affection she deserves. In return, she’ll offer quiet companionship, unconditional love, and endless snuggles.
Could Rue be your perfect little shadow?
Rue is fostered in Cincinnati, OH. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
