Story
Dixie is a seven year four month old female cavapoo dog. We got her and her sister Scout from a breeder. She has proven to be one of the sweetest dogs for my four children. It is just come to our attention that she and her sister need to be separated. This completely breaks our heart as she is part of our family, but we know if she has a chance to be happier. We will do whatever it takes. Dixie is one of the sweetest, snuggliest dogs you will meet. She loves to play fetch and lay in the sun and go for car rides with her head out the window. She is very docile and will roll to her back and let you scratch her tummy whenever you want. We are only considering serious inquiries for those that will take care of her and love her as much as possible.

Story
Scout is a seven year and four month old cavapoo female dog. We got her and her sister from a breeder, and they have proven to be some of the best dogs for my four kids. It has only recently come to our attention that Scout and her sister Dixie need to be separated. This breaks our hearts as they are part of our family. But knowing what will make them happier is what we’re willing to do. Scout is exceptionally sweet. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the couch and snuggle, or bask in the sun or go for car rides with her head out the window. She is always so docile and rolls to her back so you can scratch her belly whenever you want. She has beautiful white markings on her chest and her paws and her face that make her adorable. We are only considering serious inquiries of people who plan to take care of her and love on her as much as possible.

Story
Meet Endora – A Gentle Girl with a Love for Soft Things 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Endora is a little lady learning what it's like to live in freedom after spending her early life in a puppy mill. She’s shy at first, but once she warms up, she politely asks for affection and enjoys quiet companionship. Her foster has established a mealtime routine that works perfectly for her—when she hears the call, Endora happily runs upstairs to the bedroom where her bowl is placed just inside the door. This quiet, uninterrupted space is where she feels most comfortable eating. She has a healthy appetite, is a good eater, and is currently on Puppy Fromm. She eats twice a day, with a little extra to support her growing puppy needs. Endora is a big fan of soft comforts—she loves her open-door kennel filled with fluffy blankets and can often be found lounging in cozy dog beds. After spending her early life on a hard kennel floor, she’s finally learning what comfort feels like. She gets along well with other dogs and is watching them closely to learn how to play and enjoy toys. With a little more time and encouragement, she’ll be joining in on the fun! 📝 Requirements: Secure physical fenced yard Another young, confident dog in the home No children under 12 Mill dogs like Endora are under-socialized and easily startled by things we take for granted—leashes, television sounds, garbage trucks, kitchen appliances, etc. She will need a patient and understanding home willing to help her continue adjusting at her own pace. 🐾 Endora is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. 💲 Adoption fee: $500 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Please Note: Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run rescue. Application processing takes 7–10 business days depending on our availability and your references. All dogs are in foster homes—there is no central facility. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an approved application. We do not ship or transport. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location, and all family members and current pets must be present. Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Puppies, in particular, may live 15+ years. If you're not prepared to commit to that, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where someone is frequently home, can provide proper training and socialization, and keep up with their energy and needs.

Story
Meet Jenga! Location: Troy, MO Jenga is a 2-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel whose gentle soul tells the story of her past. Though she’s still young, the signs of her puppy-mill background are clear, but so is her incredible sweetness and capacity for love. Jenga is especially comfortable with women and can be shy around men, likely reflecting past experiences. If approached while standing, she may cower or “pancake” to the floor. When you’re seated, however, she happily seeks affection. She will gently paw at her foster mom’s leg to ask for pets and then soak up all the attention she’s given. Belly rubs are a favorite, and she will often roll right over to ask for more. She loves being close to her people and is happiest simply sharing the same space. Whether curled up in a cozy bed for nap time or following foster mom from room to room, Jenga is a true companion. At night, she goes straight to her comfy bed in the bedroom, settling in on foster mom’s side of the room to sleep peacefully. Jenga gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from having a confident canine companion to help her continue building confidence. She has a funny little quirk and prefers that Ruby Cavaliers respect her personal “safe spot,” though other dogs don’t seem to bother her. She completely ignores cats. She does not like being alone and if separated by a gate, she may paw or scratch gently for attention or simply curl up and wait until foster mom returns. She is a good eater and enjoys Fromm 4 Star nutrition, Rawbble, crunchy treats, and daily cardio chews. She is on Heartgard Plus and is learning to enjoy toys, especially chew toys. Her Adoption Fee is $400. She is up to date on all vaccines and vetting. Recently has had her spay surgery and dental cleaning, so when recovered she will be ready to look for her forever home. Doorways are still a challenge for Jenga, and she may sometimes need to be carried outside for potty breaks. With reassurance, praise, and the example of other dogs, she continues to make progress every day. Jenga is blossoming into a loving little “Velcro dog.” If you are looking for a devoted shadow and don’t mind sharing your personal bubble, Jenga might just be the perfect girl for you. Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue. All of our dogs live in foster homes. Applications typically take 7-10 business days to process. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an application is approved. We do not transport dogs; adopters must travel to the dogs location in Troy, MO for the meet and greets and adoption. Jenga is a 10-12 year commitment, and her adopter must be prepared to love and support her for her lifetime. To Apply, Visit Leiashope.org

Story
applications at leiashope.org Yahtzee – 4.5-Year-Old Female | Puppy Mill Survivor Location: Troy, MO Adoption Fee: $400 Yahtzee is one of those dogs who quietly works her way into your heart. A puppy mill survivor, she is learning—at her own pace—that life can be soft, kind, and safe. She’s healing beautifully and eating well, and her foster mom sometimes hand-feeds her so Yahtzee can learn that hands bring love, not pain. She’s begun reaching small but meaningful milestones that feel huge when you witness them: a joyful burst of zoomies in the yard, curious glances toward her canine foster siblings, and a tail wag so enthusiastic it sounds like a little drummer keeping time with her happiness. Yahtzee wants very much to engage and play. She watches the other dogs closely, gets excited when they do, and inches closer before nerves send her retreating. Even then, her joy shines through. When she feels safe, her sweetness truly emerges. One especially tender moment came when her foster laid down on a big dog bed—Yahtzee approached, accepted gentle pets, and then, like a little fawn, curled up beside her and pressed in for cuddles. Despite what she has endured, Yahtzee has the gentlest spirit. She longs to be loved, to trust, and to be wanted. Yahtzee requires a secure physical fenced yard and a confident canine companion in her forever home. She is spayed, has received a dental, is microchipped, and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Leia’s Hope is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue. Applications can take 7–10 business days to process. An approved application is required before a meet and greet.
