Meet Endora – A Gentle Girl with a Love for Soft Things 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Endora is a little lady learning what it's like to live in freedom after spending her early life in a puppy mill. She’s shy at first, but once she warms up, she politely asks for affection and enjoys quiet companionship. Her foster has established a mealtime routine that works perfectly for her—when she hears the call, Endora happily runs upstairs to the bedroom where her bowl is placed just inside the door. This quiet, uninterrupted space is where she feels most comfortable eating. She has a healthy appetite, is a good eater, and is currently on Puppy Fromm. She eats twice a day, with a little extra to support her growing puppy needs. Endora is a big fan of soft comforts—she loves her open-door kennel filled with fluffy blankets and can often be found lounging in cozy dog beds. After spending her early life on a hard kennel floor, she’s finally learning what comfort feels like. She gets along well with other dogs and is watching them closely to learn how to play and enjoy toys. With a little more time and encouragement, she’ll be joining in on the fun! 📝 Requirements: Secure physical fenced yard Another young, confident dog in the home No children under 12 Mill dogs like Endora are under-socialized and easily startled by things we take for granted—leashes, television sounds, garbage trucks, kitchen appliances, etc. She will need a patient and understanding home willing to help her continue adjusting at her own pace. 🐾 Endora is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. 💲 Adoption fee: $500 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Please Note: Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run rescue. Application processing takes 7–10 business days depending on our availability and your references. All dogs are in foster homes—there is no central facility. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an approved application. We do not ship or transport. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location, and all family members and current pets must be present. Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Puppies, in particular, may live 15+ years. If you're not prepared to commit to that, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where someone is frequently home, can provide proper training and socialization, and keep up with their energy and needs.

Story
🐾Here’s Paisley, and it’s her time to shine!💖 Paisley entered rescue on March 1st as a 7+ year old ex-breeder Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. At her initial veterinary visit, it was noted that she was a bit overweight and there was suspicion that she was pregnant. Unfortunately, this was later confirmed, and plans were made to help her safely through her pregnancy. On Easter Sunday, sweet Paisley delivered two very tiny stillborn puppies. We were all heartbroken, but our focus quickly returned to loving, supporting, and spoiling Paisley while waiting for the day she could safely be spayed. That day finally arrived this week! Paisley sailed through both her spay and dental procedures and is recovering beautifully. She has even accepted her post-operative recovery suit with ease to protect her incision. Paisley is a very sweet mill mama, and everyone who has cared for her has commented on her remarkable ability to adapt to life in a home. It’s almost as if she has lived in one before. She is the definition of a Velcro Cavalier and absolutely adores being close to her people. She follows her foster mom everywhere, naps beside her on the couch, joins her in every room of the house (yes, even the bathroom!), and sleeps on the big bed each night right by her side. She craves attention and affection, although foster mom has noticed that she sometimes pulls away when being hugged. This is likely a response to negative experiences in her past. With patience, gentle handling, and positive interactions, she is learning that loving touch from someone she trusts is safe and comforting. Paisley has a quirky preference when it comes to potty time. She much prefers doing her business in the securely fenced backyard, although she will venture into the front fenced area when accompanied by foster mom. House-training is still a work in progress and will need continued support and consistency in her forever home. She has a healthy appetite and has thoroughly enjoyed her high-quality Fromm diet along with supplements tailored to the needs of an aging Cavalier. Foster mom is very knowledgeable about the breed and has helped introduce Paisley to a variety of healthy treats. She loves fresh fruit with breakfast, especially blueberries, strawberries, and the occasional banana. She is even learning to appreciate steamed vegetables! Paisley drinks well from a water bowl and enjoys crunching on crushed ice alongside the resident Cavalier pack while relaxing on the deck. This week, Paisley surprised everyone by willingly walking on a harness and leash with some encouragement. Once she has fully healed from surgery, more walks and adventures will certainly be in her future. Paisley is very dog-friendly and gets along well with both small and large dogs in her foster home. She is also cat-friendly and generally pays very little attention to feline companions. Like many Cavaliers, Paisley is a professional couch potato. She loves taking frequent naps with the other Cavaliers and can often be found testing out the day’s most comfortable sleeping position—on her side, sprawled on her belly with her legs stretched behind her, or completely upside down with all four paws in the air. She is also known to generously provide herself as a comfy Cavalier pillow for one of the foster puppies. Because she spent her life as a breeding dog, we strongly recommend a secure physical fenced yard where she can continue building confidence and safely enjoying her freedom. A calm, confident canine companion would also be beneficial in helping her transition smoothly into a new home. Respectful children should do well with Paisley, though very young children may be unfamiliar and a bit overwhelming, so proper introductions and supervision are important. Paisley is fully vaccinated, spayed, vetted, and ready to begin her search for the forever home she has always deserved. Could that home be yours?💝 LOCATION: TROY MO ADOPTION FEE: $325 Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run, foster based rescue. All of our dogs live in foster homes. Applications typically take 7 to 10 business days to process. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an application is approved. We do not transport dogs; adopters must travel to the dogs location in Troy, MO for the Meet and Greet and adoption. Paisley is a 10 year commitment, and her adopter must be prepared to love and support her for her lifetime.

Story
🐶 Meet Lamb Chop! 🐾 Who doesn’t LOVE Lamb Chop?! This sweet 4-month-old male Shih Tzu/Poodle mix is full of personality and charm. He absolutely adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Playful, curious, and a little adventurous, Lamb Chop is always ready to explore—so he’ll need a watchful eye to keep him out of puppy mischief! He has a beautiful, full curly coat that will require regular grooming. He’s just waiting to finish up his vaccinations before scheduling his first spa day. ✂️🛁 Lamb Chop loves toys, zooming around the playroom, and has a healthy appetite. He’s finishing up treatment for Giardia and is otherwise a happy, healthy pup. When playtime is over, he’s all about the snuggles—belly rubs, kisses, and curling up in your lap for a cozy nap are his specialties. 💕 He would thrive in a home with children or another playful dog to share in his fun-loving energy. Because of his small size, Lamb Chop could easily get underfoot and become a tripping hazard. For this reason, he would do best in a home without toddlers or individuals with mobility challenges. Could Lamb Chop be your perfect new best friend? 🐾 Location: Troy MO Adoption Fee: $550 Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue. All of our dogs live in foster homes.
