Story
Dixie is a seven year four month old female cavapoo dog. We got her and her sister Scout from a breeder. She has proven to be one of the sweetest dogs for my four children. It is just come to our attention that she and her sister need to be separated. This completely breaks our heart as she is part of our family, but we know if she has a chance to be happier. We will do whatever it takes. Dixie is one of the sweetest, snuggliest dogs you will meet. She loves to play fetch and lay in the sun and go for car rides with her head out the window. She is very docile and will roll to her back and let you scratch her tummy whenever you want. We are only considering serious inquiries for those that will take care of her and love her as much as possible.

Story
Meet Endora – A Gentle Girl with a Love for Soft Things 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Endora is a little lady learning what it's like to live in freedom after spending her early life in a puppy mill. She’s shy at first, but once she warms up, she politely asks for affection and enjoys quiet companionship. Her foster has established a mealtime routine that works perfectly for her—when she hears the call, Endora happily runs upstairs to the bedroom where her bowl is placed just inside the door. This quiet, uninterrupted space is where she feels most comfortable eating. She has a healthy appetite, is a good eater, and is currently on Puppy Fromm. She eats twice a day, with a little extra to support her growing puppy needs. Endora is a big fan of soft comforts—she loves her open-door kennel filled with fluffy blankets and can often be found lounging in cozy dog beds. After spending her early life on a hard kennel floor, she’s finally learning what comfort feels like. She gets along well with other dogs and is watching them closely to learn how to play and enjoy toys. With a little more time and encouragement, she’ll be joining in on the fun! 📝 Requirements: Secure physical fenced yard Another young, confident dog in the home No children under 12 Mill dogs like Endora are under-socialized and easily startled by things we take for granted—leashes, television sounds, garbage trucks, kitchen appliances, etc. She will need a patient and understanding home willing to help her continue adjusting at her own pace. 🐾 Endora is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. 💲 Adoption fee: $500 📍 Located in Troy, MO 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Please Note: Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run rescue. Application processing takes 7–10 business days depending on our availability and your references. All dogs are in foster homes—there is no central facility. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an approved application. We do not ship or transport. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location, and all family members and current pets must be present. Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Puppies, in particular, may live 15+ years. If you're not prepared to commit to that, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where someone is frequently home, can provide proper training and socialization, and keep up with their energy and needs.

Story
Meet Billy! Billy is a 7 month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel boy who may not have been born “perfect” in his breeder’s eyes—but to us, he is absolutely perfect. When he had nowhere to go, Leia’s Hope happily said yes, because Billy is a wonderfully unique little soul who simply needs a chance to be loved. Billy is everything you’d expect from a Cavalier puppy: playful, affectionate, and full of joy. He has the perfect balance of puppy energy and sweetness, paired with an endless supply of kisses. He loves to crawl into your lap for cuddles, belly rubs, and quality snuggle time. He’s a great eater and is currently enjoying Fromm Puppy Food three times a day with freeze-dried raw toppers—and crunchy treats are definitely a favorite! In his short time in rescue, Billy has already discovered the good life: clean water, nutritious food, cozy bedding, and LOTS of toys. He loves all toys—especially chew toys—and approaches everything with curiosity and enthusiasm. He truly is your typical, sweet Cavalier puppy at heart. Now for what makes Billy extra special… Billy was born with Right Microphthalmia, meaning his right eye is underdeveloped and does not have vision. He does blink and behaves as though the eye is present. At this time, his veterinarian recommends simple observation and gentle cleansing if debris is noticed. Because Billy relies on his left eye for vision, any injury to that eye should be treated promptly. Aside from this, Billy does not let his condition slow him down one bit. Billy’s adoption fee is $500. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, has been dewormed, and was recently treated for Giardia and Coccidia. He will begin heartworm prevention on February 1 and has recently been neutered and microchipped. Once fully healed, he’ll be ready to begin his search for a forever family. Billy would thrive in a home with another younger dog who can match his puppy energy and help guide him as he continues learning what it means to live in a loving home. Most of all, he’s looking for a family who sees him the way we do—as a perfect little boy, just waiting to be loved forever. Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue. All of our dogs live in foster homes. Applications typically take 7–10 business days to process. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an application is approved. We do not transport dogs; adopters must travel to the dog’s location in Troy, MO for meet and greet and adoption. Billy is a 15+ year commitment, and his adopter must be prepared to love and support him for his lifetime. To apply, visit leiashope.org.
