Story
Hi friends! My name’s Kal, and I’m a 6-year-old, 67-lb Lab mix with a big ol’ heart and a serious talent for lounging in style! Everyone says I’m the easiest dog ever — and honestly, I think they’re right! I was a total staff favorite at my first shelter, and now the team at the Shelter Pet Adoption Center has fallen head over heels for me too. (What can I say? I’m kinda irresistible!) I’m living the good life in a foster home right now, and I’m doing amazing! I’m crate-trained, house-trained, and I walk like a perfect gentleman on leash. I was found hanging out in a field with another dog, but I already had a microchip, was neutered, heartworm negative, and I even know how to sit and shake! So yeah… it’s pretty clear I used to have someone who loved me — and now I’m ready to find that love again, forever this time. If you think we could be a match made in heaven, email ncteam@austinpetsalive.org or call (704) 266-3647 to meet me! I’ll be waiting (probably on the couch).

Story
Frodo is a lively 7-month-old pup with energy to spare and a big personality to match. Since he's still young, he'll benefit from plenty of simple obedience training to help channel all that enthusiasm. On leash, Frodo likes to go-go-go,so be prepared for an energetic walk full of pep and curiosity. His previous owner shared that he was good with children of all ages, making him a fun companion for an active family. In playgroups, Frodo is full of himself-in the most entertaining way. Loud, proud, and delightfully boisterous, he barrels up to other dogs and barks right in their faces as his version of an invitation to play. While our silly crew wasn'tbothered, some dogs might be. Potential adopters will want to continue to work with him on his canine to canine etiquette, because Frodo is definitely ready for canine charm school! If you're looking for a goofy, high-spirited best friend to grow and learn with, Frodo is your guy-come scoop him up today! If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Frodo, 262024".He is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervisionbetween animals and children at all times. Story
Rowdy is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!!Don't let the name fool you-Rowdy's not wild. He's a 7-year-old, 70-pound black Lab with a calm, gentle soul. He was found running along a highway with a too-tight collar and a chain dragging behind him. Since then, he's proven to be one of the sweetest, easiest dogs around. He doesn't need constant attention-he's just happy to be in the same room, keeping you quiet company.Rowdy enjoys simple things: a good walk, a rawhide chew, and a grassy yard to sniff around in. He has a strong prey drive (squirrels beware), but with a front-clip harness and a low-distraction route, he walks well. Toys don't interest him much-he's more about calm than chaos. He's crate trained, house trained, is great with children of all ages, and has great manners. He prefers his kibble with a spoonful of wet food, thank you, and he takes treats with the softest mouth. On a spa day with a volunteer, he was calm in the car, polite at the groomer, and charming at the hamburger drive-thru.Rowdy's looking for a home where he can be the only pet. No dogs, no cats-just you. After all he's been through, he deserves a peaceful life with someone who'll see what a steady, loyal fella he really is. He's waited long enough. He is heartworm positive, but heartworms are treatable, not contagious, and thanks to Friends of Wake County Animal Center, he comes with a $1,000 sponsorship to help with treatment costs.Ready to add some Rowdy to your life (and we mean that in the best way possible) or interested in seeing if he may be a good fit for your household?Email: Rachel.petranka@gmail.com with the subject line "Rowdy 257754"Rowdy is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Weight: 66 Age: 7yrs 8mths 4wks
