Story
Marshmellow has lots of energy and is very loving. He loves his stuffed animals but is really good at trying to share them when he wants to play. He also likes to play and try to catch bubbles, butterflies, and flying leaves. He is a bit of a ball hog if you try to play catch with him, so a little "good job, good boy" helps him bring it back so you can throw it again. He is very protective, especially with little ones. You have to remind him he is not the kids lawyer, standing up for little ones is the only time he is sassy. He turned 1 April 6. He loves going on walks but tries to kiss everyone who walks by. He gets real excited to see other dogs. He smiles a lot and is such a love bug. My little one showed him how to hug and I had to stop him from trying to put his arms out to try to hug every dog who passed by. He was my little ones dog but we recently found out his biggest allergy is dogs. I would love him to find a home with a backyard and dog loving family.

Bella lost her owner a few weeks ago. Rather than trying to move her to Michigan, we would like her to have a loving home for her. She was given to the owners daughter, Lorral who is in Michigan. Please let us know what we need to do. The picture shows Bella right after a bath so she's wet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet, Funny Bonded PairHoney (Tan, 20lbs) and Chip (White, 12lbs) are Chihuahua mixes, each between 1 and 2 years old. Chip and Honey ended up at the animal shelter after being found abandoned in a field with 4 other dogs. When they both came to SVPP, Honey was completely shut down, nervous and lost. We paired her up with Chip. They bonded and Chip is now Honey’s emotional support dog (yes, dog’s need them too!). They do everything together. They play, feel safe and even sleep in crates next to each other at night. Chip is a goofy, silly boy who is quick to learn new things. Honey's favorite place to be is close to and snuggling with the humans in her foster home. Honey is potty trained and Chip is doing well with this when kept on a regular daily schedule. They are both still decompressing from a life that we know very little about. They love to lay in the sun and lounge around in their foster Mom's office when she is working from home. Unexpected movements and loud noises may scare them, so they would do best in a home with no young children or other dogs unless well monitored. Do you have the time and patience to help them continue to learn what it feels like to be safe, relaxed and loved? Please fill out an application today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 14, 2024, 7:59 pm

Story
04/17/24 11:31From Foster:He has never nipped, growled, or even snarled a little at me even when I get him out of the crate or his hiding spot. He’s never locked in the crate, just have it next to the bed so he has a cozy space besides the blanket under my bed. He has relaxed a little from when I first got him.He plays and wrestles with my 2 year old dog that’s 26 lbs. He and the two older/smaller dogs just ignore each other. He is pee pad trained, doesn’t bark at all, but will whine/squeak a little when I come home/unlocking the front door. He’s eating well and seems to be at a good weight. Let me know if there’s any other info you need. 04/04/24 10:50From Foster:He is super fearful and hides from me so i think a regular adopter will be disapointed with him. He plays very well with my youngest dog who is twice his size. He plays with toys and chills on the couch when i am gone- i can see on camera. But even after two months, he will not come to me. Progress has been very slow. I feel like he would do best with someone who has been able to work with really fearful dogs. 02/01/24 10:21Reason animal needs rescue: Dog extremely fearful in shelter, no displays of fear aggression but constantly hiding under kuranda bed. Very handleable outside of kennel in more quiet enviroments.Type: BehaviorDate animal needs rescue by: ASAPImpound type: StrayOff stray hold:Additional notes: EJK

Story
Diego  is a good boy, likes to be close to you when you're sitting around and working on the computer.  He's crate trained, and likes hanging out in his crate during the day when you're away from home.  At night, he learned very quickly to sleep on a bed on the floor, without trying to jump on my bed.  He sleeps quietly until you're ready to get up and let him out. Diego gets very excited to go for a walk, and gets vocal when he sees you putting on your shoes.  This is a behavior we're working to extinguish right now. Diego is nervous around new people.  He needs an adopter who will understand from dog stress signs and only let him approach them.  Diego is not a fit for young children in the home, as children can be unpredictable and make him nervous. Diego's adopters should understand that they should not stick their hands in his face unpredictably, he should be only calmly petted, especially by new people.  Once he knows and trusts you, he will roll over for belly rubs.  Diego is an affectionate dog, but it's best that he goes to a calm home where he can feel secure. Diego loves to play fetch!  He's also good with other dogs in the home. Diego can be a little leash reactive, where he barks and pulls towards other dogs.  This is a behavior we're also working on using positive reinforcement. Energy Level? Medium House trained? Mostly Describe how they are on leash? He pulls ahead initially but not hard, and will walk better after a few minutes.  Working on leash manners. Describe how they are with other dogs? Good in the same household. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Yes, Diego has lived with cats in his previous home. Commands they know? Sit, going into his crate with a visual signal What are their favorite things? Playing fetch What do they need to work on? leash manners, he can benefit from more basic obedience cues. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Good.  Up to 8 hours in his previous home. Where do they sleep? Crate during the day, on a dog bed on the floor at night. What is their ideal home? Adult only home, with people who are experienced around nervous dogs and understand stress signs.   June 15, 2024, 9:07 pm

Tripod #Tripawd #Tripaw &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Adopt Jackson, The Cutest Tripod &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Lovingly called Jack, Jack is an 18-pound, 3-year-old dog. DNA test pending. Jack is eager to learn and is currently in a board-and-train program. He is crate and potty-trained. He is currently learning basic manners, commands, and socializing while living with a trainer in a home with her two dogs and a cat. Jack has had a difficult and challenging journey. He was surrendered to Every Pet's Dream Rescue in great pain. His backstory is unknown. Our vets did everything they could to help him, but unfortunately, after his first surgery failed, his back leg had to be amputated. Jack can be vocal at times when startled and was most likely not socialized as a puppy. He is currently working on these fears. While at the rescue, Jack learned to adapt as an amputee, his new living situation with several other dogs and a cat. While here, he became besties with two little rescue dogs. Jack is energetic, likes to play with little dogs, loves to play fetch, go for short walks, and settle in on the couch for a cuddle or snuggle. Jack loves the simple things in life, like belly rubs, ear scratches, lots of stuffed toys, and people. Jack would do best as an only dog or a home with a small, playful dog. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Jack is a sweet, loyal, and loving companion. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Jack is searching for a foster home or foster-to-adopt when he graduates from training at the end of the year. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 If you're looking for a new best friend, Jack might be the dog for you! Story
Charlotte  is a sweet, friendly, curious dog who is happy to jump into your lap for pets. Energy Level?  Medium (at times high) House trained? Yes, mostly Describe how they are on a leash. Great. Describe how they are with other dogs?  Overall dog friendly. She will play once she feels relaxed but prefers to initiate play. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Good with dog-savvy cats Cues they know?  Sit What are their favorite things? She loves attention, being petted, walking, toys, and food. What do they need to work on?  Charlotte would benefit from more basic training (like come, stay, etc.) She also can be vocal when excited (either when she sees someone she likes or if there is street noise outside) How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Charlotte does not seem to suffer from separation anxiety as long as another dog is with her. I have left her alone for 6 to 7 hours at a time so far. Where do they sleep?  She sleeps in a dog bed or a crate. What is their ideal home? Charlotte's ideal home would have another dog or two unless a person is there most of the time. She loves going for short walks every day or a few times a day. She has tons of energy in the morning and at night. She will growl if a dog is too 'in her face' but overall has a good temperament with dogs and seems fine with cats. She does not enjoy being handled by a vet (i.e., getting shots), but other than that, she is great with people after being given a minute or two to acclimate. June 15, 2024, 9:06 pm

Story
Leia is a friendly, full-of-personality dog who loves attention and loves to explore. Energy Level?  Medium/Low House trained?  Yes, mostly Describe how they are on leash?  Leia is mostly fantastic on a leash--she can bark at other dogs, and prefers a sniff walk (i.e very slow exploration) over a walk for exercise. Describe how they are with other dogs?  She needs to take a bit of time to relax around new dogs. She is a bit bossy and would not do well with dogs that will not back off if she needs space. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  She does not appear to have been around cats too much. Commands they know?  Sit What are their favorite things?  Leia loves attention. She loves her sniff walks and cuddling up on the couch with a person. What do they need to work on?  Leia would benefit from more basic training (like come, stay, etc.). She can also be overly anxious when meeting new dogs. In addition, she can resource-guard her toys (or anything she deems as hers, like a stray sock or one of her jackets or blankets). How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  She can be anxious when left alone, even with other dogs. She might whine for a bit and scratch the door. I have left her alone for 6 to 7 hours at a time so far. Where do they sleep?  She sleeps in a dog bed or a crate. What is their ideal home?  Leia's perfect home would be where she gets a lot of attention (or at least can be close to her human when they are home). She loves going for slow sniff walks every day or a few times a day. She is delightful and loving but likes being the boss with other dogs. Her ideal home would not have dogs who are too 'in her face', but she does get along well with calm dogs after a proper slow introduction. June 15, 2024, 9:06 pm

Our sweet girl  "Millie"  had double cherry-eye surgery recently and is doing great.   Milkshake is very sweet and cuddly and enjoys a lot of physical contact. she is very friendly and happy. She is also learning to play and becoming more playful by the day- enjoys toys, play fighting with our dog, and zoomies around the house with our dog. Very good Describe how they are with other dogs?  Social, communicates well Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  She hasn't been around cats, ignores guinea pigs Commands they know?  “Go peepee” comes when her name called What are their favorite things?  Snuggles, burrowing in laundry, sitting in the sunshine What do they need to work on?  House training, basic commands, crate training How are they when left alone?    How long have they been left alone?  So far, she doesn’t love the crate, left in the crate for 1-2 hours. Where do they sleep?  In our bed or a crate What is their ideal home?  A calm, predictable home. She likes teens who are quiet, gentle, and respectful. She likes her two dog friends but primarily needs humans to bond with. Someone who is often home (retired?) would be good for her. She would do well around calm, respectful kids.  June 15, 2024, 9:06 pm
