Story
He's the cutest little boy. I will send lots of pictures and bios. In the past few days, he's actually shown a lot of signs of improvement and I feel like his eyes/expressions are changing to be more relaxed rather than always alert. He also really wants to go outside so we're just still working on the leash bc that's the last part he's really afraid of. Meet Captain! » จะ Captain is about 1 year old and is learning that people can be kind. After a difficult start in life, he's slowly discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. Every day he gets a little braver, especially when treats are involved—this sweet boy is incredibly food motivated and eager to learn! Captain absolutely loves other dogs and cats and gains a lot of confidence from having furry friends around. His favorite feature? His adorably oversized ears, which we lovingly call his "antennas" because they're always tuned in to what's going on. Captain is looking for a patient home that will let him blossom at his own pace. With time, kindness, and plenty of treats, this special little guy is going to make an incredibly rewarding companion.

Story
Odie is very anxious when left alone. My son recently moved out of state and I work all day. I feel Odie would be happier in a home with someone who is retired or works from home. He will let you know when he needs to go potty, but because I am gone all day he goes on a potty pad and occasional will urinate on his bed or the couch. I am told this is due to his anxiety. His stomach is sensitive so I feed him fresh food, specifically Spot and Tango beef and lamb. I am absolutely hear broken and the thought of giving him up, but I am moving in with a room mate due to finances and my room mate is not happy about having a dog. I just want what is best for him. I love him so much.

Story
Don’t let the little white hairs fool you—this adorable black pup is just pretending to be a wise old senior. In reality, they’re still learning the ropes of senior life and blossoming beautifully in our care. When they first arrived, Brooks was a bit shy and unsure, but with a little patience (and a lot of belly rubs), he's transformed into a cuddle bug extraordinaire. His favorite hobbies now include snuggling up for naps, politely requesting ear scratches, and giving you those big “you’re my favorite human” eyes.He may look like he's seen it all, but really, he's just getting started on this whole “senior sweetness” thing—and trust us, he's nailing it. 💕If you’re looking for a lovable, pint-sized companion who’s equal parts charming and snuggly, Brooks would be delighted to audition for the role of your new best friend.Fill out an adoption application directly on our website at www.lionelslegacy.org

Story
This barely 4 lb. ball of rage turns into absolute mush once she knows and trusts you. Poor Pepita was rightfully terrified after leaving the shelter. She had to be wrapped up in a blanket to even get a collar on. Even if you reached towards her, she would scream. After decompressing for a few days and giving her lots of space, she started coming out of her shell a little more every day. Soon, she would only flinch a little when you would reach for her, then she would let me pick her up. For a few days I could only pick her up and carry her, not sit down, or she would run off. Finally, we became friends and she became my 4th little shadow. We did have a little regression after her first bath and trying to get a shirt on her. She was upset with me for a few days but came back around. She now happily prances to me when I call for her. Mushes herself into my neck and gives me lots of kisses. She loves mealtime and laying outside in the sun. I don't know what happened to Pepita in the past, but I hope every day she keeps forgetting those things and starts remembering that her life will only be a full belly, soft beds, and lots of love from here on out. Pepita gets along fine with her foster sisters and cat brothers. She doesn't like if the dogs get too close to her personal space but will share a bed no problem. She does not like having her harness put on, but once on, she is a great passenger in the car. She is also doing better with nail trims, and baths. She is house trained and potty pad trained. Her deformed front leg doesn't slow her down! She will run, jump, and prance around with no problem. Pepita is missing most of her bottom jaw and has no teeth, but that doesn't slow her down when it comes to mealtime! She will quickly devour her soft food and tiny kibble, then jump up and lick the cat's bowl clean! Pepita is not currently on any meds. Despite her tiny stature, Pepita is an excellent guard dog and will bark any time someone new comes in the house. Once she realizes they are friends, she warms up quickly- especially if they have treats. If you've got a little room and a little patience for her big personality, then Pepita would love to be your new bestie!Fill out an adoption application directly on our website at www.lionelslegacy.org
