Each day, his schedule is pretty packed: wake up ☀️, nap 💤, follow his favorite human around ❤️, maybe take a walk 👟, nap again 😴, then off to bed before the evening news is over. 🌙 Ralphie is a handsome 10-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 16 pounds. He's not interested in toys anymore, but he’s fully committed to the art of napping. Don't let his retirement lifestyle fool you, though. Clip on his leash and this guy suddenly becomes the swiftest retiree in town! 💨 His foster says he comes alive on walks, happily cruising along with surprising pep in his step. One of the sweetest things about Ralphie is that he likes to drag his dog bed across the room so he can nap a little closer to his favorite person. 🥹 Ralphie gets along well with other dogs and with cats, too! 🐱👍 He's working hard on house training, sleeps in his own bed at night, and would love a home where his humans are home more often than not. He does have some separation anxiety and may bark quite a bit when left alone, so apartment life isn’t for him. He'd also do best in a home without young, high-energy kids. Ralphie has cataracts and is almost completely deaf, so it’s important not to sneak up on him. If startled, he may give a little growl to let you know he wasn’t expecting company. His hearing also means outdoor time needs a little extra care. Ralphie can’t hear you call him back or approaching cars, so he’ll need a secure wood or chain-link fence he can’t squeeze through (or he needs to stay on leash whenever he’s outside). Underneath it all, he’s just a gentle old soul who enjoys quiet days, leisurely walks, and never wants you to sit alone on the couch. Sound like your kinda guy? This little cutie is Oreo, or Rio for short. She is around a year old. She was a stray so we’re not sure of her breed, but our best guess is Rat Terrier/Chihuahua and maybe some Dachshund as she has a long body for her size. She weighs about 11 lbs and has fairly long legs. Oreo is a very sweet, happy girl. She didn’t have the best start in life so is still fearful of some things but has made great progress in her foster home. She loves most people and gets very excited when she sees people she knows. She is good with kids but tends to jump up a lot and small children make her nervous so she would do best with older children. She would love another dog around her size for play and companionship. She doesn’t like to be alone so a family who has plenty of time to spend with her or another dog to keep her company would be best. Oreo is a pretty laid back girl and loves a good dog bed to curl up in. She also loves to go for walks and is good on a leash. Oreo is a bit of a character and makes her foster mom laugh when she carries her empty dog food bowl around and likes to pile her toys up around her. She will also lay quietly in her dog bed until another dog in her foster home is getting attention and then she pushes her way in to make sure she gets attention and pets too. Oreo is housebroken, spayed, microchipped and is current on vaccinations and Heartworm and flea and tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $250. Looking for an owner knowledgeable of senior dogs. She is about 14 and is generally healthy. She does have slight incontinence but regular potty breaks every 3-5 hours has been the sweet spot. I kennel overnight and during the work day to avoid accidents throughout the home. Her poor teeth health had recently been evaluated by the vet and due to complications associated with age vet teeth cleaning has been difficult to acquire. She also struggles with allowing me to brush but I believe with consistent effort she can adjust! She does great with bathing and she loves to take walks and even still gets zoomies around the house! she can also be really sweet and affectionate and loves her naps. She is anxious around strangers so kids/pets reaching to touch her can make her snappy, it does not break skin. However, after consistent contact she starts to adjust and will embrace that contact!
