Mila is a 10 month old Chihuahua/Terrier x, and weighs about 12 lbs. She is shy at 1st, but comes around quickly. Mila is almost housetrained, and uses potty pads. As most short haired dogs she doesn't care much for the cold. She does well in her foster home, with mom and dad, and 2 other dogs, and a cat. We think she would do well with a fenced yard, a cat, and or another friendly dog. She's a very sweet dog, and loves laps, and affection. Candy I would not recommend young children with her, but didn't put in bio cause didn't know how to word it.

I got Milo from a co-worker back in 2016. She was getting married and needed to downsize on pets. He was her latest one, so he was the easiest to let go of. He is a great dog and I have loved him for almost 10 years. My young nieces use to let him lay in the bed with them, they would crawl in his cage when he tried to get time away, and they loved to pet him. He allowed it all with no issues. For the most part he has been the only dog. For about two years we had a second dog in the home. Milo did not want to be bothered at first because the dog was young and very playful. Milo is chill and doesn't do a lot of running around. He enjoys being brushed, scratched, and petted. I have not had any health issues with him. The only issue is that if you let his hair grow long, he sheds bad. I try to keep his hair cut as low as possible to decrease the amount of shedding.

Claire is a super sweet and loving 3-year old chihuahua mix. She is just delightful and always looking for a lap and a hug. She wears sweaters and jackets and loves warm blankets on the couch. She is truly a Velcro doggie. She was raised with small dogs and loves the resident dogs. She came to Melissa's after her human mom passed away, and it is clear she had a loving home. Claire has been open to affection from men, women, and older teens. She will walk on a leash but loves to dash through the fenced yard. She looks to her humans for reassurance when big dogs bark or wants to go inside. She is smart, and has done fabulous on potty training. She will stay in her crate at night though she is eyeing the big bed. She is spayed, has her basic vetting, and is ready for her new family. She is a doll. If interested, apply to adopt at Melissa's Second Chances. She hasn't been exposed to cats or small children yet, but she was TERRIFIED of the big dogs next door-- not that she wouldn't be OK with big dogs, but it might take some time. Foster thinks she could be free roaming 24/7 once potty training is 100%.
