Story
Took Rico in after his last owners abandoned him. My child is 3 and recently tried to pick Rico up and Rico snipped at him near his face. Rico has also snipped at him a few other times. We have another baby on the way and I’m afraid Rico would snip at the baby as well. He is a friendly dog and does pretty well with going outside to the potty aside from a few accidents here and there.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mr. Ed is an approximately 7 year old chihuahua mix who came to MCHS on 3/28/2025 with his mom, Speedy. He's a bit on the shy side upon first meeting but warms up quickly and becomes a little love. He's a really nice boy trying to make sense of all the big changes in his life. He has been neutered and completely vet checked. His fee is $150 but will be reduced to $125 if he's adopted with Speedy. Mr. Ed does have a significant heart murmur. However he does not have any symptoms or limitations and does not require any medication for it. We're not requiring that Mr. Ed be adopted with his mom but it would be really nice. They are pretty attached to each other, coming from the same home as owner surrenders. Mr. Ed is fairly active and does require some exercise. He should be okay with other dogs and cats. Older kids would be best. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 5, 2025, 11:13 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is boyfriend, but my foster family calls me Joey because I like to stand and bounce like a kangaroo and look like one too! I was found with my girlfriend in an abandoned car in St. Paul and never claimed. First off I’m 100% chihuahua. I know what I want and when I want it. I’ve been doing well in my foster home although potty training is still a work in progress. I do tolerate belly bands to catch any accidents. I’m very well behaved in the house when alone and have been able to be out and about in the house. I live with dogs and cats in my foster home. The dogs and I get along great, but the cats I’m not so sure. At times I think they aren’t meant to be my toy rather than housemate. Only dog savvy cats for me in my forever home. I am super happy to sit and cuddle in your lap.  In fact, it’s where I prefer to be and I love sleeping under the covers in bed!  I love people and I just want to meet everyone I see and I can’t wait to meet you! NOTE: Boyfriend tested positive for Lyme's disease at his routine exam. He was asymptomatic and was treated with a round of antibiotics. Most dogs live with tick borne illnesses with no issues but his adopters will need to be aware of any flare up type symptoms. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Meet Sabrina, a sweet, spunky 10-year-old chihuahua who’s full of life! Rescued from a kill shelter in Texas, Sabrina may be missing her left eye and have some cataracts in her right, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. She gets around like a pro, using the stairs to jump up onto the couch and enjoying every moment. Sabrina is a total cuddlebug and loves snuggling with her people. She’s friendly and social with everyone she meets and has a wagging tail ready to greet her foster mom every time. She’s also housebroken and happily uses the doggie door to go outside to enjoy her favorite spot – the fenced backyard. Sabrina gets along great with other dogs, too! While she was found as a stray in Texas with her friend Sophia, they don’t interact much in the foster home. Sophia is another chihuahua who’s still undergoing medical care but will be available soon. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a heart of gold, Sabrina is the perfect girl for you! Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Meet Mickey, a sweet 3-year-old, long-legged Chihuahua. Although Mickey is a bit shy at first and may take a few days to warm up to new people, once he trusts you, he’s an absolute cuddle champ! His favorite thing in the world is snuggling up with mom and napping in her bed, so get ready for lots of cozy moments. Mickey is about 95% cuddle lazy on the couch and 5% flying through the house like a puppy. He’s a little timid with new people, so he’ll need understanding and kindness to feel comfortable in new situations, including leash walking, which we haven’t tried yet. Mickey will make a wonderful companion for anyone willing to give him the time he needs to settle in. He is good with other dog. At this time, Mickey can only go to a home with a secure fence as he does not know how to walk on a leash. Adoption fee is $350 plus tax. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Meet Bella – A Loyal Lap Companion Looking for Her Next Cozy Home 🌸 12-Year-Old Chihuahua | Female | Sweet, Sleepy, and Full of Heart Bella is a gentle soul with a big heart and an even bigger love for cozy blankets and quiet companionship. She recently lost her lifelong person after her beloved mom moved into a nursing home, and now she’s hoping to find a new soft place to land. Bella was her mom’s constant companion, spending most of her days snuggled on her lap under a warm blanket. She’s a classic senior lady: low-key, not interested in toys or play, but deeply loyal. She is a little hard of hearing and can get startled at times if sleeping. Bella isn’t used to children and may not be the best match for a home with young kids. She’s a bit wary of new people and tends to bond closely with one person. She’ll need a gentle and patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. She tolerates other people and can co-exist with other calm dogs, but she prefers other dogs not bother her when on her mom's lap. Her ideal home would be quiet, with someone who’s home most of the time and wants a sweet, sleepy shadow to share their day. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org
