Story
Libby - Female - 8lbs - DOB- 5/1/2024 In typical chihuahua fashion: Libby starts out sour.... and then is sweet. Libby likes to go on a couple of dinner dates before she falls head over heels in love with you!!!! This little lady is easy, give her a few snacks and she will be putty in your arms after a day or two. We do not know her history, however we know that she was brought into the Sioux City Shelter as a stray. She was beyond scared and and incredibly insecure (probably because her ears are too big for her body) LOL. Libby is potty trained, kennel trained, leash trained, and knows some basic commands...... so she was more than likely owned by someone at some point. Unfortunately this is a scenario that occurs every minute of every day- Humans. Dump. Animals. The reasons for this are endless, but it happens and it happens constantly. Take this tiny nugget on a few dates, and you will have your new Best Friend in no time! Apply for Libby today at www.nalarescue.org The Adoption Fee for Libby is $325 (a Tax Deductible Donation) . NALA Rescue is a home-based foster rescue and does not have a facility. If interested in meeting a dog, please apply at www.nalarescue.org. All dog meets are scheduled by appointment in advance only, if approved. Please note a Vet Check and Home Inspection are part of the application process. All shots, boosters, rabies, spay/neuter, and microchip is included in NALA Rescues Adoption Donation charged. All dogs/puppies are available until they are removed from this site so please no inquires if a dog is available.

Story
Yeehaw...it's our adorable Cowboy ready to vamoose to his new ranch home and hang his hat up! Some like to call him...Boots, due to his cute white paws! He is a 16 week old chihuahua guy who is ready to find stability in his life after being a stray. Cowboy loves other dogs no matter what size and enjoys playing with kids. This little 7.5 pound buckaroo was initially a little hesitant but in just a day he came around quickly and now loves to be included in the family fun! As a puppy, he will require continued potty training and learn how to be on a leash but we've already seen excellent signs of his intelligence by immediately going potty on the grass everytime he is set outside. It's currently 3 days with no accidents, so he is well on his way to proper outhouse ettiquette! We can't wait to see Cowboy saddle up on his new adventure with his forever family! If you are ready, to say howdy to a new small sidekick just apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org ADOPTION DONATION: $425 *All dogs must be adopted as inside companion animals only. Story
Honey is a 7 1/2 year old Chihuahua female new to our rescue.  She is a tiny, nervous Queen with a big personality and even bigger boundaries.  So, a typical chihuahua:  a lot of sweet with a sprinkle of spice.  She doesnt mind cats and is good with other dogs.  Because of her need for boundaries, she would be best in a family without young children. She needs a patient, quiet home with someone who understands that trust takes time - preferably with a fellow pup to help show her the ropes. We will update her bio as she continues to open up to us. The adoption fee is $250 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2355812##

Story
Hello, we adopted Waffles about three years ago sosure of his age but we’ve always said his birthday was April 16, 2018. When I think of the best, most absolute, ideal home for Waffles it would be a truck driver. He loooooooves car rides, sits perfectly in the passenger seat and just rests his little head on the console. He is the perfect size, lanky, but you donfeel like he’s going to break if he jumps off the couch. He is the definition of a lap dog but isn’t so clingy that he has to be right on you. He’s content to sit next to you or snuggled under a blanket. He runs cold and prefers a sweater in the winter and will roast next to an electric fireplace. Waffles’ main issues are unpredictable children aka toddlers and marking. He has done well with a diaper we just are a busy family that can’t seem to stay consistent with taking them on and off. We have another dog that he gets along with, they share a kennel, but I sometimes think he would prefer a quieter house

Story
Ellie is a Chihuahua mix, born in 2017.  She's looking for a new place with her bestie, Callie (born 2019).  Their person went into an assisted living community and we need your help finding them a new home!  They are both housebroken and know some commands. They are both very social. Ellie weighs 8 lbs and Callie weighs 12 lbs.  Callie and Ellie will need a secure fenced yard.  If given the opportunity, they'll take off out the front door - so keep an eye on them when letting visitors in!! They are both the perfect mix of being active and then calm.  They like to give kisses and enjoy a lap for cuddles and snuggles!! Here are a few more things we've learned from their owner: They eat Science Diet food (dry) and do not get people food. In the afternoon, they each get 2 little Pupperoni treats. They each sleep in their own little kennel overnight. They have been around 1 larger dog and tend to bark at neighbor dogs when in the back yard, but other than that not much contact with other dogs. **After meeting them, we can confirm they are soooo SWEET!!!!  You will love them! The suggested adoption donation for both Callie and Ellie is $450, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
