Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Skeeter is a two year old female Chihuahua who loves to play with all the resident dogs in her foster home and toys. In fact, she will coax you to play even if you’re not all that interested. She is still working on potty training. A resident dog or two is a must! She goes in her kennel when she sees us getting ready to go out. She does prefer to cuddle in foster Moms’ arms at night. Skeeter is very timid around new people and it will take time to warm up but the wait will be worth it. Skeeter will need a patient adult-only family who will allow her to progress at her own pace, and a securely fenced yard (flight risk) with a resident canine companion. The suggested adoption donation for Skeeter is a minimum of $125 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
Eeeeeeeeeee! Go ahead and squeal at Hermie's elf-like cuteness....believe me we get it at Haven Rescue especially when he can't decide what to do with his ears! This teeny adorable little Chihuahua/Poodle mix is 2.5 to 3 months old and weighs in at a whooping 3 pounds!  Baby Hermie is an adorable ball of joy and energy. He is very social, loves his people, his itty bitty stuffie toys, running with lightning zoomie speed and playing puppy wrestling with his two brothers. This adorable guy lives the saying "play hard then sleep hard". When worn out, he will cuddle in a soft blankie and your heart will melt with every puppy breath!  He is working on potty pad training as he is too small to be outside yet and has graduated from his puppy pen to a crate as he quickly learned to crawl out of it, lol. If he sees his people, yes he will yip and yelp for attention but otherwise he is content to chew his dental bones then puppy pile with his brothers into a sound sleep all night. Due to his puppy energy he'd love another small dog in the house to play with and learn real life doggy things. No small children or toddlers, as he is a petite little minikin! If you are up for puppy training and don't mind baby shark teeth, you really can't get much sweeter than this little darling mini! For more information or to adopt baby Hermie, please apply at www.HAVENANIMALRESCUENEBRASKA.ORG ADOPTION DONATION FEE: $450  Includes up to date on vaccinations for his age, neutering when age appropriate, microchip and all the love you can handle! PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! November 25, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Spearow is a young Chihuahua mix, born appx March 2022.  He is looking for a new home because his owner became sick and is unable to care for him.  He is fast and athletic.  He loves to go on walks and loves being outside!  Spearow is unsure of new people, but will snuggle with you on his terms.  He's a sweetheart and will put his head in your hand so you'll pet him and give him belly rubs.  Spearow is not a fan of big dogs, but he has participated in dog play groups at NHS and should be okay with smaller dogs in the home.  He does not get along with cats.  Spearow sleeps in a pet bed in his foster mom's bedroom and he likes to have a blanket over him.  Spearow will need a quiet home with people that have experience with Chihuahuas.  He is very protective of his food, space and belongings, so it would be better for him if there are no children in the home.  He prefers women to men.  Spearow is a little guy weighing in at appx 10 pounds, so he won't take up much space!  If you have a lap to share, Spearow just might be your guy!   The suggested adoption donation for Spearow is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Spearow are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Sophia is a Chihuahua mix (b. appx June 2020) and she is looking for an active family with a fenced yard.  She gets along with other dogs and kids.  She is leash trained, enjoys being active, knows some commands and knows how to fetch.  Sophia is a curious girl and will happily take off through the front door to explore on her own if you're not watching.  She will also check out your trash if she has access while you are away and she is not a fan of being kenneled.  Sophia prefers to dine alone and will need her own space for meals.  She would prefer to have a fur sibling.  (Her current sibling, Demon, is also up for adoption if you're looking for a pair of Chihuahuas.) The suggested adoption donation for Sophia is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.
