🐾💙 Meet Detour! 💙🐾 🚧 Detour is a 1-year-old, 7-pound Chihuahua mix who took a little… well, detour through life before finding his way to rescue! This tiny guy was found wandering the streets of Cleveland, but now he’s ready to trade the streets for a soft bed, warm home, and a forever person to follow everywhere! 🥹❤️ 💕 Lover Boy Alert! — Detour is an absolute cuddle bug who loves being close to his people. Once he settles in, his favorite place is right beside you! 👣 Your New Little Shadow — If you’re looking for a personal assistant who follows you from room to room, Detour has the job description covered! 😂 👧 Kids Unknown — We haven’t had the opportunity to see how Detour feels about little humans yet. 🐱 Cats Unknown — We haven’t had the chance to see how Detour feels about feline friends yet. 🧸 Toy Lover — Small, soft toys are his favorite! He’s ready for some serious toy time followed by some serious snuggling. 🐕 Leash Pro — Detour walks well on leash and is ready to explore the world with his person. 🎓 Smarty Pants — He knows “come” and is working hard on his potty training. 🏠 Crate Trained — He already knows how to settle safely in his crate. 🚗 Car Rides? Meh. — He’s not exactly a road-trip enthusiast, but once he gets settled, he’s perfectly happy to lay down and cuddle with you. ❤️ 🧗‍♂️ Escape Artist Extraordinaire — Detour is tiny, determined, and apparently believes fences are merely suggestions! 😂 Because of his Houdini skills, he will need a very secure, sturdy fenced yard. 🥰 What Detour really wants: A forever family who will give him patience, security, love, and plenty of lap time. After wandering the streets, this little guy deserves to finally know what it feels like to be home. 🏡💙 🐾 Tiny body. HUGE heart. Professional cuddler. Story
Willow is a sweet energetic 4.5-lb Chihuahua Toy Fox Terrier mix who needs a loving, PATIENT home. She is microchipped, has had her initial shots, and gets along well with other dogs.Willow is NOT much of a cuddler yet, but she wants your devoted attention at all times. She is NOT an apartment dog. She gets separation anxiety and cries a lot. She is still working on house training. She goes outside but is not 100% reliable and will have accidents inside. She is not spayed yet, but her appointment is scheduled for September 17 at PetFix ($105). Her nails are very easy to trim. This is a very difficult decision. I previously had a Chihuahua for 15 years, but Willow's energy and training needs have been more than I can manage.

Ernie is thought to be about 14 years old and chihuahua/black and tan terrier mix. He likes to nap and eat. He is an excellent walker. He does use the bathroom outside but has occasional accidents inside. He did live with a younger dog for 6 years and mostly ignored her, was never hostile with her. He is good around kids, but not around cats. He has occasional seizures and was previously on keppra for this but it did not seem to make a difference. He has about 6 seizures a year.

Story
Meet Bandit, an adorable little Chihuahua weighing around 12 pounds and estimated to be 11 years old. Bandit was found as a stray, and sadly, no one came looking for him. We don`t know much about his past, but we`re pretty sure his future should involve a comfy bed, a loving family, and absolutely no more adventures on the streets. Bandit has the quirkiest little crooked grin, and we think it makes him even more irresistible. He has one of those faces that makes you smile just because he`s smiling at you. Bandit is a very sweet and friendly little guy. He may be a little nervous when meeting new people, but give him a little time and his happy personality starts to shine. Once he`s comfortable, he`s ready to enjoy the good lifeBandit is also quite the little gentleman on his walks. He doesn`t exactly power-walk his way around the neighborhood. Instead, he does this adorable little trotting routine, stopping along the way to investigate every interesting smell. And we mean EVERY smell. With his low-to-medium energy level, Bandit is a pretty easygoing little companion. He`s not looking for a family that wants to run marathons with him. He`s looking for someone who appreciates the finer things in life, like leisurely strolls, good naps, cozy beds, and having a family to love.Because we don`t know Bandit`s history, his compatibility with cats and children is unknown. He has shown great potential with other dogs at the shelter, so a canine companion could potentially be in his future. As always, a meet-and-greet with any resident dog will be required to make sure everyone is a great match.Bandit is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means he can live in your home while he completes his veterinary care with our shelter vet. His vetting will include neutering, vaccines, microchipping, and heartworm testing. If you`re ready to add this charming little guy to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete an online dog adoption application to meet him. Bandit`s adoption fee is $85.Bandit may have started out as a stray, but he`s ready to put that chapter behind him. All this sweet boy needs is a family who will appreciate his quirky smile, his adorable little trot, his love of sniffing everything in sight, and his talent for being ridiculously cute.
