Story
Meet Lestat!! He came in as a stray on 5/22/26. We think he is about 10 years old, but we are only guessing. He is shy at first and he is nervous with all the noise from the dogs barking. He is already neutered. Someone has loved this little guy in the past and he is obviously used to being a couch potato. He is very mellow and easy going. He will be wonderful companion. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him! Lestat is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH Phone is 419-774-5892 It is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Honey & Leo: Twice the Love, Forever Together - We are Looking for a special foster home for them. This sweet brother-and-sister duo had their world turned upside down last week when their beloved owner unexpectedly passed away during surgery. His family lovingly cared for Honey and Leo until they could come to our shelter to begin the search for another forever home.Honey and Leo are 7-year-old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mixes who weigh approximately 30 pounds each. Their journey hasn`t always been easy. They originally came from a hoarding situation before being adopted together four years ago by a wonderful owner who gave them the love and stability they deserved. Now, through no fault of their own, they`re looking for a fresh start once again. At the shelter, Honey and Leo are understandably shy, timid, and shut down. Losing the only home they`ve known has been overwhelming, but we know there are two wonderful little personalities waiting to shine again once they`re back in a loving home.Leo is the brave big brother. He`s the first to investigate something new, and Honey happily follows his lead. Watching them together is a beautiful reminder that no matter what life throws their way, they always have each other. Because of their incredible bond, Honey and Leo must be adopted together—no exceptions.Honey and Leo have not lived with cats, so their cat compatibility is unknown. They also have not been around other dogs while living with their owner. If you have a resident dog, a meet and greet will be required to make sure everyone is a good match. Compatibility with children is also unknown. We`re hoping to find these two a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard where they can decompress, rebuild their confidence, and simply enjoy being dogs again. We know asking someone to open their heart and home to two dogs is a big request. But we also know that the lucky family who says `yes` won`t just be rescuing Honey and Leo—they`ll gain two loyal companions who have already proven that love can carry you through life`s hardest moments. If you`d like to foster this deserving duo the loving home, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete our online dog adoption application. Honey and Leo have lost so much—but with your help, they can find home again.

Story
I lost both of my parents to cancer, Niko was their loyal companion. I took him in thinking it was a temporary situation. He is very old but very healthy! 2 years ago when I inherited him, he had his remaining teeth removed, they were rotting. He’s a kind, loving boy. He needs to go out often. His most recent visit to the vet, they said he has some hip dysplasia as expected with his age but other than that, a wonderful little companion. I am unsure of his age, my parents rescued him years ago and were unsure of his age at that time. He needs someone he can spend a lot of time with. He stands on his hind legs for every feeding still, it’s adorable. Niko will thrive in a calm environment. He’s not aggressive but he does hide from my children when they’re playing, he doesn’t like the commotion. I would love to find someone for Niko to spend time with. I have a chihuahua size kennel, lead, yard anchor, leash, harnesses, jacket, large metal yard play pen, all included.

Story
Baymax is a beagle/chihuahua mix. He was rescued from a kill shelter in KY. Baymax is about to be 8 years old but still has so much life to live still. He is laid back and tends to do his own thing but enjoys cuddling. He is house trained and crate trained. He is VERY food motivated. He is used to having the ability to go in and out of the house as he pleases with his doggy door. He is loyal and would make a great dog. He does well with other dogs (cats untested). We want him to have a home that can give him everything he could ever want. We are just unable to care for him as he deserves. He will come with crate, food bowl, etc

Story
Meet Kobe! Kobe is an adorable little Chihuahua mix believed to be around 3 years old. This sweet boy loves being around people and enjoys spending time with other pets. He’s playful, affectionate, and always ready for fun with his dog friends. Kobe does well with other dogs and has been around cats, although he can sometimes get excited and chase them when he wants to play. He likes kids too, but because he doesn’t enjoy being poked or handled too roughly, a home with older, respectful children would be the best fit for him. Kobe is fully vetted and ready to find a loving forever home where he can be spoiled and loved the way he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion with a playful personality and a big heart, Kobe may be the perfect match for you!
