Story
Meet Mouse! Mouse is a sweet Chihuahua mix with a story that speaks to her resilience. She came to us as a stray, doing everything she could to keep herself and her five puppies safe. Thanks to her dedication, all of her puppies have found loving homes. Now it's Mouse's turn. Over the past month, Mouse has made incredible progress as she's learned that people can be kind and that she no longer has to live in survival mode. Every day, she becomes a little braver. She gets SO excited when her favorite people come to take her for walks or spend time with her, and watching her personality slowly blossom has been incredibly rewarding. While Mouse has come a long way, she's still learning that affection and gentle handling are safe. Being loved is a new experience for her, and she needs a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace. Experience with shy or fearful dogs would be a wonderful bonus, but most importantly, she's looking for someone who understands that trust is earned through consistency, kindness, and time. Mouse has done well with other respectful dogs who allow her space to investigate and don't pressure her to play or interact before she's ready. She previously shared a room with another young female dog that she seemed to really enjoy, so a calm, well-mannered canine companion could be a great match. Because she's still building confidence, Mouse would likely do best in a home without young children. Respectful teens may be a good fit. Her history with cats is unknown. Mouse isn't looking for perfection she's looking for someone willing to see the amazing dog she's becoming. In return, you'll have the privilege of watching a once-frightened little survivor discover what it truly means to feel safe, loved, and home. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Mouse's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Mouse would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : Yep!   Kiddos : 13+   ##2774470##

Story
This girl is a great dog. I've been working with her for over a year now. She is great with people, kids, still learning cats as we don't have any... but seems inquisitive though might be a little too rough in play for most kitties and very small children. Nonetheless, this little Monkey seems to adore kids of all ages. Monkey walks great on leash, she has great recall, does not bark when someone knocks on the door, is very loving and cuddly, but does not lick faces. She enjoys sitting with me in the outdoor community area, quietly watching people walk by. Monkey is special needs because she will need someone who knows how to appropriately understand and work with Monkey's potential to overreact towards unfamiliar dogs who cross her threshold. This has become much easier to manage; Monkey listens and responds exceptionally well.

Story
🐾 Zero — The Hug-Powered Hero Zero might only weigh 25 pounds, but he’s running pure main-character energy. This scrappy Chi-Terrier mix grew up on the tough streets of SoCal, dodging trouble and charming snacks out of strangers. These days, he’s traded back-alley hustle for hero duty — keeping watch, calling out suspicious noises, and making sure his person always knows when something’s up. But when the coast is clear? That’s when Zero unleashes his real superpower — the full-body hug. He leans in with everything he’s got, melting right into you until the world disappears. Then, just when your heart can’t take any more sweetness, he flips over and offers his belly like a tiny furry trust fall. Zero’s the perfect blend of alert dog and emotional support specialist: part security system, part therapy blanket. He’s loyal, funny, and always game for a snack break after patrol. Special Skills: 💞 Hug attack (melts humans instantly) 🔊 Early-warning bark system 🐾 Expert belly-rub receiver 🦴 Snack detection radar Zero’s ready to find his hero — someone who appreciates enthusiasm, loyalty, and the power of one perfectly timed hug.

Story
Penelope 3 years, spayed female, 19 lbs Chug mix Looking for an energetic furry friend with Yoda ears and an underbite? Penelope fits the bill! This happy girl is ready to accompany you on all of life’s adventures. Likes and Hobbies: She’s happy doing anything you’re doing! She’s a curious, confident, playful, adventurous, very trainable companion. She enjoys anything active, she’s got lots of energy! She would appreciate a dog sibling who isn’t afraid to play, run, and play some more. She likes car rides and does great on walks. She loves toys, warm laps, and especially food! Ideal Home Must-Haves: Penelope needs a patient new family willing to do further training to help her learn good manners. Her “stranger danger” instincts are on-point, she will bark at new people and needs slow introductions. She is very food motivated and eager to please, and responds well to re-direction. She is good around older dog-savvy kids, but untested with cats. After she knows you, before you know it she’s your new velcro bestie. The Lowdown: Penelope is potty trained in her foster home, but may need to re-adjust when in new surroundings. She very quickly learned to use a doggie door. She sleeps all night in her crate after a few minutes of initial protest. Despite the short legs, Penelope is an olympic-level high jumper, and can jump out of x-pens and over kiddie gates without even touching them! Penelope is available for private meet and greets after adoption applications are approved. To further inquire about PENELOPE, submit an application. ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how PENELOPE will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet. Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit. We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for PENELOPE, as well as her future family. *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, OR ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ ##2707081##
