Rescued only 5 days prior to her euthanasia date nearly a year ago, sweet Monkey is still looking for her forever home. She will need a relatively quiet home with a fenced yard. Although Monkey is being trained as a diabetic alert dog, she doesn't need to go into a home with a diabetic. My goal is to find her a loving person/family. Although Monkey can be fearful of other dogs, mostly on leash, and can become reactive, she seems to love people/children and has shown to be safe with them. Her leash reactivity has been counteracted with specific training techniques, so it is now relatively under control. Monkey will need reinforcement training and she will need to know that her person will keep her safe. Her adoption fee includes an initial session with a trainer/animal behaviorist, all of her belongings, and ongoing nutritional advice, training tips and pet sitting services when needed. DISLIKES: Being alone, finding himself in strange places, rain & cold. PERSONALITY TRAITS: Gomez is the ultimate Velcro baby. He loves to be carried around and to snuggle super close in bed. His foster mom even puts him in a Moby to do chores. Gomez gives the sweetest little kisses and he's so soft to pet. He'll gladly roll over for belly rubs or snuggle into your neck once he knows you! POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Potty trained. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Crate trained, although he will fuss if he's in there while you're sitting nearby. EXTRAS/MISC.: Gomez is prone to a bit of panic when he's in a new house, and for that reason we will require his new home to be secure. This means solid fences, no escape routes, and crating when he's alone. He quickly gets over this as he attaches to his new family, but we just need to make sure he's safe until he gets there. We'd also like his new home to be within the main Eugene/Springfield metro area so that his foster can get there quickly if anything happens.
