Meet Merry! Merry is a charming terrier mix rescue with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Fostered in a quiet home in New Braunfels, TX, Merry is looking for a forever family within Texas who will appreciate her sweet nature and give her the stable, calm environment where she truly shines. Merry is fully potty trained and does wonderfully in the home. She does not enjoy being crated, but the good news is she can be trusted uncrated when left alone—she relaxes peacefully without destroying anything. A quiet household suits her best, and she would be just as happy in a cozy apartment as in a house, as long as her surroundings are predictable and calm. Playtime is one of Merry’s favorite things, especially when squeaky toys are involved! She’ll happily show off her fetching skills… just once per session, thank you very much. One of the most endearing things about Merry is her joyful zoomies when her foster mom comes home from work—her excitement and affection are impossible to miss. Merry is good with other dogs and coexists well with them, though she doesn’t interact much and tends to keep to herself. She would do best with calm canine companions who respect her space. Merry can be a bit fearful when getting into a car, but once inside, she tolerates rides well. She does great on a leash and loves exploring her surroundings at her own pace, making daily walks an enjoyable bonding time. Above all, Merry is incredibly loving and devoted. Story
Monkey is a Diabetic Alert Dog in training. She is doing quite well with detecting low glucose levels in diabetic patients. At this time, I am beginning to train her to detect high glucose levels so that she will have both skills. Monkey has been in basic training and obedience courses for the past several months. Although Monkey is rather well trained, she is very young and will need reinforcement training. Monkey is a high energy Chihuahua Mix. I believe she has Rat Terrier a/o Min Pin in her. Did I mention how sweet she is? Monkey is a loyal little love bug, she loves to curl her little body up against me, and she sleeps right next to me during the night. She is crate trained, and very rarely barks in my home. Monkey does not like to be too far from her person. Unlike most of my foster dogs, she always follows me out of the dog park. Monkey does have a high prey drive but she is learning to listen quite well as we walk by squirrels, crows, and other dogs.

Odin 7 mos, neutered male, 12 lbs Chihuahua Pug mix   LIKES: Going on a couple daily walks. Odin is a Velcro dog who enjoys being with his person whenever possible. He enjoys chew toys especially bones but he will play fetch indoors or outdoors.    DISLIKES: Odin doesn't like to be in a crate, and is vocal but calms down after you leave. He doesn't like to be in the yard unless someone is with him.   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Odin is a friendly, bouncy, playful, sweet, loving, Velcro pup that is treat motivated and learns quick.   POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is doing well in his foster home with regular opportunities to go outside.   CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He would rather sleep/be with you. But he is crated when left unsupervised in his foster home, and he calms down when his person leaves.   EXTRAS/MISC.: He is a playful and athletic and his foster suspects he has a sighthound in his family tree. He has shown a tendency to be opportunistic at open doors and will need to be supervised and work on open door training. This SWEET LITTER of pups are 9 week old Terrier mixes. They are true mutts and based on their current size and age we are guessing they will be medium-sized dogs. They have been raised by their mom, Cupcake (available soon) and handled in a foster home which has given them a good start on being social with people and other dogs. They sleep in an X-pen together and use potty-pads in there. Trips to potty outside have begun, but it's a big rainy world out there and they may need more convincing and practice before they are fully trained.
