Lovingly raised by a local rescue specialist, she is house/crate trained, a star student, and forms deep, loyal bonds with her people. Monkey can sometimes become overstimulated or selective around other dogs, but it is quite easy to manage with an attentive leader. She thrives best in a quieter neighborhood environment with a secured yard or private "Sniffspot" visits to decompress. She does not require a restrictive life, but she can be shy and needs her space too. Monkey has been very quiet in her foster home. She also adores children. Monkey can be placed with another dog or cat if they are the right match. We have a 14 year old, 6 lb, female Chihuahua we acquired when a friend passed away. Unfortunately, we cannot give her the care and attention she needs and deserves. We took her on temporarily, but are traveling and must find a safe placement within the next 6 days. My daughter was going to take her, but her circumstances changed. We just drove with her through Canada so all of her shots are up to date and she is micro chipped. We are in the Eugene area for about a week. We are expecting to leave around October 22nd and would really like to find her a forever home before that. She's a very sweet, well behaved dog, and deserves to have a loving home. She is getting up there in age, but is in good health. She can be alone for hours at a time, but will never turn down an extra dose of loving, one on one attention! We are looking for an emergency placement.

Courage 2 years, neutered male, 9 lbs Chihuahua mix Sweet little Courage (AKA Curry) boy This gorgeous long-legged Chihuahua-mix oozes cuteness. He prances and moves his legs like a proud horse. Curry is a phenomenal cuddler and loves burrowing underneath blankets on the couch and lounging in dog beds. At bedtime he snuggles under the covers, touching his person all through the night. He’s a very smart boy and learns commands easily. He took to the dog door right away and mastered “sit” rather quickly. He learned to kiss and now loves giving so many kisses! Curry now understands that bathroom business happens outside. He also learned to walk on a leash so well, and is a wonderful boy on walks. He’s excited to have his harness put on because he knows it means fun times ahead. He loves going to the dog park, too. Because Curry has a good amount of energy he needs a fenced yard at home, and someone who is active to get him his needed exercise. At first, he was a little scared of big dogs and sometimes on walks needs to be reminded not to be scared. Positive reinforcement and a sweet loving tone of voice works very well for him. Meet Grandma Judith! At just 5 pounds, Grandma Judith may be teeny tiny, but she has an enormous heart. This precious little senior Chihuahua found herself surrendered to a busy shelter, and we knew we had to get her to safety as quickly as possible. Judith is approximately 12 years old and is the definition of a gentle soul. She's quiet, sweet, and always seems happy to meet new people. She gets along well with other dogs, though because she's both vision and hearing impaired, she's fairly indifferent to them but we have noticed when they are not around she is looking for them and seems more comfortable in their presence and simply enjoys peacefully existing alongside her furry friends. For this reason we would like to find her a home with another small dog. Judith is searching for a calm, quiet, and predictable home where she can confidently navigate her surroundings. She's a little lady who appreciates routine and a peaceful environment where she can truly relax. This special girl does have a grade 4 heart murmur and takes two daily medications to help her feel her very best. Despite her medical needs, Judith has plenty of joy to share and is happiest soaking up life's simple pleasures. Her favorite things include doing the cutest little happy dance when it's mealtime, basking in the sunshine whenever she gets the chance, leisurely sniffing around the yard, curling up in a cozy dog bed, and taking stroller rides so she can enjoy the world in comfort and style. While Judith's history with cats is unknown, we believe she would do just fine with feline friends. Because of her tiny size and sensory impairments, we think she'd be happiest in a home without young children. Grandma Judith may be in her golden years, but she still has so much love to give. If you're looking for a gentle companion who asks for little more than kindness, comfort, and a warm sunny spot to nap, Judith is ready to spend her retirement years loving you.
