Story

Monkey is a Diabetic Alert Dog in training. She is doing quite well with detecting low glucose levels in diabetic patients. At this time, I am beginning to train her to detect high glucose levels so that she will have both skills. Monkey has been in basic training and obedience courses for the past several months. Although Monkey is rather well trained, she is very young and will need reinforcement training. Monkey is a high energy Chihuahua Mix. I believe she has Rat Terrier a/o Min Pin in her. Did I mention how sweet she is? Monkey is a loyal little love bug, she loves to curl her little body up against me, and she sleeps right next to me during the night. She is crate trained, and very rarely barks in my home. Monkey does not like to be too far from her person. Unlike most of my foster dogs, she always follows me out of the dog park. Monkey does have a high prey drive but she is learning to listen quite well as we walk by squirrels, crows, and other dogs.

Odin 7 mos, neutered male, 12 lbs Chihuahua Pug mix LIKES: Going on a couple daily walks. Odin is a Velcro dog who enjoys being with his person whenever possible. He enjoys chew toys especially bones but he will play fetch indoors or outdoors. DISLIKES: Odin doesn't like to be in a crate, and is vocal but calms down after you leave. He doesn't like to be in the yard unless someone is with him. PERSONALITY TRAITS: Odin is a friendly, bouncy, playful, sweet, loving, Velcro pup that is treat motivated and learns quick. POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is doing well in his foster home with regular opportunities to go outside. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He would rather sleep/be with you. But he is crated when left unsupervised in his foster home, and he calms down when his person leaves. This SWEET LITTER of pups are 9 week old Terrier mixes. They are true mutts and based on their current size and age we are guessing they will be medium-sized dogs. They have been raised by their mom, Cupcake (available soon) and handled in a foster home which has given them a good start on being social with people and other dogs. They sleep in an X-pen together and use potty-pads in there. Trips to potty outside have begun, but it's a big rainy world out there and they may need more convincing and practice before they are fully trained. Malcom5 months. neutered male, 13 lbsTerrier mix PERSONALITY TRAITS: Malcom is playful and friendly to people and plays well with other dogs his size. He is snuggly with humans, and loves a good blanket and lap. He is full of energy and need room to run whether in a yard or with regular daily walks. LIKES: Playing, and cuddling, giving love nibbles, and being underneath the blankets. DISLIKES: Sharing food/toys. He also seems a little intimidated by bigger dogs. CRATE TRAINING: He is crate trained. He doesn't whine and can be crated for a while during the day. POTTY TRAINING: He is doing well in his foster home, using the crate to help him at night and regular trips outside. OTHER/MISC: Malcom would be Ok as the only dog in the house as long as he has regular exercise. Unknown with cats. Malcom has some territorial aggression that would need to worked on through training if adopted to a home with another dog, especially around food and high-value toys such as bones. He does Ok with the other foster dog, who is a little submissive. He has done great with all ages of humans. He is alert, but stops when told and is learning his manners. Malcom would benefit from puppy training classes and from specific training around territorial aggression to help him be the best dog he can be.
