Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Hensley! Hensley is a gentle, sweet-natured girl looking for a patient family to call her own. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through. One of her favorite things is rolling onto her back to ask for belly rubs! She is crate trained and happily eats her meals in her crate. It has become her cozy little retreat, and she especially loves curling up under a soft blanket while she relaxes. Hensley appears to be fully potty trained. She goes outside with the other dogs in her foster home and has had zero accidents in the house. She enjoys playing with her foster brothers and sisters and would love a home with another friendly dog to keep her company, though it’s not required. Hensley needs a home with no children under 12 years old. With a little patience and love, Hensley will reward her family with endless affection, gentle companionship, and plenty of adorable belly-up moments.   Medical Notes: Spayed Vaccinated Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Maintained on monthly preventatives      APPLY HERE Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 27, 2026, 5:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Tyler  Tyler is the kind of dog who forms an incredibly deep bond with his person. Once you earn his trust, you’ll have a loyal little shadow who greets you with excitement every time you walk through the door and loves nothing more than curling up beside you for snuggles. Tyler isn’t the type of dog who instantly loves everyone he meets—and that’s okay. New people and unfamiliar situations can be scary for him, so he tends to hang back and bark until he feels safe. His reactions are rooted in fear, not aggression. With patience, consistency, and time, Tyler learns that he’s safe and begins to let his true personality shine. Because new dogs make him uncomfortable, Tyler needs to be the only dog in his home. While he has learned to peacefully coexist with familiar dogs after several weeks, he is happiest when he doesn’t have to navigate the stress of meeting or living with other dogs. Being an only pet will allow him to relax and build confidence much more quickly. Tyler is looking for an adopter who understands that trust isn’t built overnight. It took him about 2½ weeks in his foster home before he truly settled in, and the transformation has been remarkable. The timid, worried little dog became an affectionate companion who enjoys spending time with his trusted people and loves being part of the family. If you’re willing to give Tyler the time he needs, you’ll discover what his foster already knows: behind that cautious first impression is a loving, faithful companion who simply wants to feel safe and loved. Tyler is looking for an adult-only home with a physically fenced yard where he can be your one and only.   Medical Notes: Neutered Vaccinated Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Maintained on monthly flea/tick preventatives Has some thinning fur - due to a flea infestation he had upon coming to Proverbs, this has been resolved   APPLY HERE Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 27, 2026, 5:13 pm

Story
This sweet little guy is Buddy and he is a happy go lucky 7-year,14-pound Chihuahua mix who has been with my a senior couple since he was a puppy. Due to his elderly mother's move to assisted living, this boy needs to be moved to a loving foster or forever home ASAP.   The family children have heavy personal responsibilities and illness they are dealing with and Buddy cannot join either of the homes of the daughters.  They feel backed in a corner to find him a place very soon and Critter Cavalry Rescue is dedicated to helping this innocent little happy guy find a place to share his joyful personality.   Buddy is incredibly loyal and loves being with his people. He has plenty of energy for playtime and would love a fenced yard where he can run and explore, but if you don't have a fenced yard, he also does well going for walks on a leash. He's also perfectly happy curling up beside you for a nap. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves. Buddy could fit into many different types of homes. He may especially enjoy a quieter home with an older person or couple, but more than anything, he just wants a family who will love him, include him, and make him part of their lives. This is a heartbreaking decision for his mom, and the only goal is to find Buddy the safe, loving home he deserves. Buddy would do best in a home without cats as he thinks of them as a good game of chase.  While he can get along with other dogs, he tends to do best with a sweet, confident dog who won't be intimidated by his strong personality, as he can sometimes be a bit bossy with other dogs. We know there is a special person or family out there who will give him the love, companionship, and happy home he deserves.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in making this darling little guy your amazing sidekick for life.               ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.August 27, 2026, 7:31 pm
