Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tyler, a precious little Chihuahua with a heart full of love and loyalty. This sweet boy forms deep bonds with his people and is happiest curled up in your lap, soaking up belly rubs, or simply staying close by. Once Tyler trusts you, he'll be your most devoted companion. Tyler has a playful side, too! He enjoys romping around with other dogs he knows, chasing toys, and zooming around a securely fenced yard. He is looking for a home with a physically fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. Tyler has made wonderful progress with his potty training and rarely needs to wear a belly band anymore. Like many male dogs, he may still mark indoors if another dog has already done so, but overall he has done very well with his house manners. He's also respectful in the home and can be left out without getting into mischief. Tyler does take time to adjust to new people, dogs, and environments. When he first arrives somewhere new, he can be shy and fearful, and he may growl at unfamiliar dogs or be cautious around new people. He isn't the type of dog who instantly makes friends, but with patience and understanding, his true personality shines through. Once he becomes comfortable, he enjoys the company of familiar dogs and blossoms into an affectionate, loving companion. Because Tyler needs time to build trust, he would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands that relationships develop at his pace. A calm, adult-only home without small children would be ideal. He also prefers a predictable environment where he can feel safe and secure. Tyler can be a little protective of his food, so feeding him separately from other dogs is recommended. If you're willing to give Tyler the patience he needs to settle in, you'll be rewarded with a sweet, loyal little dog who will fill your days with love, companionship, and endless cuddles. Tyler needs a home with a physically fenced yard. Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.July 14, 2026, 5:25 pm

Story
This sweet little guy is Buddy and he is a happy go lucky 7-year,14-pound Chihuahua mix who has been with my a senior couple since he was a puppy. Due to his elderly mother's move to assisted living, this boy needs to be moved to a loving foster or forever home ASAP.   The family children have heavy personal responsibilities and illness they are dealing with and Buddy cannot join either of the homes of the daughters.  They feel backed in a corner to find him a place very soon and Critter Cavalry Rescue is dedicated to helping this innocent little happy guy find a place to share his joyful personality.   Buddy is incredibly loyal and loves being with his people. He has plenty of energy for playtime and would love a fenced yard where he can run and explore, but if you don't have a fenced yard, he also does well going for walks on a leash. He's also perfectly happy curling up beside you for a nap. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves. Buddy could fit into many different types of homes. He may especially enjoy a quieter home with an older person or couple, but more than anything, he just wants a family who will love him, include him, and make him part of their lives. This is a heartbreaking decision for his mom, and the only goal is to find Buddy the safe, loving home he deserves. Buddy would do best in a home without cats as he thinks of them as a good game of chase.  While he can get along with other dogs, he tends to do best with a sweet, confident dog who won't be intimidated by his strong personality, as he can sometimes be a bit bossy with other dogs. We know there is a special person or family out there who will give him the love, companionship, and happy home he deserves.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in making this darling little guy your amazing sidekick for life.               ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Good with dogs,
Story
Cookie and Tiny are a bonded, and now married!, set of Chihuahua's. Cookie is the larger one at around 8lbs and fairly tall, and Tiny is smaller at around 4lbs but needs to maybe gain a pound or so. They are both recently spayed and neutered and since that time Tiny's obsession with Cookie has abated a bit so we are now not 100% sure that they have to be together-but they come from the same home and get along great so it would be ideal for them to be together! They are now married after all! They can bark at strange men especially but did great with our male vet and seem to calm down after spending just a brief amount of time with them and do well with our male team members after spending more time with them. Cookie especially is a kisser and loves to love on people-awwww! But we have discovered that Tiny also loves to be carried around and they will both vie for a spot on your lap! They both can be vocal when left so would not do good in an apartment setting.July 10, 2026, 10:03 am

Story
Etta James is brand new to us at Bonaparte's and she already has adjusted in with her foster easy peasy! This girl seems very sweet and good with other dogs, and seems ok medically but is extremely obese so we need to have her vetted and make sure there is no medical reason for her weight and then start her on a weightless journey. Once we have established what is going on we can open her up for adoption but she will be coming soon until then-July 10, 2026, 10:03 am
