Once you earn his trust, you’ll have a loyal little shadow who greets you with excitement every time you walk through the door and loves nothing more than curling up beside you for snuggles. Tyler isn’t the type of dog who instantly loves everyone he meets—and that’s okay. New people and unfamiliar situations can be scary for him, so he tends to hang back and bark until he feels safe. His reactions are rooted in fear, not aggression. With patience, consistency, and time, Tyler learns that he’s safe and begins to let his true personality shine. Because new dogs make him uncomfortable, Tyler needs to be the only dog in his home. While he has learned to peacefully coexist with familiar dogs after several weeks, he is happiest when he doesn’t have to navigate the stress of meeting or living with other dogs. Being an only pet will allow him to relax and build confidence much more quickly. Tyler is looking for an adopter who understands that trust isn’t built overnight. It took him about 2½ weeks in his foster home before he truly settled in, and the transformation has been remarkable. The timid, worried little dog became an affectionate companion who enjoys spending time with his trusted people and loves being part of the family. If you’re willing to give Tyler the time he needs, you’ll discover what his foster already knows: behind that cautious first impression is a loving, faithful companion who simply wants to feel safe and loved.   Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. Cookie came to us as a bonded pair with another Chi, Tiny, who we sadly lost in July of this year (2026). Cookie was the larger one at around 8lbs and is younger at only around 2 years old. She has been spayed since she came to us. Cookie can bark at strange men especially but did great with our male vet and team members she has been around, and seems to calm down after spending just a brief amount of time with them. She especially is a kisser and loves to love on people-awwww! She can be a vocal Chi so would not be appropriate for an apartment and seems to do ok with other dogs but we are still learning about how she will do after so recently losing Tiny, her husband (yes they were officially married!). She seems ok so far and just goes to his sleeping spots to see if he is there, so we are not sure is she would be better in a house as the only dog, or would be better with others.September 10, 2026, 6:03 pm

She seems good with other chill smaller dogs and still has a bit of that spicy Chi even though she's a senior to keep you laughing! She also seems to really like men and is very attached to her foster dad which is nice! Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness.In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. So now you know more about the firecracker named Peanut. He is a doll!! ADOPT....DON'T SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
