Ernie is officially available for adoption! -10yo, long haired chihuahua & 13lbs -Neutered, vax’d, chipped & hw neg -Dog, cat and people friendly -Crate and potty trained -Tripod -Sweet, loving boy -Very low energy Ernie was found as a stray in Seagoville along with his brother Bert and brought to the shelter. Ernie was chipped, but owners hung up when the shelter contacted them. Unfortunately, we realized soon after picking them up that Bert was hospice and did not have very long. Ernie has adapted well since loosing Bert. Ernie would do well in a home with other dogs, but equally happy as an only dog. He would be great for a senior (the rescue has a senior program too)! He got a dental, benign masses removed and his leg amputated and has adjusted very well! Ernie is a true couch potato & loves sleeping and lounging the entire day! We got Willy when he was 9 months old. He has always been a happy dog and he loves when people pet him. He also loves to go on walks in whatever weather. I hope that Willy can find a better home where he gets the attention he needs. A home where he is the main character and a place where he is truly loved.

Meena was taken to the Mesquite Shelter and was pregnant. Her baby was born in the shelter. When we got her she was untouchable and bity. Thank goodness she is now in general population but still cant be touched. Her baby really helps in getting her near. She is very close to her baby, Tiny, and looks to her when she gets uncomfortable. Therefore they will be adopted together. Meena and her baby Tiny has been with their foster since Tiny was born. Tiny is very socialized, but her momma isnt there yet. They can be adopted but will be adopted together, with the understanding that Meena is still a work in progress. You have to be ok, with knowing at this moment you cant really hold her. She will take treats out of your hands, she will sit and stare at you, she will even lay at the foot of your bed. We will require another dog in the household along with these two. When its time to be vetted, you will have to capture her, unless she is further along, to crate her and get her to the vet. She can not go unvetted because you cant catch her. Part of the package. This will require a very special person or family.
