Meet Marcus Marcus came to us from the Dallas shelter—again. He was previously adopted from there last year, but sadly, he was returned a month ago. Most dogs don’t get a second chance after staying that long without rescue, but somehow, Marcus held on. When we first saw him, he was trembling in his kennel. Today, he’s resting on a soft pillow, belly full, and finally starting to relax. He knows he’s safe now. Marcus is an oversized Chihuahua mix, about 9 years old and 18 pounds (though he could stand to lose a couple). He still needs a little time to fully decompress, but we already see glimpses of the sweet, gentle soul underneath the fear.
