This tiny, sweet girl was living all on her own until she was rescued and taken in to a wonderful foster home. She was so scared when rescuers saved her from the street, but within HOURS of being kissed and cuddled she melted into her foster mom's arms. If not on her FM's lap, she's cuddling with other dogs in her foster home. With her foster brother, they'll form a doggy pretzel when they wrap around each other. When lounging in the yard, she rotates among the chairs with fluffy cushions. She watches the critter activity but doesn't bark. In her foster home she is:* Quiet (not a yapper). A rare chi that would possibly be a good apartment dog!.* Housebroken (knows "go potty"). Goes into the yard or uses a potty pad.* Extremely affectionate (just give her a minute to get to know new faces)* Food motivated.* Gets along with dogs of all sizes. Would be fine with cats. * A homebody. Doesn't *need" walks and is not leash trained at this time. She seems happiest in her cushy chair. Cain is a 6 1/2 year old 14 pound chihuahua that thrives of attention. He's such a happy little guy especially when he's around children. He has never let the fact he's paralyzed from the waist down affect his demeanor or block his little ray of sunshine! He's also dog & cat friendly and loves people! Cain's favorite thing to do is burrow under a blanket as close to your body as he can but he doesnt mind sleeping in his own bed or play pen at night. In the mornings he is ready for some good neck scratches and attention from each child in his Foster Home. Food is the way to Cain's heart. He loves strawberries, apples, and egg with his medicine which he takes twice a day. He never appears to be in any pain and is so full of life and has so much love to give. He loves stroller rides, car rides and even days where he can just lay around with his favorite friend. Cain is learning to use the wheelchair but not yet a fan. He prefers the lifting harness to be carried. If you open the door to go outside, he will come flying down the hallway because he LOVES being outside!!!! The best part is how excited he gets, about food and people he loves. He does the "Cain Dance" where his ears go back, he smiles big while hopping around and spinning until you get on the floor and love on him. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable). Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.
