Story
Olivia is a special and sweet girl. She adores her human, has a mind of her own, and does not hesitate to let you know when she thinks she is not getting the attention she expects :) Her favorite thing seems to be to curl up under the blanket with her human and take long naps. She lives with 5 other dogs and is getting along great with them. She isn't scared to tell her big 50lb sister who is boss! She is very curious and wants to know what is going on at all times. She wants to be where you are to make sure she can keep an eye on you. Olivia has a few special needs, and is looking for a special family that will given her the extra care she requires. She can't use her back legs due to what might be a spinal injury. She does have sensation in both back legs though, so we started with some mobility exercises for a few months. We have also fitted her with a set of fancy pink wheels and she took to them immediately. They give her freedom, and she has quickly mastered how to navigate corners. She gets to wear them in the house several hours a day, until she decides she needs her precious naps. Now she zips around the house and the yard like a pro! She hasn't been doing exercises for some time now, however she has gained a bit more strength in her back legs and is able to stand up and take a few wobbly steps at a time. She also went for a short walk outside where she met several neighborhood kids and pups. More walks to come once the weather improves. Olivia is also a little incontinent, and that has been very easy to manage with washable diapers and a little help. Olivia has an amazingly inspiring zest for life and doesn't let this slow her down one bit. She is looking for her special family that will be willing to give her the little extra care she needs with loads of love that she absolutely demands :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Hi there! My name is Dory, and Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m a sweet 5-year-old chihuahua looking for my forever family! I have a best friend named Nemo, and while weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d love to find a home together, we understand if thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not possible. Like many chihuahuas, I can be shy at firstâ&#194&#128&#194&#148youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll need to earn my trust. But hereâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a little tip: if Nemo likes you, I warm up to you much faster! Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll even follow along with any commands heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s given once I see heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s comfortable. My favorite activities include sleeping, getting pets, going for walks, and cuddling up to Nemo. Weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re quite the dynamic duo! I get along well with other dogs and cats, too. I just need a patient, loving person whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll give me time to feel safe, and in return, I promise endless devotion (plus plenty of cozy nap sessions). If you think you might be the perfect home for me (and maybe Nemo, too!), please submit an application. I canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t wait to meet you! Story
Meet Suzy, the Sweet and Cuddly Chihuahua-Rat Terrier Mix! Suzy is a 6-year-old, 20-pound, black and brown Chihuahua-Rat Terrier mix with the most lovable personality. She loves cuddling, and her favorite thing is snuggling up on the couch with her humans. Suzy was adopted as a puppy and has been a cherished member of our family ever since. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, and in excellent health! Suzy is an energetic and playful pup who loves spending time with her people. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great with kids and has a ton of love to give. While sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not the best with other dogs (sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been bullied by them before), she thrives in a home where sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s the only dog and can enjoy all the attention. She is sweet, affectionate, and enjoys daily playtime, but also loves her downtime for cuddling. Suzyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ideal home is one where she can be the only dog, with plenty of love and playtime. Suzy is fully house-trained and leash-trained. She loves walks, playing with her favorite toys, and sometimes just lounging around the house. She knows basic commands and is very smart. She would do best in a home where someone can be around a lot, either working from home or with a family thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s home frequently. Weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re rehoming Suzy due to strong allergies that have developed in our household, and itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s with a heavy heart that we must find her a new loving home. Suzy will thrive in a family that understands her special needs and will give her all the love and attention she deserves. This sweet girl is ready for her forever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Suzy today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Suzy, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Hi there! My name is Nemo, and Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m a sweet 5-year-old chihuahua with a special twistâ&#194&#128&#194&#148a congenital defect in one of my front legs that makes me extra unique. Donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t worry, it doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t slow me down one bit! Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m all about cuddles, snuggles, and following my best friend, Dory, wherever she goes. I get along well with other dogs, but when it comes to snuggle time, I prefer to cozy up with Dory. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a bit more cautious, so she keeps an eye out for me while I welcome everyone with open paws. Together, we make an amazing team: her watchful nature and my friendly spirit complement each other perfectly! Dory and I would love to find a home together, but we understand if thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not possible. Meet Lola (aka Holly)   Lola is a healthy, active 9 month old deer headed chihuahua with a curious and playful personality.    Lola has a unique “one ear up and one ear down” look with pleading doe eyes that will melt anyone’s heart. She’s very curious and will ask to play by pawing at you and giving a distinct yap bark.    Lola is quite the food critic and prefers the refrigerated fresh pet ground turkey meal. She will let you know if she approves of food by eating in front of you loudly. If it is not her favorite food she will dismiss it then sneak back later and graze when no one is looking.    She is a very vocal dog with different sounds from howls to growls, each sound has a mood.    Lola still needs some work on her potty training but with time and patience she will catch on to a new home’s rules and routines.    To meet Lola, please fill out an application!    Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application.  Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption.   Dallas/Ft.
