Story
Olivia is a special and sweet girl. She adores her human, has a mind of her own, and does not hesitate to let you know when she thinks she is not getting the attention she expects :) Her favorite thing seems to be to curl up under the blanket with her human and take long naps. She lives with 5 other dogs and is getting along great with them. She isn't scared to tell her big 50lb sister who is boss! She is very curious and wants to know what is going on at all times. She wants to be where you are to make sure she can keep an eye on you. Olivia has a few special needs, and is looking for a special family that will given her the extra care she requires. She can't use her back legs due to what might be a spinal injury. She does have sensation in both back legs though, so we started with some mobility exercises for a few months. We have also fitted her with a set of fancy pink wheels and she took to them immediately. They give her freedom, and she has quickly mastered how to navigate corners. She gets to wear them in the house several hours a day, until she decides she needs her precious naps. Now she zips around the house and the yard like a pro! She hasn't been doing exercises for some time now, however she has gained a bit more strength in her back legs and is able to stand up and take a few wobbly steps at a time. She also went for a short walk outside where she met several neighborhood kids and pups. More walks to come once the weather improves. Olivia is also a little incontinent, and that has been very easy to manage with washable diapers and a little help. Olivia has an amazingly inspiring zest for life and doesn't let this slow her down one bit. She is looking for her special family that will be willing to give her the little extra care she needs with loads of love that she absolutely demands :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 12:17 am

Hoppy is a sweet senior gal who is looking for nothing more than a forever home with humans she can love on for the rest of her days. She is potty trained and good on a leash and actually has really good energy for an older pup. She loves going on walks and following her humans around the house. Having some pep is good for her since she loves her treats and dinners! She is fine with other dogs, but truly wants to be with her humans! Most of her playful days are behind her and she really just wants to snuggle! Hoppy has a sweet and expressive face and would love to entertain you for the rest of her days! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Story
This charming little weirdo is Duncan: a 4 year old tricolor chihuahua mix weighing in at 10 lbs. Despite having a hard start being born into a hoarding situation with 20+ other dogs in a small trailer in Fredricksburg, she still has the most goofy, sweet personality. She's a floppy-eared cuddle bug that desperately wants to be near her person, so it's guaranteed she'll at least have one paw on you at all times. If she's feeling neglected, you'll find her 'meerkat-ing' to get your attention (and hopefully a tummy rub). Duncan's silly antics and facial expressions will make you laugh even on the worst day. As fast as energy level, she is less marathon runner and more couch potato. Duncan is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines, on regular heartworm medication, and microchipped. She is crate-trained and house-trained, though not leash-trained. Duncan was diagnosed by a veterinary behaviorist with fear aggression and general fear/anxiety. She becomes attached to one person and is very protective of them, reacting with hostility toward anyone who approaches -- even with familiar people and in familiar settings. Duncan thrives in a calm environment with a female owner, without much or any exposure to additional people (of any age), without other animals, and ideally with someone who's somewhat experienced with fear aggressive dogs. I'm looking to rehome Duncan because I'm moving out of the country and am afraid her quality of life would suffer from the travel and transition. Although her behavioral issues can be challenging, she has made me so incredibly happy and I hope she can do the same for someone else who is willing to give her a chance. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Duncan II, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. If you are interested in applying to adopt this pet, fill out the application at the link above. This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program. Story
At just 5 lbs and 5 years old, Charlie Brown is the definition of small but mighty in sweetness. This tiny gentleman is low-energy, incredibly gentle, and would happily spend every hour of the day snuggled in your arms or curled up in your lap. Charlie Brown is potty trained, great in a crate, and a professional blanket burrower — you’ll often find him tucked under a cozy blanket with just his little nose peeking out. It’s impossibly cute. As a tiny guy in a big world, Charlie Brown can be a bit shy in public or around new guests, but once he finds a lap (or is scooped up for a cuddle), his confidence shines. His favorite way to ask for affection? He’ll gently place his tiny paw or even his whole head in your hand when he’s ready for pets — a move that melts hearts instantly. Charlie Brown does well with other dogs and prefers calm companionship and light play over rowdy activity. He’s beginning to show his playful side, too — when he gets excited, he does three little circles and taps his front paws, a signature move that’s as precious as it sounds.
