Meet Melly! Our 16 pound, female, Chihuahua. Melly is a sweet little chihuahua with a tender heart, one who takes a moment to size up new people, but warms beautifully once she feels safe. At first, she may be a bit cautious, watching the world with those bright, thoughtful eyes, but her gentle nature shines through quickly.Once she trusts you, Melly becomes the lapdog she was born to be. She loves settling into your arms, curling up on your legs, and soaking in every bit of affection. Melly would do amazingly with other dogs in the home. All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.

I'm a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and I originally lived in a home with 50 other dogs, so I didn't get much attention. I like attention from people and I bond strongly with those who love on me. I especially like ladies and it takes me a little longer to warm up to men. I would prefer a home without young children. I get along well with cats, and dogs that are my size or larger. If I say so myself, I am a beautiful 3 year old chihuahua mix. I like people, am friendly with other dogs and cats too (although if they run, I do like to chase them. Since most kitties are almost as big as me, I'm not sure what I would do if I caught up to one!) I have been enjoying my play dates at Velvet Snout with other dogs, and it helps me to burn off some energy. I really would like a yard where I can run around and chase the squirrels. I want to stay with my friend Piper Jones, because we love to play and I have a lot more confidence when I'm with her. My foster family says I have nice house manners! I started out in life in a hoarding situation with about 50 other dogs, so there wasn't much chance for me to get individual attention. I love it now!
