Story
Hi, I'm Piper Jones! People tell me that my fur is a beautiful blue color. It's funny, my foster family thinks that my coat should be red because I'm a little spicy! I'm a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and I originally lived in a home with 50 other dogs, so I didn't get much attention. I like attention from people and I bond strongly with those who love on me. I especially like ladies and it takes me a little longer to warm up to men. I would prefer a home without young children. I get along well with cats, and dogs that are my size or larger. I have lots of energy and love to run around the yard. I want to stay with my friend Mystic because we love to play and have more confidence when we're together.  Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Piper Jones the home she deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs. ##2476417##

Story
If I say so myself, I am a beautiful 3 year old chihuahua mix. I like people, am friendly with other dogs and cats too (although if they run, I do like to chase them. Since most kitties are almost as big as me, I'm not sure what I would do if I caught up to one!) I have been enjoying my play dates at Velvet Snout with other dogs, and it helps me to burn off some energy. I really would like a yard where I can run around and chase the squirrels. I want to stay with my friend Piper Jones, because we love to play and I have a lot more confidence when I'm with her.  My foster family says I have nice house manners! I started out in life in a hoarding situation with about 50 other dogs, so there wasn't much chance for me to get individual attention. I love it now! It takes me awhile to warm up particularly with men, but I will eventually learn to trust!  Come meet me at a Meet the Pets event or complete an adoption application!! Story
Meet Libby This 2-year-old, 8-pound brown Chihuahua is the definition of tiny but mighty. With eyes that will absolutely melt your heart, it’s hard to believe she was dumped on a rural country road with nine other dogs—left to fend for themselves against the elements and predators. Thankfully, our rescue team rushed in to get them all to safety. Libby is now thriving in foster care and embracing the life she always deserved. She’s a sweet, happy girl who loves soft beds, cozy laps, and all the pampering a princess could dream of. Libby is great with dogs, cats, and children. She’s crate trained and currently working on her potty and leash skills. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion to spoil and love, Libby would be a fabulous addition to just about any family. ##2431468##

Story
Meet Ella – the softest little sunbeam wrapped in a fluffy coat   At 5 years old and 11 pounds, Ella is a calm, quiet beauty who has life figured out: good food, warm sunshine, and a cozy place to lounge are the keys to happiness. And she fully intends to enjoy all three as often as possible.   This lovely long-coated chihuahua is as easygoing as they come. She’s not one for chaos or constant activity—Ella prefers a slower pace, where she can stretch out in the backyard, soak up the sun, and peacefully do her own thing. Leash walks? Not really her style. Think more garden strolls and patio lounging than neighborhood jogs.   Ella is a big fan of mealtime (enthusiastically so ), and she’ll happily remind you when it’s time for snacks. Balance that with her love for relaxation, and you’ve got yourself a perfectly content little companion.   She’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes, cats, and children, making her an easy fit for just about any home. She also loves car rides and will gladly join you for a laid-back cruise or a quick errand run.   Ella shares a special bond with her brother Leroy—they truly adore each other—but they do not have separation anxiety and can be adopted together or separately.   If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion who will happily lounge by your side (or in a sunny patch of grass like a tiny queen), Ella is ready to claim her throne in your home.   Adoption Application: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/13108/generic ##2728191##
