🐾 Meet Cookie! 🐾 This sweet boy is a male Chihuahua mix who’s ready to find his forever home! 💙 ✅ Neutered ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ House-trained Cookie is playful, affectionate, and LOVES roughhousing with other dogs. He’s also a total cuddlebug who enjoys sleeping in bed with his people and giving kisses. He’s smart, listens well, and loves being part of the action! 😘 He currently lives in a foster home with dogs, chickens, and birds — and gets along great with all of them. He will chase cats if they run, so a confident cat is best. 💬 He’s cautious with new people and will bark to let you know he’s unsure, so he needs a home that’s patient and willing to give him time to settle in and build trust. ❗️No young kids — Cookie does best in a calmer environment with adults or older, respectful teens. 🐕‍🦺 We’d love to see him in a home with another playful dog — he really thrives when he has a buddy! 🏃‍♂️ He’s an active little guy, so his ideal home will be one that enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. 📍Ready to meet him? Apply today at: www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com Give Cookie the chance to settle in — and he’ll reward you with endless love. 🐶❤️ #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #ChihuahuaMix #PlayfulPup #MainStreetMuttRescue #AdoptCookie

Story
Looking for a small dog with big emotions and a PhD in Overthinking? Meet this 4 year old Chihuahua who is UTD on shots, microchipped, and neutered. He is a sentient tremor wrapped in fur who is 90% nerves and 10% audacity. He wakes up every day shocked that the world still exists and is approaching everything with extreme caution and side eye. He is not a beginner dog. He is a graduate level emotional support project. Progress will be slow, awkward, and occasionally dramatic but it will happen, especially if you come bearing his three sacred offerings: peanut butter, dehydrated chicken, and Churus. These treats temporarily deactivate his fear response and unlock his inner cat dog goblin. He requires another playful, friendly dog in the home to act as his emotional support coworker and living proof that couches, humans, and life in general are not lethal. (This is non negotiable.) He is cat friendly.  He’s seeking a quiet, adult only home (no kids). Women are his preferred demographic, but a calm, patient, dog savvy man may be allowed after a background check, a waiting period, and approximately 70 snack bribes. This Chihuahua will not immediately love you. He will not appreciate your enthusiasm. He will judge you silently from across the room. But if you enjoy earning trust the hard way, celebrating wins like “stood near me without panicking,” and being chosen by a dog who takes loyalty very seriously, congratulations you may be worthy. Warning: once bonded, he will follow you everywhere and police your snack consumption with authority. If you are ready to share patience, love and snacks woth Georgie, please fill out a Statement of Interest for him. ##2533435##

**THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE DIRECT CARE OF HAPPY TAILS HAPPY HOMES - WE ARE ASSISTING IN THE REHOMING WITH ITS CURRENT OWNERS. If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform** Chip (affectionately known as Chippy) is a 6-month-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a deeply loyal and affectionate nature. He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives when he can stay close to the humans he trusts. Chip is sensitive, intelligent, and playful, and he does best with routine, structure, and consistency. Chip has special behavioral needs related to anxiety and would be happiest in a calm, low-stimulation home with an experienced dog owner. He has been evaluated by a veterinarian, and his behaviors — including a repetitive spinning behavior — are believed to be anxiety- or OCD-related rather than neurological. He is crate trained and views his crate as a safe, comforting space where he can settle and decompress. Because of his sensitivity, Chip is not a good fit for a busy or chaotic household. He would do best in a quiet adult home without young children. He can be nervous and vocal around new people at first, but once given time and patience, he warms up and shows his sweet, affectionate personality. His interactions with other dogs can be hit or miss, so he would likely thrive as an only pet or with very slow, thoughtful introductions. Chip was rescued from a shelter at approximately three months old, and his early background is unknown. With patience, structure, and continued training, he has the potential to be a deeply rewarding companion for the right person who understands anxious dogs and is willing to meet him where he is. We are committed to ensuring the best possible match for Chip. Full details, videos, and veterinary records are available to serious adopters. He requires an experienced, patient home, and we are happy to continue fostering him until the right placement is found — one where he can feel safe, understood, and truly at home.

Story
This cutie is Turkey Thanksgiving. She is currently 5 months old and weighs approximately 7 pounds. We think they may be a Chihuahua, Cattle dog mix* Turkey is currently living in a foster home with 2 other small dogs and is doing amazing! She loves to play, but also knows when to chill out and relax. She loves chasing after a toy, and fetching that toy. She’s also learning how to walk on a leash and going on walks with her foster family! She is the most cuddly pup ever though when she’s ready for snuggles! Turkey is in a foster home, so she is learning how to be the best pup ever! She is working on crate training, as well as potty training, but she is getting better day by day! Watch Turkey Thanksgiving playful personality here: https://youtu.be/lNRWx12lANg?si=UJIo0v-xsOloDANE Turkey is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with her siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! This cutie is Gizma. She is currently 3 months old and weighs approximately 11.9 pounds. We think they may be a Chihuahua/Terrier mix*, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place.
