Story
Cookie is a male Chihuahua mix. He's trained, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His foster says he's great with other dogs and loves to play and roughhouse. He's cautious of new people and will bark to let you know he's uncomfortable. He gives kisses and loves to sleep in bed with his people. Cuddling works too! He's very sweet and loving and at listening to commands! He currently lives with, dogs, chickens and birds. He gets along with all of them but will chase cats if they run, so a confident cat would be best. We'd prefer to see him in a with at least other dog because he loves to play! applications are at www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com

Story
Meet Greg – A Brave Heart with a Gentle Soul Greg has had a rough start in life, but you’d never guess it from his playful spirit and wagging tail. Since arriving at his foster home, he’s been learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. With patience, love, and guidance from his foster mom and her dogs, Greg is growing braver every day. He’s mostly housebroken, though he still uses a pee pad on occasion. Greg is currently working on getting comfortable with a leash, so he’ll need a securely fenced yard and a patient adopter willing to help him continue building confidence at his own pace. Greg adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy. He loves to chase, wrestle, and share toys with his four-legged friends. Speaking of toys, Greg is a big fan – especially ones that hide treats and challenge his clever nose. Though he’s not a lap dog, Greg shows affection in sweet, unique ways. He loves being scratched behind the ears and will gently grab your hand if you stop too soon. At bedtime, he turns into a cuddle bug, happily snuggling in close for the night. He’s very food-motivated and will follow you around just for a chance at a treat – a great trait for continued training! Greg also gets the zoomies and flashes the cutest smile when he’s excited. He’s been around kids, dogs, and even birds. While quick movements from little ones can still make him nervous, he’ll quietly sit beside calm children and observe curiously. For this reason, a home with older, respectful kids would be ideal. Greg is a sweet, sensitive boy who’s made incredible progress. All he needs now is a forever home that understands his gentle nature, continues his training, and showers him with the love and stability he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal friend with a big heart and playful soul, Greg just might be your perfect match.

Story
Maxy is a 7 year old Chihuahua mix who is a recent hind leg amputee with a zest for life. He’s about 20 pounds and should remain slim to help with joint health. He’s microchipped, up-to-date on shots and neutered. His leg was deformed after a car incident and it was really just holding him back. He is a great boy who loves his walks, treats, and most people. When out on walks he does really well with not pulling on the leash. He is also laid back enough that if he’s next to you with a blanket on him, he will stay there for hours! Sometimes Maxy is too passionate about things. He gets along okay with his foster dog siblings, but does need some help remembering he’s not in charge of everyone. He takes their corrections well and doesn’t retaliate, which is nice of him! When meeting new dogs he growls, but so far it usually stops there. As long as the other dog is secure and laid back we don’t have issues.  There are cats in his current foster home and he’s shown some interest once but hasn’t harmed them. Maxy is currently working through some itchy skin stuff and we’re trying to figure out how to help him with it long-term, but he sure is cute when he scratches his back on door frames!  Whether you need a snuggle buddy or an adventure buddy, he wants to fill that spot! Story
Eggnog is a charming 8-year-old Poodle/Chihuahua mix who weighs 15lbs. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and has recently had a dental with extractions. Eggnog came to us after being a long-time stray, and he's now learning to adjust to life as an indoor pet again. Eggnog absolutely loves playing fetch and having fun with toys! He's a playful little guy and enjoys spending time engaging with his favorite people. While he does well with confident cats and dogs, Eggnog does have some resource guarding tendencies. Due to this, we believe he would be best suited as an only dog and would not thrive in a home with young children. He has not been exposed to livestock or children. Despite his past, Eggnog is a total lap dog and thrives on affection. He loves to be held and enjoys going on walks and car adventures. His overall health is excellent—recent bloodwork was done, and there were no concerns. He’s not currently on any medications. Eggnog is an incredibly loyal companion who will love you wholeheartedly. He’s a special boy looking for his forever home. If you think you could provide the love and care Eggnog deserves, please visit the Alternative Humane Society website to fill out a statement of interest. Eggnog can’t wait to meet his new family! ##2249906##

Story
Meet Andy Andy is an adorable Chihuahua-Corgi mix (or at least, that’s our best guess!) with a heart full of love and a deep desire for companionship. He thrives in the company of his humans and would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day—he’ll miss you the moment you leave! Currently living with other small dogs, Andy would do well in a home with canine friends but could also soak up all the love as your one-and-only. A yard would be a dream for him, giving him the perfect spot to bask in the sun and enjoy the fresh air. Whether in a family home or with a single adopter, Andy is ready to be someone’s loyal shadow, best friend, and constant source of comfort. If you’re looking for a pup who will adore you endlessly, Andy is the one for you! Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67a3f42f40a71f0b420dc5f1 Questions? You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
