Calvin was found as a pup with a fractured femoral head of unknown origin. Amputation was his best chance at a normal life, and please believe that missing leg stops him from NOTHING!  Calvin has no trouble navigating a couple stairs, flying across the yard, or getting onto lower furniture. As is the need for limb removal wasn’t enough for a young dog to endure, he also underwent cherry eye repair at the same time. Now, its just soulful and healthy brown eyes staring at you adoringly! While he is a doggy pal loving sweet snuggle bug, Calvin also comes with his quirks. He can be very stubborn and is set in his ways for a youngster. Calvin walks well on a leash, but if theres someone he wants to meet and you keep try to keep strolling- not happening. He’ll give a good screech and plant his feet, and you will be making that person’s acquaintance!  He is also not a fan of other dogs near him when he is ready to crash. He enjoys resting/sleeping in a kennel and will get grumpy with any dogs who bug him while he is snuggled in on the furniture. (Who could blame him?!)  Once he’s had his rest, he is ready to romp around with doggy pals and play with toys once again! Calvin doesn’t bark often- but will if he is getting amped with another dog. If you share a wall with neighbors this is something to keep in mind if he wouldn’t be a solo dog.  Calvin loves car rides and does well going to work with foster mom. He is great at meeting new people, but is mouthy when he gets super excited. He is working hard on more polite play, but it may be best if he did not live with young children at this time.  Calvin doesn’t much like nail trims, but will pose we like a pro for every photo your heart desires, and is top notch company!   Our Pack Animal Rescue,  Inc. Meet Lucy! This confident, silly, playful girl is ready to find a family of her own! Lucy is potty trained, does wonderfully in her kennel, and settles quietly when it’s time to relax. She enjoys leashed walks, loves being outdoors, and has plenty of energy for an active family. She can go on long walks without tiring, but she isn’t destructive in the home. Lucy is deaf, but she doesn’t let that slow her down! She is a wonderful dog who goes about her day just like any other dog. Her deafness doesn’t affect her ability to enjoy life or interact with her people, although recall will be something her new family will need to approach differently. She should be able to learn commands and cues through hand signals and other visual communication. Lucy LOVES people and happily approaches new people with enthusiasm. She has done well with children, including 8-year-olds who have held and interacted with her. When she’s tired out, she turns into a cuddly little snuggle bug. She’s also known for being kissy from time to time! Playtime is one of Lucy’s favorite things. She loves chasing dogs around the yard, running after balls, and chewing on antlers, bully sticks, and Kongs. She would love a playful dog companion or an active family who can keep up with her energy. Lucy has also lived with cats. She is interested in them and will try to play, but she has not shown aggression toward them. She generally ignores them unless they approach her. That said, Lucy is a playful, energetic dog, so her cat interactions should be supervised and managed appropriately. Her fosters cats are dog-savvy, and her foster family is comfortable stepping in when her enthusiasm gets the best of her. If you're looking for a dog who will completely ignore your cats, Lucy may not be the right match. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus for Lucy, as she loves having space to run, play, or simply stretch out in the grass. Lucy is the perfect combination of big-dog personality in a smaller body.
