Story
Meet Waffles, a sweet and happy little girl with a heart of gold! Waffles is super smart, well-behaved, and sweet as can be. She is food-motivated but not food-obsessed, which has helped with training. She’s already nailed “sit” and hasn’t had one accident since entering her foster home - so incredible! Waffles has been sleeping through the night and loves to snuggle in bed. She’s also very communicative and observant, making her incredibly intuitive when it comes to taking direction and connecting with her foster family.
Even though she has the prettiest brown eyes, it’s her left ear that really takes center stage. Perpetually windblown, she blows Heidi Klum out of the water!
Waffles loves to play and explore! As soon as you let her out of her enclosure, she’s all wiggles and smiles. She has a super strong nose, which she loves to follow as it leads her on little adventures around the yard, investigating the hot gossip among the bumblebees and flowers.
Waffles is definitely a people pup. She jumps at the chance to cuddle with her foster parents and sit on their laps, but also does great in her crate, only giving a few soft cries before settling down or playing independently with her toys.
Despite her small size, Waffles has a beautiful confidence and self-assuredness about her. With new dogs, stray kitties, and strangers, she initially approaches with caution and keeps her distance until she knows she’s safe. She’s warming up faster and faster as she becomes more socialized. But once Waffles feels comfortable, playtime is ON! For humans, that means wiggles and kisses. With her puppy foster brother, it means light wrestling!
Waffles had been so impressive when it comes to getting to know her massive 75+ lb Great Pyr puppy foster brother. Despite initially being intimidated by his size and booming bark, she has shown so much excitement and patience as he figures out the power of his paws. During their play sessions, she’s quick to gently let him know if he’s being too rough without escalating the situation. She’s truly a great communicator and so brave!
Waffles is currently living with two kitties. She’s still figuring them out but mostly lets them be. When she does approach them, she may bark and stomp her feet in an attempt to get them to play, but she’s easily redirected.
Waffles would do best in a home where she can get lots of love, snuggles, and continued socialization. If you’re looking for a sweet and affectionate little sidekick with one gorgeous floppy ear, Waffles is your girl!
