Story
Meet Papitas Sofritas Fajitas! Papitas came to us as a foster from NoCo Humane’s Loveland campus, and after learning the shelter was overcrowded, we couldn’t bear to send her back. This sweet girl is the perfect mix of cuddle bug and adventure buddy. She loves hiking, exploring, chasing toys, and squeaky toys are her absolute favorite. Papitas is also quite the conversationalist and will happily “talk back” when you talk to her! She has lived successfully with both dogs and cats and is a polite housemate who will paw at you when she’s ready for a potty break. While she’s brave in many ways, thunderstorms and fireworks aren’t her favorite, and she appreciates a cozy place to feel safe during loud weather. If you’re looking for a loving best friend who can join you on the trail and then snuggle up on the couch afterward, Papitas is your girl. Adopt Papitas and make every day Taco Tuesday!

Meet Pixie Abandoned on the Side of the Road as a Tiny Puppy—Now Ready for a Lifetime of Love ❤️ Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier Mix Gender: Female | DOB: December 02, 2025 | Weight/Size: 13 pounds (Small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats ✔️ | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Spayed | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Pixie's Story Pixie's story began with heartbreak. She was part of a litter of puppies abandoned on the side of the road with no one to protect or care for them. Left alone at such a young age, Pixie and her siblings faced an uncertain future. Fortunately, compassionate rescuers found them before it was too late, giving Pixie the opportunity to grow up surrounded by love instead of hardship. Today, Pixie is a healthy, happy young dog with a joyful spirit that shines wherever she goes. She has a playful personality, a wagging tail, and an affectionate heart that makes it easy to fall in love with her. Whether she's chasing a toy, exploring the yard, or cuddling beside you after a day of fun, Pixie is happiest when she's with her people. She is friendly, social, and loves making new friends. Pixie gets along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and cats, making her an excellent addition to many different types of families. She enjoys being included in everyday activities and is always ready to share kisses, cuddles, and plenty of puppy enthusiasm. As a Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier Mix, Pixie combines the loyal devotion of the Chihuahua with the intelligence, confidence, and playful energy of the Jack Russell Terrier. She's eager to learn, loves staying active, and enjoys spending quality time with the people she loves. Pixie would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks and playtime Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where she's treated as a cherished member of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Pixie has already overcome a difficult beginning, and now she's ready for a future filled with happiness, security, and a family who will love her forever. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Although Pixie is still young, she's at the perfect age to continue learning and building confidence. Like all rescue dogs, she'll need a little time to adjust to her new surroundings and routine. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Pixie is intelligent, eager to please, and enjoys learning through positive reinforcement. Continued training and socialization will help her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult. Her new family should continue providing: Positive reinforcement training Daily exercise and interactive play Consistent routines and gentle guidance Continued socialization with people and other animals Mental enrichment through toys and games Plenty of love, patience, and encouragement With kindness and consistency, Pixie will become a loyal companion who brings joy and laughter to her forever home. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Pixie is a lifelong commitment that includes providing excellent veterinary care, exercise, companionship, and a loving home. As part of responsible pet ownership, Pixie will need: Annual veterinary wellness examinations Routine vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A nutritious diet to maintain a healthy weight Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment Continued training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home where she is treated as a cherished member of the family We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Pixie continues to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
