Maple is a young, Dachshund-type mix who came to SDBP CT Rescue after being found as a stray and going unclaimed at Animal Control. She became our very first official Animal Control pull, and this little girl has already stolen quite a few hearts! Maple is an incredibly sweet and gentle girl, but she can be shy and timid when meeting new people or encountering unfamiliar situations. Once she begins to feel comfortable and realizes she's safe, her affectionate personality starts to shine through. She's the kind of dog who needs someone willing to earn her trust rather than rush her into situations she isn't quite ready for. **🍁 What we've learned about Maple so far:** Maple seems to enjoy the company of calmer dogs who respect her personal space. She can become uncomfortable when overly energetic or pushy dogs approach her too quickly, so any potential canine siblings would need to be thoughtfully matched and introduced at her pace. She's currently settling into her foster home, where we're continuing to learn more about her personality, preferences, and what makes her feel comfortable. **🏡 Maple's ideal forever home** We're looking for a patient, loving family who understands that building trust takes time. A relatively calm, predictable environment where Maple can settle in, establish a routine, and gain confidence would be wonderful for her. She may do well with another calm, respectful dog, but she could also enjoy being someone's one-and-only little companion. Her compatibility with cats and young children has not yet been established. Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. This handsome hunk of a peanut is Frijol! He came into rescue with his sister Arroz (their names mean beans and rice!) when their family was going through a major hardship and was unable to continue caring for them. They came into the pound and were so scared, and the volunteers hearts just broke for them. Thankfully a wonderful couple who volunteers agreed to foster these two adorable little darlings until they find forever homes! Frijol is an incredible little guy who is 3 years old and weighs 14 lbs. He’s thicker like a doxie, and is just absolutely adorable! He’s been to the vets and had everything done! Hes now current on vaccines, deworming, preventative, and heartworm tested negative. He has also been microchipped and neutered! This guy is healthy and happy, and ready to start his next beautiful chapter in life! Frijol is white a ham. He is an avid snuggler and has fantastic house manners. When he came into foster care he was so scared, mourning the loss of his family and going thru so many transitions. He kept to himself for the first day and shortly began to really blossom. He’s a playful sweet little man who truly just longs to be someone’s devoted companion and snuggle buddy. He is excellent going potty outside and reliably will go on either pee pads or out in the yard. He enjoys his playtime with toys and loves his treats, but has an overall easy going activity level. He’s happy to take walks and go for car rides, he likes his toys, and gets excited about fun new things. That said, he is also happy to lay by your side snuggled up while you do work, read a book or watch a movie. His dream is to find a forever home that is easy going where he will be able to snuggle up on the sofa and in bed with his parents, and soak up lots of love! He’s living with other pups now but will do just fine as an only pup, he is also excellent with cats! Just looking for a warm, soft, peaceful, loving, happy home to call his own. This absolutely adorable, silly, handsome little snugglebug is Chiclet! This sweet hunk of a baby boy came into a pound and everyone was absolutely smitten with this baby! He has just the best temperament and is so darling, they wanted to ensure that he would find an incredible home! When they reached out, fortunately a fantastic foster home opened their doors to give this guy lots of love and care until he finds his dream home! This boy is full grown at 8 months old and 21.8 lbs. He is a perfect size in that he’s small, but big enough to enjoy hiking, play dates with all size dogs, lots of snuggles, and he’s easy to walk on a leash and take anywhere! He’s had all medical work now completed and he’s current on vaccines, deworming, preventative, heartworm tested negative, and he’s been neutered and microchipped! He’s a healthy stout adorable little fellow and is officially ready for adoption! Chiclet arrived to foster care and instantly settled in and did amazingly well. He’s a social butterfly who enjoys the company of all kinds of animals, he’s great and playful with other dogs, he is good with cats, you name it and his personality has just been so friendly and outgoing. He picked up the household routine quickly and has had great manners reliably going potty outside. He enjoys toys and has medium active puppy play energy.
