Story
Eve is an adorable little girl who was picked up as a stray. She is just a puppy, approximately 4 months old. Weighing 13 lbs, she is believed to be a chiweenie breed with maybe a pug mixed in with the breed. We do know she will probably be on the smaller size dog. Eve would make a great addition to any family. She would love to go on walks, hikes, or even jogs with her human. Cozying up on the couch would be a plus for Eve, too. She is a good cuddler. She will be ready to travel in a few weeks. Go ahead and apply to adopt this sweet little girl. This puppy is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
This poor little guy was found stray with a broken leg. It has been surgically repaired, and he is healing well. He is a very nice little dog, thought to be around 18 years old but has spirit and love to give. He is quiet and clean and would be a great senior dog for someone who wants to help. And he sees and hears and loves to explore.

Story
This is "Nosey" and her sister, "Canela". They are 4 years old. They come to us from a litter of 4, 1 male and 3 females. Nosey is a Chihuahua and Canela is a Chihuahua/Spaniel mix also known as a "Chi-Spaniel". Nosey is in the first and second picture. Canela is in the third and fourth picture. Their owner has to find homes for the dogs because he has cancer and is undergoing treatment and he cannot take care of the dogs. We could only take 2 of the dogs. We took Nosey and Canela. We hope the other 2 dogs will go to another rescue soon. It is so sad these dogs don't know where they are going. Nosey and Canela are very very nice little dogs and they have such wonderful temperaments. And they are not fussy eaters! They are okay with other small dogs or even a calm bigger dog. They are okay with cats also. Sad to say, none of the dogs have ever been to a veterinarian. As soon as our veterinarian comes back from vacation, Nosey and Canela will go and get fully vetted. You MUST own your own home. You MUST own your own condo. Absolutely no apartments! Children must be 6 years old or older. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Nosey and Canela is $400.00 to $450.00 each due to the high cost of veterinarian care. If you are interested in Nosey and/or Canela, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. You can meet Nosey on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
APPLY FOR COCOA I'm Cocoa, a charming little guy at around 10 months old. I'm a handsome Chihuahua mix tipping the scales at 13 lbs, and I won't be growing much larger. I've been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated to keep me healthy and happy.   My journey has been a bit of a whirlwind. I found myself wandering as a stray until I landed at the doorstep of a kind elderly lady who took me in and showed me compassion by feeding me and giving me lots of love. It's because of her that I'm now on the lookout for my forever family. Though my start in life had its challenges, my heart remains full of sweetness. I might be a tad shy at first, but I quickly open up to those who show me kindness. I'm quite fond of other dogs and children, and I tend to overlook cats, so I’d fit in well even in a household with feline friends.   What I dream of most is a forever family who will play with me and continue my training—I'm just as clever as I am lovable! I hope to find my family super soon.    ADOPTION FEE: $663  ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:  Alteration, Microchip, Vaccines APPLICATION: Click here to apply IF YOU HAVE OWNED A PET IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, PLEASE CALL YOUR VET AHEAD OF TIME TO ALLOW RESCUES TO SPEAK TO THEM APPLY FOR COCOA ##2555913##
