Story
Meet Andy! Born on 2/3/26, this adorable 12 lb. Chihuahua/Dachshund (“chiweenie”) mix is a sweet, gentle puppy with a loving personality and a heart full of affection. He came to Connecticut from Texas with his brother, Arlo, after his mom and some of his siblings were adopted. Now Andy is ready to find a furever family to call his own. Andy has a calmer, easygoing personality and loves spending time with both people and other dogs. He enjoys squeaky toys, playing fetch, exploring outside, and then curling up for snuggles afterward. He’s especially respectful of the senior dogs in his foster home and has a gentle, well-mannered nature for such a young pup. Like any puppy, Andy is still learning house training and leash walking, but he’s very food motivated, smart, and eager to please. He already responds well to commands like “no” and “drop it,” and does wonderfully with gentle correction and consistency. He would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion or an active family ready to continue helping him learn and grow. Andy was born with partial sight in his right eye. That eye took a little longer to open as a newborn and still has some cloudiness, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He gets around wonderfully and enjoys life just like any other happy puppy. Sweet, affectionate, and full of charm, Andy would make an amazing companion for a lucky family looking for a playful best friend with a softer, snuggly side. His adoption fee is $500 and Andy is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered in July when of age so you must return to our vet for that procedure. Story
One of 5 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation where more went to other rescues. Lyle and his siblings lived in squalor in Visalia CA until the owner died and they were pulled out by animal control officers in Hazmat suits! It was gross! The dogs had dreadfully long nails, live fleas feasting on the pups and skin conditions to show it. None was fixed and all were frightened but all love affection and were actually socialized to some extent. Lyle was initially fearful of humans, NEVER aggressive and now loves everyone. He was an annoying barker and still does have a voice when new people enter the room but overall he is a great and cute loving guy who you cant help but be drawn to. Housetraining needs to be monitored.but he is much better now He is such a sweet guy, volunteer favorite. Bosses the other dogs and thinks he is pretty important. Due to his fearfulness he needs a fenced yard as he has been known to bolt. Loves being help and loves slee[ong with (on) his human. He has bad breathe and always has but decent teeth so it must be his tummy. He is a very cool dog and we love him very much. His fur is thick and wavy. Adoption fee 345.
