Story
****THESE 4 PUPPIES ARE LOCATED IN WINDSOR LOCKS, CT AND MUST BE MET AROUND THAT LOCATION**** The foster that has them has said this about them: They are coming out of their shell and learning how to play with toys and each other. They are playful now! They are learning to love their children who are young. The children are very gentle though, so any children must be very gentle as they can still be a bit timid. It doesn’t seem like the 2 with longer hair shed - so they could be considered hypoallergenic. They are mostly house trained, YAY!! Time and consistency will allow them to master this 100% General information: Available for adoption is our delicious Mexican dish puppies! These sweet babies are about 12 weeks old and are the gentlest furbabies. Nacho, Tamale, Fajita and Birria are ready to find their forever homes. They have not had an easy life. They grew up under a house on the Texas/Mexico border in a small town called Pharr, Texas, where they had no human interaction. The owners of the home wanted nothing to do with them. A good Samaritan had seen them and offered to help. Over the course of a few days, they were able to get all 4 puppies to safety and in a foster. There are 2 males and 1 female: Tamale – Female – Schnauzer/Dachshund mix – Tri Color – Wirehair – Minimal shedding – 5.5 lbs as of 4/28/25 Nacho – Male – Dachshund/Chi mix – Black/Tan – Short hair – biggest of the litter at 7.5 lbs as of 4/28/25 (loves toys more than the others!) Birria – Male – Schnauzer/Dachshund mix – Tri Color – Wirehair – Minimal shedding – 5.8 lbs as of 4/28/25 These babies are very timid. They have been fostered with cats and other dogs, and we strongly suggest having another FRIENDLY, confident dog in the home to help them come out of their shell. When you baby talk them or talk sweet to them, they wag their tails and want to trust you, but they just don’t know how yet. They are very gentle babies. Not aggressive at all, just unsure. We do not recommend small/young children with these babies. They are too nervous and loud sounds, too much going on in a household will only cause them to withdraw further. An ideal home for these babies is one that is calm, quieter and very patient. We know with lots of love and time these puppies will thrive. They are just learning what everything is – toys, treats, play time, cuddle time, and love. If you think you have the perfect home for one of these babies, please consider applying to adopt – You can fill out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org They are current on vaccinations, dewormed, current on flea/heartworm/tick meds, microchipped and will have a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption.

Story
Roses are red; violets are blue; Bella is a sweetheart and just waiting for you! Bella is a 5 year old, gentle, a bit shy, 10 lb petite pup who was rescued from the streets of Hartford by a good Samaritan; sadly, she was being given away to anyone who wanted her. However, being discarded did not change her affectionate, cuddly and lovable nature at all! She is good with dogs her size, but seems to prefer people to canines (no large dogs, please). Her favorite things are taking short walks, being with her person, lap time, pets and being silly...she is simply a great little girl! Bella would do best in an adult, quieter home. She is spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. Open your heart and home to Bella and I know you will enjoy a wonderful companion for years to come! Applications from Connecticut and the New England are appreciated. I do not ship my rescued dogs. Thank you.

Story
Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is a little shy but warms up quickly. She is a lapdog who loves pets and cuddles. She likes treats and will toss them around and play with them before she eats them. And she loves snow! Nina would be content as an only dog, or in a home with another dog with a similar temperament and playstyle. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Glastonbury, Danbury, Lisbon CT, or another scheduled stop closest to you.
