She is quite possibly **one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet**. Once Lilly trusts you, she loves deeply and wants nothing more than to be close to her person. But there is something important her future family needs to understand: **Lilly is scared. Really scared.** New people, unfamiliar places, sudden movement, noise, and changes in her surroundings can overwhelm her. Her first instinct is not aggression—it is to **run, hide, and make herself disappear until she feels safe**. That means Lilly does not need someone who expects her to become their best friend in five minutes. She needs someone patient enough to let **her decide when five minutes becomes five days—or five weeks.** And when she finally comes to you on her own? That trust will mean everything. Welcome Bonnie to CCPAL Rescue. Bonnie is a 4.5 pound Chiweenie. That is Dashchund/Chihuahua. She is 10 weeks old. She has a beautiful fade coloration from tan to black. She has a little longer body and one down and one sideways ear. She is good in a crate, likes to be held. She is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. She will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so she will be fine with that. She would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. Dashchund and Chihuahua are typically vocal but if you raise as a puppy and correct her by saying “no” this should help as an adult. She would be fine in a doggy daycare as she is very social. People who have had this breed love it for the loyalty to their human. She is getting spayed and all her vaccinations at the Rescue. She is ready for her forever home. She would be best in a home with someone that doesn’t work all day every day, as she will need to finish up her puppy training. She would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in the CCPAL Rescue in Texas. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She has a fawn coat that is a little longer than the typical short coat. She has a little longer body and both ears hang long and low. She is good in a crate, likes to be held. She is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. She will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so she will be fine with that. She would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. Dashchund and Chihuahua are typically vocal but if you raise as a puppy and correct her by saying “no” this should help as an adult. She would be fine in a doggy daycare as she is very social. Right now, I would say she is very sweet and very cuddly. People who have had this breed love it for the loyalty to their human. She is getting spayed and all her vaccinations at the Rescue. Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. This handsome hunk of a peanut is Frijol! He came into rescue with his sister Arroz (their names mean beans and rice!) when their family was going through a major hardship and was unable to continue caring for them. They came into the pound and were so scared, and the volunteers hearts just broke for them. Thankfully a wonderful couple who volunteers agreed to foster these two adorable little darlings until they find forever homes! Frijol is an incredible little guy who is 3 years old and weighs 14 lbs. He’s thicker like a doxie, and is just absolutely adorable! He’s been to the vets and had everything done! Hes now current on vaccines, deworming, preventative, and heartworm tested negative. He has also been microchipped and neutered! This guy is healthy and happy, and ready to start his next beautiful chapter in life! Frijol is white a ham. He is an avid snuggler and has fantastic house manners. When he came into foster care he was so scared, mourning the loss of his family and going thru so many transitions. He kept to himself for the first day and shortly began to really blossom. He’s a playful sweet little man who truly just longs to be someone’s devoted companion and snuggle buddy. He is excellent going potty outside and reliably will go on either pee pads or out in the yard. He enjoys his playtime with toys and loves his treats, but has an overall easy going activity level. He’s happy to take walks and go for car rides, he likes his toys, and gets excited about fun new things. That said, he is also happy to lay by your side snuggled up while you do work, read a book or watch a movie. His dream is to find a forever home that is easy going where he will be able to snuggle up on the sofa and in bed with his parents, and soak up lots of love! He’s living with other pups now but will do just fine as an only pup, he is also excellent with cats! Just looking for a warm, soft, peaceful, loving, happy home to call his own. If you are looking for a professional true crime watcher and lap sitter look no further! Since you’re reading this, you’re obviously looking for a new best friend and, hey, so am I! My name is Buddy, and I am an adorable, incredibly affectionate Dachshund who is also a very young 7-ish years old. I would describe myself as medium sized however my current foster Mom thinks I’m a little chonky. I DO love snacks and am very food motivated. She has said that I am very handsome, stunning with loving eyes and love kissing her and giving her all the affection and kisses. I DO enjoy baths and love the attention that I receive on spa days! I have a unique personality, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone reach for a leash and or lead to take me outside for a walk or just to play and roll in the grass. I am still working on my leash manners and I foresee in time, being able to be more patient and allow you to keep up with me. I have enjoyed roaming in the fenced in yard and smelling the roses, literally. I am happy to load up into the vehicle and go for rides. I love looking out the windows and sight seeing!During the day, while my foster folks are at work, I am happy to lay around my open crate in the same room with my foster sister while we wait for them to come home. I am learning to not jump when we get company or someone comes over due to my excitement and will, with patience, learn to be calmer. I slept in the crate at night a couple of times, but my foster mom got lonely, so I got in bed with her and my foster sister (she is 70 pounds! Talk about chonky!).I do seem to get along well with other dogs and recently went for a nail trim and there were several dogs there to meet and greet, and we all seemed to like each other and get along. The groomer and I bonded instantly, and I do make friends quickly. I am interested in the cat here, where I stay, but she doesn’t like me…you know how uppity some cats can be. I think my ideal human(s) would be either a quiet older person or a retired couple who could devote their time to me. I bond strongly with my special person and am looking for someone who can be home with me, and we can solve true crime shows together. I don’t care for sudden movements or loud noises and will be discerning about new people, so I don’t think that I would like to be around small children. I think that small people and their energy may be overwhelming to me, but I hear that’s typical for pups like me. I am a very smart boy who prefers routine and will alert (bark) when I want to go outside to potty or just get out of the house, of course I know that a treat is coming when I’ve been a “good boy”. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN.
