Story
With a heavy heart, we have to rehome our beautiful, sweet, Cookie. Due to our child's allergies and asthma. She's a bi-eyed Chiweenie with a real sweet spot for her family. Very protective of her people. Once she gets to know strangers she accepts them as family. She's 1.5 years old her birthday is 10/28/24. She loves to play fetch and had more snuggles than any pup out there. She's a barker. Will alert to anyone who gets close. We'd like her to be with a family who can appreciate how loyal she'll be when you gain her trust. It's hard not to fall in love with this pretty girl, her one brown, and one sky blue eyes, and her little spotted ears are so endearing. Give another shot to this love bug and take the pain off losing her away, knowing she'll be cared for properly.

Crouton is a dog who is timid around humans but fearless when it comes to following his senses! As a nervous pup, he is a clever boy will dig under fences if left unsupervised and spends his indoor time searching for exits to the outdoors when he is not napping or warming human laps. Crouton is looking for a quiet home that will be able to keep him safe, build trust, and provide ample time for lap naps.OTHER PETS: Crouton greeted other dogs appropriately, disengaged and continued looking for ways outside. He may warm to another dog in time but he is perfectly happy being the sole receipient of affection from his trusted humans. Crouton should meet any dogs he would be living with prior to adoption. [Disinterested in Other Dogs]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone who has experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn, and keeping escape artist dogs safe while allowing Crouton to set the pace of interactions would be Crouton's ideal fit. [Some Experience] KIDS: Crouton enjoys calm quiet time with humans he trusts. He warms quickly to people who let him set the pace of their interactions. We want to set Crouton up for success, so his human family members should be old enough to understand and learn how to interact with him safely. Children and dogs should always be actively supervised when spending time together for everyone's safety. [13+ / Dog Savvy (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Crouton enjoys exploring outside; he is very curious and walks well on leash but WILL dig under fences if left unsupervised. Crouton would likely do well with regular neighborhood walks, potentially longer ones as long as care is taken to ensure he does not overexhert himself. A combination of mental enrichment, such as puzzle toys and scent games, and regular exercise, are the best ways to meet his needs. Play may not happen right away but can be developed as he decompresses.
