At around 3 years old, this sweet dachshund mix has a calm, low-energy personality and loves nothing more than being petted and spending time with his people. He is perfectly content relaxing in the shade, hanging out on the couch, or simply following you from room to room. Shorty gets along wonderfully with other dogs and with cats, including kittens. While he enjoys the company of other animals, he doesn't depend on them and would be just as happy as your one and only pet. He is well past the puppy chaos and has the easygoing personality of a dog who just wants to be loved and included. If you're looking for a loyal companion who won't demand much beyond some affection and a comfortable place to nap, Shorty may be exactly who you've been waiting for. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance. I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with 3 other dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. Rock came to us from a partnered shelter where he was sadly at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space—but thankfully, he got the chance he deserved. Born around June 13, 2025, Rock is a terrier/dachshund mix with an adorable long body and a soft, submissive personality.
