WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌲💛 Meet Forest — The Puggle With the Snuggles! 💛🌲 (2 Years • ~25 lbs • Certified Good Boy) If you’ve been wishing for a dog who’s equal parts adorable, cheerful, snuggly, and slightly goofy in the BEST possible way… congratulations, you’ve just found Forest — the Puggle who brings sunshine, tail wags, and pure serotonin everywhere he goes. At 2 years old and around 25 pounds, Forest is the perfect “I fit anywhere” size — couch? Yes. Car seat? Absolutely. Your lap even when you just sat down with hot coffee? Oh, 100%. This fawn-colored sweetheart has a warm expression that could melt the polar ice caps and a personality that says, “Hi, I love you, what’s your name, do you have snacks?” He’s friendly, charming, and convinced that every human and dog he meets is his new best friend. 🐾 Forest’s Favorite Things: • Walks where he can sniff 92,000 smells per minute • Treats (your fingers may or may not become “bonus treats”) • Being included in anything — chores, TV time, folding laundry, life decisions • Wagging his whole butt, not just the tail • Making people laugh with his joyful Puggle antics Forest is housebroken with the help of a dog door, kennel trained, and an easy, happy companion in the home. He floats through life with the spirit of a tiny golden retriever trapped in a Puggle body. He recently completed heartworm treatment (fast-kill, immiticide), and he’s expected to test negative at his next check — meaning he’s ready for his fresh start, his forever family, and hopefully a spot on your couch. He’s great with other dogs and wonderful with kids! Cats? Well… they’re still a mystery, but at his size and temperament, he’s likely to be more “confused friend” than “villain.” 🌟 Forest’s Stats: • 2-year-old Pug/Beagle mix • 25 lbs of happy wiggles • Housebroken + kennel trained • Friendly, playful, loyal, and easygoing • HW treated and ready for a healthy future • Good with dogs + kids • Cat status: to be determined (he's optimistic) He is currently with a neighboring rescue partner — we work together to save as many lives as we can — and we will happily pull him into Hay Dude Rescue to complete his adoption. If you’re searching for a dog who lights up every room, fills your life with laughter, and gives the BEST “I missed you for 10 whole minutes” greetings… Forest is ready to join your family and your heart. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Forest is ready to start his new chapter full of love, joy, and so many treats. 🐾💛

Story
Frosty visited NEVCCC for a bit before coming to TJO to finish healing; he was unable to control his body temperature and could only eat very small portions so as to not get sick. Frosty loves attention from humans, dislikes other dogs, and can be a loud persistent barker (so he probably would not do well in an apartment.) This little snowman is looking for a home where he can be the sole object of affection and attention.OTHER PETS: Frosty is reactive to other dogs, he'll bark and lunge to create distance from them, he will be adopted as an only pet. [Should be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Frosty's best fit would be with someone who understands and respects the necessity of ensuring his care plan is followed while he continues convalescing. Experience with positive reinforcement and a medically fragile dog would be ideal. [Some Experience]KIDS: Frosty is comfortable with handling, has not exhibited resource guarding while at TJO, and becomes playful in a safe environment. Frosty would likely get along with most humans and should meet any minor humans he would be living with prior to adoption. [10+ / Dog Savvy (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Frosty has been increasingly active as his health improves so may even end up having a higher energy level than we expected. He would do best with a combination of walks and play sessions that keep him engaged and active as he needs - regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment such as food puzzles and games will help meet his needs. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Intensive]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Frosty bond with his new owner as well as help him learn new skills and possibly some tricks. He may need extra patience as he begins his journey and slowly transitions to a new home. [Moderate] GROOMING: [Minimal] December 6, 2025, 5:53 pm

Story
Candy just as sweet as her name and decidedly less sticky than any sort of melted confection you would find forgotten in a pocket. She enjoys attention from humans but also enjoys window watching and exploring with her nose, entertaining herself between naps. Candy is looking for a home where she can continue her calm existence with some humans who would share their love and lots of pets with her.OTHER PETS: Candy is neutral with other dogs, remaining calm and relaxed around them and not interacting much. She would likely do well with dogs of similar temperment, and should meet any dog she would be living with prior to adoption. [Case by Case (calm dogs) (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog] KIDS: Candy enjoys attention from humans and is comfortable with handling, she would likely get along with any human who didn't overwhelm her. Her best fit would be in a home that was calm or only moderately busy with a calm place Candy could call her own. Candy should meet any minor humans she would be living with prior to adoption. [Likely (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Candy explores the world around her with her nose and does well walking on a leash. She will run with people, has a little interest in toys, and enjoys window watching. Neighborhood walks would help keep Candy active and healthy as she ages. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Candy bond with her new owner as well as ensuring she knows her behavorial expectations. Story
OTHER PETS: Lindsay is dog reactive (meaning she will bark and lunge to create space) when she feels threatened. Because of this, she would do best as the only pet in the home, where she can feel safe and secure without the stress of animal interactions. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Lindsay would do best with someone that has experience with handling a dog-reactive dog and the management that she may require. [Some Experience]KIDS: Lindsay is a resource guarder around her food and high-value treats, so she needs to be left alone while she eats her meals or while she's enjoying any kind of treat in order to avoid creating unnecessary conflict. She would do best in a home with no children and adults that can understand how to interact with her, and when to leave her alone. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lindsay loves to play and run around with her favorite people! She'll eagerly jump up into your lap for attention, and then jump off to chase after a ball at the drop of a hat. She's got a high energy level for a smaller dog, and will do best with someone that can keep up with her activity while also providing her with necessary mental enrichment to keep her healthy and happy. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Lindsay is still at the beginning of her training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Lindsay not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate]GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding within the home. [Minimal]December 7, 2025, 6:06 pm
