Story
Meet Carmella: the happiest dog you'll ever meet (seriously, she looks like she's smiling all the time!) 😄🐾
If Carmella ever stars in a movie, it's going to be called "Carmella Smiles." Foster Mom swears she was simply born happy. She wakes up ready to love the world, hand out kisses like they're free samples, and convince every person, dog, and cat she meets to become her new best friend.
Estimated to be around 18 months old (though she acts closer to a year), Carmella is all puppy joy wrapped up in one adorable package. She already comes when called and sits on command... staying seated, however, is another story. She has important things to do, games to play, and people to love!
Her favorite pastime? PLAY. If another dog is willing, Carmella is ready for an all-day playdate. She instantly became best friends with her foster sister, is wonderfully respectful of the resident senior dog (with a little supervision so her enthusiasm doesn't accidentally bowl him over), and has even invented her own games with the resident cat. Basically, if you have four legs, Carmella assumes you're a potential teammate.
When she's not zooming around, she's an Olympic-level snuggler. She loves curling up on the couch, happily sleeps in bed with her people, and also adores her crate, often choosing it on her own for naps or heading there the moment Foster Mom announces, "Bedtime!"
She's house trained, crate trained, has a fantastic appetite, and absolutely lives for fetch, squeaky toys, running, and adventures. She's had a couple of poop accidents while settling into her foster home, but considering the new environment, new routine, and new food, Foster Mom expects those to disappear as she adjusts.
Carmella is looking for a family that can match her zest for life. Another playful dog would be a dream come true, as would active kids or adults who enjoy getting outside and making memories together.
Because she has a big voice (complete with an adorable Husky-style howl), a single-family home would probably suit her best. She'd also love a home where she isn't left alone for long stretches and has room to stretch those happy puppy legs.
If your home could use more laughter, more adventure, more cuddles, and approximately 10,000 kisses a day, Carmella is ready to bring her permanent smile—and probably one to your face, too. 💕🐾

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
