Story
Meet Andy! Born on 2/3/26, this adorable 12 lb. Chihuahua/Dachshund (“chiweenie”) mix is a sweet, gentle puppy with a loving personality and a heart full of affection. He came to Connecticut from Texas with his brother, Arlo, after his mom and some of his siblings were adopted. Now Andy is ready to find a furever family to call his own. Andy has a calmer, easygoing personality and loves spending time with both people and other dogs. He enjoys squeaky toys, playing fetch, exploring outside, and then curling up for snuggles afterward. He’s especially respectful of the senior dogs in his foster home and has a gentle, well-mannered nature for such a young pup. Like any puppy, Andy is still learning house training and leash walking, but he’s very food motivated, smart, and eager to please. He already responds well to commands like “no” and “drop it,” and does wonderfully with gentle correction and consistency. He would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion or an active family ready to continue helping him learn and grow. Andy was born with partial sight in his right eye. That eye took a little longer to open as a newborn and still has some cloudiness, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He gets around wonderfully and enjoys life just like any other happy puppy. Sweet, affectionate, and full of charm, Andy would make an amazing companion for a lucky family looking for a playful best friend with a softer, snuggly side. His adoption fee is $500 and Andy is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered in July when of age so you must return to our vet for that procedure. If you’re interested, please apply to adopt at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Kahlo and Zapato arrived in our care through no fault of their own, along with a few of their siblings, after being rescued from a home environment that simply wasn't fit for pups. Despite a difficult start to life, these two gentle souls have absolutely no mean bones in their tiny bodies. They are sweet, resilient, and ready to find a fresh start in a quiet, loving home where they can truly blossom. Because they lean on each other for comfort and security, Kahlo and Zapato are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Kahlo (The Brave Brother): Kahlo is the more outgoing of the two. While he can be a little shy when meeting new faces, it doesn't take him long to warm up and show his sweet, affectionate side. He acts as the ultimate security blanket for his brother. Zapato (The Sensitive Soul): Zapato is a bit more reserved and is still learning that the world can be a safe, kind place. He takes comfort in his brother’s confidence and needs a little extra time, patience, and gentle reassurance to build trust with humans. Watching Zapato watch Kahlo for cues is incredibly heartwarming. Kahlo shows Zapato that it's okay to trust, and day by day, Zapato’s true, sweet nature shines through a little more. This special pair will bring so much joy, quiet companionship, and love to the right home. To help them thrive, they are looking for: A calm and predictable environment with a gentle daily routine (a busy, hectic household will likely be too overwhelming for Zapato right now). A patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let Zapato progress at his own pace. A home without very young children, given their small size and shy nature. If you have a quiet home and a heart big enough for two incredibly sweet, deserving boys, Kahlo and Zapato are ready to reward your patience with a lifetime of devotion.Adoption Fee $750Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2026, 8:26 pm

Story
Miguel is a charming, active boy who hasn't let life’s hurdles slow him down one bit. Miguel came to us looking for a second chance, and he is tackling his new adventure with a wagging tail and a curious spirit. Miguel is a true explorer at heart. He loves wandering around the yard, taking his time to map out every corner with his nose. While he does have cataracts and doesn't see perfectly, he navigates his surroundings like a pro—he gets around just fine and doesn't let his limited vision keep him from enjoying the great outdoors. Here’s what makes Miguel special: Affectionate: If you’re looking for a way to his heart, back scratches are the magic key! He’ll lean right in and soak up every bit of attention. Social Butterfly: He is an incredibly sweet boy who gets along beautifully with the other pups at the rescue. He’d love a home where he can hang out with friends. Resilient: Despite his past, Miguel is full of life and ready to bring a lot of joy to a lucky family. Miguel is looking for a home where he can feel safe, explore at his own pace, and receive all the back scratches he can handle. If you’re looking for a loyal, easy-going companion, Miguel is ready to meet you!Adoption Fee $Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2026, 8:26 pm

Story
Popeye is one of the sweet pups rescued from a hoarding situation — and while all his siblings have found their forever homes, this gentle boy is still waiting for his happy ending. He may be a little shy at first, but once Popeye learns to trust you, his loving and affectionate side shines through. He’s a true sweetheart who just wants to feel safe, cared for, and part of a family. Popeye is also a quick learner! He’s been working on fun tricks like sit and spin, and with his food motivation, he’s eager to learn so much more. His gentle nature and bright spirit have made him a volunteer favorite here at the rescue.Popeye would prefer to be your one and only pup, though he gets along just fine with well-behaved dogs, and he’d do best in a home with adults or older kids who can help him continue building his confidence. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love — someone who’ll blossom with patience and kindness — Popeye might just be the perfect fit.
