Story
Meet Canelo 🧡 (4 years old) Canelo is a sweet, soulful four-year-old mixed-breed boy with the kindest eyes and a heart to match. He’s affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to his people — whether that’s relaxing at home or going for a nice walk. He gets along well with other animals and children, making him a great fit for a family home. Canelo is fully grown, strong, and confident, but also gentle and attentive. He does best with structure, routine, and positive reinforcement, and once he bonds with you, he’s incredibly devoted. Canelo would thrive in a home that’s looking for a loving, loyal companion and is ready to welcome him as part of the family. He’s searching for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and truly belong. If you’re looking for a dog who will look at you like you’re his whole world — Canelo is your guy.

Story
We found Lucy on a side street by our home in 2020. By the looks of it she was nursing at the time she was found.Took her to the shelter and adopted her within a week. Lucy is such a sweet girl. In 2024 we had a baby and have another dog. Although she does well with the baby, having two dogs is super stressful for me. Walking, feeding and grooming both dogs with the baby has been really overwhelming. Daily coat and teeth brushing, walking twice a day and keeping her active is just impossible for me at the moment. Lucy is a butterball of silliness and loves to cuddle even if you don’t want to lol! She’s estimated 6 years old.We love her so much.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Hello! My name is Gretchen. I'm a native New Yorker; I was adopted from the ASPCA when I was a puppy, and lived with my family until about a month ago when my parent got sick and couldn't care for me anymore. I miss them so much, and I’m still unsettled, but I still have a lot of love to give to my new family! I’ve been in two foster situations since early January. With the first one, I met her boyfriend and her sister. We lived in a studio, which I liked because I could see my foster mom at all times. With the second home, I lived with 3 people. I love meeting people, but I need a second to see if I can trust you. If you give me belly rubs or let me lie across you on the couch, you’re great in my book. I’m quite spooked by other dogs and am reactive. I’m open to training, but my foster parents must be diligent, and I’ll probably do best without dogs around, at least for the foreseeable future. While I’ve enjoyed playing outside in the snow and like to run on leash, ultimately, I am a total homebody, so being back in an apartment with my blankie and humans is amazing. I don't mind staying home alone either! I'll keep the couch warm for you. I want to trust and feel confident, but the only family I’ve known isn't in my life anymore and I’m a bit confused. Don't call me an old dog yet; I'm still strong and sassy and smart! I have a lot of life left in me, and if you're willing to be loyal to me, I'll be the most faithful family member you've ever had.

He enjoys being outside and walks well on the leash; he is house trained. On our walks he has been very friendly to all passing people and dogs. He loves giving kisses, snuggling and having his tummy rubbed. He knows basic commands such as “sit” and “come”. He likes to play with his toy, chew his bone and has been an easy dog to care for and love. Silkie has recovered from recent eye surgery and is feeling great!

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Hi hi! My name is Faith and if you take a chance on me, I will do my very best to be the best puppy I could possibly be! Given that I'm a puppy, let me tell you what I've mastered since coming into foster care. First off I love to sleep, so sleeping in the crate is something I do pretty well with. Sometimes I have my puppy moments when I'll whine a bit but just ignore me and I'll fall asleep pretty quickly-mainly because I don't have the stamina to whine for longer than 10-15 minutes! Because I'm so solid in the crate, I've become a pro at potty training-number 1 AND number 2! Although number 2, I love to do on top of snow piles which is hard to do not, but I'm adjusting. Oh, and I have never had an accident inside my current fosters home! Walking outside, I'm a little all over the place because I'm so curious about the world! However, if you come to the walk with snacks, I'm known to be a pretty good walker and love to be treated for my eye contact. I can usually do a walk for 30 minutes or so before I start to get tired and get overwhelmed! I've mastered the game of fetch and nailed a few cues to help make the game even more efficient. I LOVE learning and pick up on training games really quickly.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Parsley is a very intelligent boy with very clear boundaries. He is independent, and very confident and will knock your socks off with how well he listens. He always wants to learn and has a laundry list of commands that he can follow. Parsley loves to snuggle with a blanket and will bond well with his caregiver. Once bonded, he will allow that person to care for him. Parsely is very sensitive to touch. He's the type of guy that needs to trust you first, then he'll give you his belly.
