Meet Chance – So Full of Hope Abandoned, suffering, and covered in horrible mange... all Chance hoped for was someone to care. Imagine being just a year old, all alone in the world, with no warm bed, no gentle touch, and no one to comfort you when your little body is hurting. Chance didn't understand why he had been abandoned. He only knew he was suffering and needed someone to give him a chance. Thankfully, someone finally did. When Chance was found, he was suffering from horrible mange, and his poor skin needed serious care. It's heartbreaking to think about what this tiny boy endured all alone. But his story didn't end in sadness. He was rescued, received the care he desperately needed, and began his journey toward a happier life. This precious 12-pound boy is steadily healing, and although his skin will continue to recover, his sweet spirit is already shining. Despite everything he's endured, Chance has blossomed into the most wonderful little love bug! We're guessing he's a Chiweenie and Jack Russell Terrier mix, but whatever his mix, he's 12 pounds of pure sweetness! He loves other dogs, cats, and kids, and he's ready to fill a home with happiness. Now, Chance needs one more miracle: a forever family. He deserves to know what it's like to be someone's beloved little companion. To curl up in a cozy bed, receive endless belly rubs, and wake up every morning knowing he's safe and loved. He has already survived so much. Now it's his turn to be cherished. Please don't let Chance's difficult past—or his still-healing skin—keep you from seeing the beautiful soul he is. He's come so far and has so much love left to give! Imagine how much joy 12 little pounds of sweetness could bring into your life! Chance doesn't need a perfect past. **Meet Maple! 🍁🐾** Small in stature, big on sweetness, and sporting the most irresistible little face, Maple is ready to find a family to call her own! Maple is a young, Dachshund-type mix who came to SDBP CT Rescue after being found as a stray and going unclaimed at Animal Control. She became our very first official Animal Control pull, and this little girl has already stolen quite a few hearts! Maple is an incredibly sweet and gentle girl, but she can be shy and timid when meeting new people or encountering unfamiliar situations. Once she begins to feel comfortable and realizes she's safe, her affectionate personality starts to shine through. She's the kind of dog who needs someone willing to earn her trust rather than rush her into situations she isn't quite ready for. **🍁 What we've learned about Maple so far:** Maple seems to enjoy the company of calmer dogs who respect her personal space. She can become uncomfortable when overly energetic or pushy dogs approach her too quickly, so any potential canine siblings would need to be thoughtfully matched and introduced at her pace. She's currently settling into her foster home, where we're continuing to learn more about her personality, preferences, and what makes her feel comfortable. **🏡 Maple's ideal forever home** We're looking for a patient, loving family who understands that building trust takes time. A relatively calm, predictable environment where Maple can settle in, establish a routine, and gain confidence would be wonderful for her. She may do well with another calm, respectful dog, but she could also enjoy being someone's one-and-only little companion. Her compatibility with cats and young children has not yet been established. Most importantly, Maple needs someone who will appreciate her for exactly who she is and give her the time and reassurance she needs to blossom. **❤️ Adoption information** Maple is currently completing her veterinary care and will be spayed before adoption. A sweetheart who LOVES his human and was owner surrender to an LA pound due to many dogs. Quiet and sweet and loving, the fun thing is how he dances when his friends walk in the door. Sleeps in the human bed and is housetrained and happy. He is fearful of some things, and he pants when afraid and is one of our older dogs.

Meet slinky fka Eli! Eli is a sweet, laid-back about 8-9 year-old little dachshund mix looking for his forever home through absolutely no fault of his own. He came to us from an over crowded shelter where he spent a couple months being nursed back to health by a loving foster home. He has blossomed into a happy, loving companion and continues to carry that same personality in his RDR foster home. Slinky fka Eli is housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, knows his basic commands, and has wonderful house manners. He loves being with his people, getting attention and belly rubs, and curling up on a dog bed. He has done wonderfully with other dogs and cats. He is also crate trained. This little guy is truly a wonderful companion—affectionate, easygoing, smart, and eager to please. He deserves a forever family who will love him as much as his foster family does.
