Big smile. Little guy. Excellent taste in people. And a standing reservation at the passenger-seat window.
Meet Teddy, a 10-month-old Dachshund mix who believes life is better with friends, car rides, a cozy couch, and someone to love. He’s a doggie-daycare regular who genuinely enjoys hanging out with other dogs, knows his commands, and is ready to put his kennel days behind him.
Teddy has the smile of a dog who thinks every day is going to be a great day. And honestly? We’d love to help him make that happen.
This handsome boy has already had a couple of false starts, through no fault of his own. He was adopted as a puppy, but his previous home became a stressful environment for him, and he developed a significant fear of one member of the household. Despite efforts to help him adjust, it ultimately wasn't the right fit, and Teddy is back with us looking for a home where he can feel safe and settle in for good.
Here's the important part: Teddy has plenty of wonderful dog to him. He just needs the right environment to let it shine.
When Teddy is comfortable, he's a happy, social, affectionate young guy. He loves other dogs and heads off to doggie daycare to spend time with his canine buddies. He enjoys car rides, likes being around his people, and wants to be part of whatever is going on.
Going somewhere? Teddy's interested.
Taking a ride? He's ready.
Hanging out on the couch? He can make that work, too.
He’s still young, with plenty of life ahead of him and lots more to learn. He knows his commands and is kennel trained, so he already has a few useful life skills under his belt. Now he needs someone willing to help him build confidence at his own pace.
Teddy would do best in a calmer home with a patient, kind person who understands that trust isn't something you can rush. He needs time to settle in, learn his new routine, and feel secure. A home without the kind of stress that overwhelmed him before will give him the best chance to show off that big personality and bigger smile.
He also enjoys the company of other dogs, so a compatible canine friend could be a lovely bonus.
Teddy isn't looking for a perfect person. He's looking for a person who will give him the time and understanding he needs to feel at home.
In return, you get a funny, loving, dog-friendly little sidekick who may well appoint himself your official copilot, couch companion, and supervisor of all household activities.
At just 10 months old, Teddy deserves to grow up knowing that home means forever. No more starting over. No more wondering where he belongs.

Teddy is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and kennel trained.
