Story
Oh my dog! Can she get any cuter? The shelter put out a last minute plea to rescues asking if they had any room to add just one more small pup to their pull. Luckily we have an awesome foster network and they saved that little life, which happens to go by Rosey. At 5 years old and 20lbs you may think this Dachshund/Beagle mix would be overlooked strolling alongside the road, but Rosey is not one to be missed. Her cute little trot exudes confidence and once she is comfortable with you it is something you will see a lot of. Rosey adapted quite quickly to her foster home and took an immediate liking to the smaller pups in the home. She likes to play with them, but tennis balls are by far her favorite playtime companion. This girl will zip around the yard with her little legs scurrying and Beagle tail wagging. She is starting to carry around stuffed animal and show interest in other toys, but fetch is by far her favorite theme to play. Despite being on the smaller side Rosey is not a lap dog. Although she is not high strung she certainly needs a decent amount of playtime. If you think you could be this cutie’s forever family email us today jonesm4318@hotmail.com

Story
Charming CHAMP is a middle-aged guy who likes mellow walks and quiet time with his human. He LOVES to snuggle and at 15 lbs he fits wonderfully in a lap. We estimate him to be a Dachshund / Terrier mix and about 7-9 years old. He would do best in a quiet household without children or other pets. Champ can be very protective of his people and home, so he would prefer to be your one and only - no other pets or children. Any interested applicants will need to come to the shelter to spend some time with him before adoption to understand his behaviors and how to best support him to have a happy home. The volunteers at ARF love him to bits and know he will be a wonderful buddy for the right person!

At just 27 pounds, Fred is a short legged bundle of sweetness, smartness, and affection. He is incredibly friendly and loves to meet new people and dogs of all sizes. Fred is a cuddle bug and a wiggle butt - he loves nothing more than snuggling up to his favorite humans and wagging his tail with excitement. A perfect companion, our Fred is a pleasure to work with, walk with, and watch TV with. His behavior in the house is impeccable. Fred has been in a loving foster home with other dogs and kids, and interacts wonderfully with all. Fred would do best in a home with another playful dog to romp around with. Story
*Name: Ophelia *Age: 2-3 years old *Current Weight: 11 lbs  *Adoption fee: $475  Ophelia’s story is one of quiet strength and resilience. This beautiful mama survived life on the streets, raising her puppies all on her own before being rescued. She’s been through so much, yet her gentle spirit has never wavered. Ophelia recently underwent FHO surgery (to help repair her hip) and is recovering wonderfully. Through it all, she’s shown nothing but patience, sweetness, and a heart full of love. She can be a little timid at first, but once she feels safe, Ophelia blossoms into the most affectionate companion. She absolutely adores her people and would love nothing more than to curl up beside them for snuggles. While she prefers the company of humans over dogs, she is fine being around other pups who respect her space. Ophelia has given so much of herself as a mama—now it’s her turn to be cared for, cherished, and spoiled. Story
Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying.   • Energy level: medium • Potty training: pads • Fenced yard: preferred but not required • Shared walls: suitable • People: all • Dogs: all • Other: diabetic - requires insulin shots twice daily   Overview   Looking for a sweet cuddle companion who will melt your heart? Coco (aka Coco Puff) might be the loving girl you’ve been searching for.   Coco is an 11-year-old Dachshund mix, with a heart full of love and a gentle soul. This beautiful, black-coated lady weighs about 20 lbs and came to Little Paws when her owner was going through a life-changing event and couldn’t care for all her dogs. Despite the huge changes in her life, Coco remains an optimistic and affectionate companion.   Environment   Coco is a medium-energy girl who enjoys short walks and playtime but is equally content relaxing at home. She’d appreciate a fenced yard to explore safely, though it’s not necessary. This sweet girl is very independent and does wonderfully when left alone—she’s perfectly content to entertain herself. Coco is working on her leash manners and she doesn’t always pull. She likes to lead unless she gets excited and sees another dog or person to say hello. She will let you know when she must go outside. Pee pads are used when left alone & overnight. She doesn’t need crate training as she’s perfectly content and well-behaved with free access to the house.   Pets & People   Coco is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people on walks and greeting guests in the home. She’s never shown aggression and is always curious to say hello to strangers. With other dogs, she’s generally wonderful, though she may occasionally grumble if surprised when she’s settled comfortably on the couch—she just likes her personal space respected! She’s good with food and treats, eating quickly but taking treats gently when reminded to be “nice.”   Health   Coco is diabetic and requires insulin shots twice daily. With proper management, diabetic dogs can live full, happy lives, and Coco is proof of that! She’ll just need an adopter committed to her medical routine and regular vet care.   Location   Coco is available for adoption from Baltimore, MD. Please email megs0567@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Coco is $250.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 8:29 am
