This poor little guy was found stray with a broken leg. It has been surgically repaired, and he is healing well. He is a very nice little dog, thought to be around 18 years old but has spirit and love to give. He is quiet and clean and would be a great senior dog for someone who wants to help. And he sees and hears and loves to explore.

Macy is an adorable 2½-year-old, 8-pound female Chihuahua/Dachshund (Chiweenie) mix—at least that’s our best guess! What we know for sure is that she’s absolutely charming and full of personality. This little girl is smart, active, and fun-loving. She thrives in a lively environment and would do best in a home with another active dog to play with and learn from. Macy enjoys staying busy, exploring her surroundings, and being part of the action. Macy is great with other dogs and truly loves being around her people. She bonds closely and wants to be included in daily life—whether that’s playtime, walks, or just hanging out together. She’s currently working on her housebreaking and is making progress with consistency and routine. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic companion who will keep you smiling and fit right into an active household, Macy might be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring love, fun, and a little sass into her forever home 🐾💖

Rex the Chiweenie is back on the market 😔 Unfortunately he had some separation anxiety and didn’t do well living as an only dog… so definitely needs another doggie buddy in the household this time around and someone home more often than not. He’s just over a year old, an insecure nervous little baby, nervous at first with strangers, but bonds and warms up quickly and then is a silly happy playful puppy, a lot of fun. He loves playing with his doggie friends, is still working on housebreaking and will need some patience with that but learning from following his doggie friends. He’s only 10lbs and we were told a chiweenie, but we could see some min pin or Jack Russell in there too and he has a cute little half-tail like a terrier. Rex is neutered, updated on shots, and ready to find the right forever home. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet him in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
