**PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT WHEN REQUESTING AN APPLICATION!!** 4-16-26: "My FHO surgery (see below) was a success--I am kind of out of it right now, but I have pain meds that are helping! I do have to wear the "Cone of Shame" for a few days, so I don't mess with my incision, but I am resting comfortably. I can't wait till I feel better and can try out my new improved "Bionic Hip!!" 3-25-26: "My pre-surgery consultation with surgeon has been set up for April 9th. From there, we will obtain surgery date!!" 3-5-26: "Hello everyone, my name is TEDDY, and I am ready to come live with you! I am a Chihuahua Dachshund mix (Chiweenie), at about 2 to 3 years old, 14 pounds, fully vetted, heartworm negative and micro chipped! I have come to this great rescue after I ended up at the local shelter when my owner passed away, and the authorities could not locate any family that would want me. Well, my Foster Mom saw me on the list, and here I am! I am such a happy, happy boy, with a tail that wags nonstop--I love to play with the other dogs in my foster home, am great in my crate, and my manners are that of a true gentleman! I do have to have surgery for a dislocated hip that I have had for a while--my owner never had me treated for it, but this rescue is stepping up to help me! My bloodwork has come back great, so they will be scheduling a FHO, a replacement of the ball of my hip joint. It does not seem to affect me in any way, but I am getting it fixed to be the best boy I can be! Do I sound like a guy you'd love to add to your life? We got Prince from the animal shelter. He was a puppy when we got him 3 years ago. He had severe anxiety when we got him. He has slowly come out of it but he does have anxious moments when its something he does not understand or know what it is. In those moments he tends to need extra love and can be very clingy. He is very shy around children until hew gets familiar with them. In his happy mode he is very energetic, loves to play catch, he loves toys. He loves paper and things he can chew on so he has to be monitored with that. He eats hard dog food but prefers the soft food more. Anything pertaining to belly rubs, head scratches, etc. he enjoys so much. He has developed this run that looks like a deer galloping. He loves outside more warmer weather of course. He understand basic commands. Sometimes he will let us know he has to go potty most times we just take him out a few minutes after he eats and random times through the day. He needs a home where people have time for him.

Rosie came to us from a rural county shelter. She was surrendered to them after being found in a Walmart parking lot. She is approximately 1 year old, already spayed, dachshund mix. Rosie weighs about 24 lbs and is up to date on all vaccines. Rosie's ideal household would be one with lots of love and attention. Rosie loves to use her nose to sniff around outside and is housebroken. She is content cuddling next to you on the couch or going for an afternoon stroll. Rosie's current foster reports that she is house trained and will go to the door when she needs to relieve herself. The foster home that Rosie is currently in has both dogs and cats. Rosie can be timid when meeting new people and new animals. She warms up quickly with pets and treats.
