**PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT WHEN REQUESTING AN APPLICATION!!** 3-25-26: "My presurgery consultation with surgeon has been set up for April 9th. From there, we will obtain surgery date!!" 3-5-26: "Hello everyone, my name is TEDDY, and I am ready to come live with you! I am a Chihuahua Dachshund mix (Chiweenie), at about 2 to 3 years old, 14 pounds, fully vetted, heartworm negative and micro chipped! I have come to this great rescue after I ended up at the local shelter when my owner passed away, and the authorities could not locate any family that would want me. Well, my Foster Mom saw me on the list, and here I am! I am such a happy, happy boy, with a tail that wags nonstop--I love to play with the other dogs in my foster home, am great in my crate, and my manners are that of a true gentleman! I do have to have surgery for a dislocated hip that I have had for a while--my owner never had me treated for it, but this rescue is stepping up to help me! My bloodwork has come back great, so they will be scheduling a FHO, a replacement of the ball of my hip joint. It does not seem to affect me in any way, but I am getting it fixed to be the best boy I can be! Do I sound like a guy you'd love to add to your life? Story
Ham was born in Zebulon NC on September 29th, 2022. He was born in a litter of about 7/8, his dad was an American bulldog and mom was half husky and half chocolate lab. He is super sweet and gentle most times— he is high energy and I have not been able to meet his needs in that aspect with my lifestyle. I believe he needs more time outside to run free, I love him a lot and he has lots of toys and everything he needs. I try my best but I commute an hour for work, I live in a small apartment, and am not home often. He has had issues where he has bitten me twice when he was younger, since we have been to training. He does jump on people but I may also just not be assertive enough. I am about to start my masters in school while working full time still and I know it will be hard, I would be willing to re-home to someone who has outdoor space and more time for him. I have not had him around lots of dogs or kids so I am not sure how he would behave. He has a lot of energy but is a good boy.
