Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Cindy Lou! Born around November 8, 2024, this sweet Dachshund mix weighs just 14 pounds—the perfect size for cuddles and companionship. Cindy Lou came to us with her sister Wendy after their previous owner had to move and couldn’t take them along. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Petsmart employee stepped in and asked for help.  Cindy Lou was adopted, but was returned after five months thru no fault of her own.  The family loved her, but they had a small child they needed their undivided attention.  So Cindy Lou need to find a new forever home of her own! Cindy Lou is a toy-loving, dog-friendly girl who absolutely loves attention. Whether it's playtime or cuddle time, she’s happiest when she’s around people and other pups. With her loving personality and bright spirit, she’ll make a wonderful addition to any home. Her adoption fee is $300, and you can apply to meet this little love at www.adoggie4you.org. Give Cindy Lou the second chance she deserves—you’ll gain a loyal friend for life. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2025, 8:41 am

Story
We adopted Lumi at Hill Country SPCA about a month ago. She is 100% full of life. She absolutely loves people, playing, water, fetch, tug-of-war, and eating! She didn't come to us with manners, but we've been working with her quite a bit. She knows how to sit now, and she loves to snuggle. She's a lap dog all the way, and she will thank you with kisses. We have a kennel for her which she sleeps in at night, a sweater for the cold months, and we have been working with her with a training collar. She responds well to the beeping. Lumi is about a year old. She still seems very puppy like with her energy. She gets along well with our other small dog, but likes to steal the show. She's an attention hog for sure. She is so loving, and sweet, but she likes to chew on stuff. Lot's of enrichment toys will be necessary. She likes the rope toy we bought her, and peanut butter inside her rubber ball. She loves going on walks, but needs some work with pulling on the lead.

Story
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Rescue Dachshunds.  Look around and read their bios.  Find a few whose personality seems to fit well.  Consider one of our Well Seasoned Seniors who are truly wonderful and have so much to offer.  Need help finding the best fit?  We'll help with that too.  Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page.  NOTE:   Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only    Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Bella Hope! This 12-year-old chiweenie is a pint-sized bundle of joy with the biggest ears and eyes that melt your heart! We think when she gives us the “stare” she’s just trying to hypnotize us to give her extra treats! She has the softest, quirkiest quack of a bark! She loves to burrow under ALL the blankets and occasionally serenades us with the cutest little snores during her beauty sleep. Bella does wear a diaper held up by suspenders because, let’s face it, her little bohiney is just too petite! After several vet visits and extensive bloodwork for diabetes, Cushing’s, and even kidney and bladder issues, there is nothing medically wrong with her. We suspect her potty-training issues are more neurological due to the fact her first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. But fear not, the diapers are easy to change, come in a lot of fun colors, and don’t bother her one bit! She zips around like a champ! Please consider giving this precious little girl a home. She is very loving, cuddly, easy-going, and overall simply a joy to be around! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Meet Sydney! 🌼 This beautiful 1-year-old, 11-pound long-haired dachshund mix has had such an inspiring transformation since arriving at the rescue. When she first came in, Sydney was timid and unsure, keeping to herself and watching the world from a distance. But with time, gentle care, and patient encouragement… she blossomed. Now? Sydney is a total lovebug! 💖 She seeks out attention, enjoys being snuggled, and happily greets the people she trusts. Her confidence grows more every day, and she’s showing us just how sweet and affectionate she truly is. Sydney absolutely adores other dogs and will thrive in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion to show her the ropes. She’s especially fond of our boy Muggle — they make quite the cute pair! If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet girl who’s ready to keep growing in a loving home, Sydney might just be the perfect match.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟 Meet Gypsy – “Half the height, double the fun” 🌟 Gypsy is a 2-year-old, 28-pound sweetheart with Cattle Dog coloring and Basset Hound legs—aka the ultimate “off-road edition.” She may be a low rider, but don’t let those short legs fool you…this girl is built for adventure! Gypsy loves her walks, is getting better and better on leash, and would make a fantastic hiking buddy. When she’s not scouting for squirrels (her favorite hobby), she’s happily following her person around the yard, supervising all outdoor projects like the best little forewoman on four paws. She’s playful (sometimes with toys, sometimes with your shoelaces), great with people, and does well with other dogs. Cats are still an unknown, but given her love for squirrel-chasing, they may prefer she keeps her fan club elsewhere. ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ Loves the great outdoors ✅ House & crate trained ✅ The perfect mix of sass, spunk, and snuggles Gypsy is looking for an active family who will appreciate her zest for life, laugh at her low-rider zoomies, and love her for the goofy, loyal, one-of-a-kind pup she is. 🎉 Short legs, big dreams—Gypsy is ready to hit the trails and your couch with equal enthusiasm!
