Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Hi, I’m Zella! ❤️ I’m a 3-year-old, 22-pound Chihuahua/Min Pin mix who’s basically a tiny professional cuddler with a side gig in melting hearts. If you’re looking for a dog who’s 90% sweetness and 10% “I will stare at you until you give me belly rubs,” congratulations — you found her! I get along with basically everyone: dogs, cats, kids, grandparents, the mailman… I’m an equal-opportunity love sponge. My life goal is to be everyone’s favorite little shadow and part-time lap warmer. I’m also shockingly well-behaved for a small dog. I’m house trained like a champ, a dog door expert, and I treat my kennel like a luxury spa. You can actually trust me in the house — I know, I’m basically a unicorn. In short: I’m the gentle, goofy, ridiculously sweet girl who will follow you from room to room, give you the big sparkly eyes, and make you wonder how you ever lived without this much love in a 22-pound package. Ready to bring home your new favorite tiny best friend? I promise I’ll make it worth your while with maximum snuggles and minimal chaos (mostly). 🐾

Story
Animal Information: Lemon is a sweet 4-year-old, 12.5-pound Chihuahua mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray. The shelter environment was understandably overwhelming for her at first, and she spent much of her time curled up and trembling from all the noise and activity. Once staff gave her a chance to get out and decompress, Lemon’s gentle personality began to shine through. Though shy and submissive at first, she’s eager to make friends and warms up with kindness and patience. Lemon is friendly with people, does well with other dogs, and is ready for a fresh start. We’re excited to welcome Lemon to the PNW and help this little girl blossom. Foster Profile: Lemon is a playful and energetic little cutie looking for a new home. She is sweet, shy, and gentle. Lemon loves her crate and is doing great with potty training. She is still learning how to be a dog and needs a home with another resident dog to show her the ropes. Lemon will retreat to her crate around new people and needs an adopter who will help her build confidence and be patient without coddling her. Lemon loves to go for walks, play with stuffies, and is happy to snuggle. Lemon will benefit from a confident handler to show her the world. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microc hip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus Animal Shelter in Modesto, CA. She will be transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 06/11/26 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 24, 2026, 12:26 am

Story
Animal Information: Canelo is a 7lb, 6-month-old Chihuahua mix who came to Animal Control after being surrendered from a home with too many dogs. He ended up at the Stanislaus Animal Shelter and was at risk due to space. One look at that squishy little face and we knew we had to get him out of there! We're excited to welcome this sweet little guy to the PNW and help him find the family he deserves. We can't wait to meet him! Foster Profile: You can’t help but smile when you look at this little guy! He has great character and supplies endless entertainment! Like most young dogs, Canelo can be very “busy”. He is great at self-entertaining whether chewing on a bone, shaking a stuffy, or attempting to get the resident golden retriever to play! Mornings tend to be his most active and making sure the house is puppy proofed (no accessible shoes or socks) has kept him focused on appropriate activities and toys.  Canelo does great in his crate (he sleeps quietly throughout the night) and has been nearly perfect in terms of house training. Impressive for a 6 month old puppy!  It is clear Canelo has not had much leash or life experience. Consistent walks will help him improve quickly. Currently, he is unsure how to react when approaching other walkers and dogs. We will definitely be working on exposure and proper leash behavior while in foster care.  Canelo comes well when called but is definitely challenged by his enthusiasm for…well, everything!  Trying to keep all 4 feet on the ground is tough! He loves to jump and I am continually amazed at his agility! We are working to curb this behavior along with puppy nipping however due to these 2 habits, I would caution applicants with small children/toddlers in the home.  All in all, Canelo is a great puppy and will be a wonderful companion for years to come. His size lends well to both condo and apartment life, but he does love lounging in the yard, enjoying the sunshine and the occasional romp in the grass! Canelo came from a home with other dogs and has done great with my resident golden. A home with another doggy sibling is preferred. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).
