Story
It is with super heavy hearts that my husband and I are needing to re-home our 3 year old male Chiweenie mix, Ollie. He is neutered and up to date with vaccines and flea prevention. He loves other dogs and kids 3+, but cannot live with cats. We are re-homing him due to his strong prey drive and aggression towards our cats that we haven’t been able to train away and he hasn’t grown out of. He needs a fenced yard or to be in an apartment with no yard, as he will try to escape an unfenced yard. We aren’t seeking any re-homing fee; we just want to find him a loving home, ideally with another dog for him to get his energy out with.

Story
Simba is a great little dog however, he has a temper. He gets into moods where he doesn’t want to be picked up or touched and he tries to bite you. He has moments where he plays as well. He would do well with a single person or a couple with no kids with experience. I wouldn’t say he’s aggressive but he has aggressive moments.

Story
Disco is a people loving 7-8yo little guy. His ideal life would be sleeping under a blanket, being on your lap, and dancing around any new person who comes to visit him. He loves people, chasing birds, and being cozy. He has had an adventurous life, but he’s slowing down with age a bit and prefers laying in the sun and being a lap dog. He doesn’t like other stranger dogs, will only consider a home where he will be the only dog in the home. He has lived with a cat his whole life and doesn’t interact with her much at all, she’s kind of his boss, but unsure on how he will be with a new cat friend. Ideally he needs someone who is home most of the time to provide a lap and company and he will be your best friend.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Ernest - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? Can I come home with you?!!

Story
We will be reviewing adoption applications for Hap on April 22nd. Animal Profile:  Hap is an approximately ~14lb,  3-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix that joined us from CA on 12/17.  He was found as a stray and was very scared but he warmed up quickly. He's been kenneled with other dogs. Foster Update: Hap is settling in well and is such a sweetheart. He really just wants to be your best friend. True to his breed mix, Hap bonds hard with his people and wants to be by your side. He is being fostered with another dog in his foster home, and they got along great. Hap has a fairly mellow temperament inside the home. He really enjoys snuggling up, lounging in a cozy dog bed, and hanging out by your side. He is getting much better with his crate manners when home alone, and he will enjoy a kong during his down time in his crate. As a pup who builds a strong bond with his people, Hap really relies on clear leadership and confidence from his humans. He can be a bit insecure/nervous by nature, and having his humans take the lead really helps him feel more relaxed and confident outside of the home. Hap's foster mom has been working hard at teaching Hap a proper heel on leash, place command, in addition to basic obedience. He is absolutely thriving! Hap has even found himself to be an excellent jogging/running partner. Hap would love a forever home that can continue to provide the leadership for him to thrive. He will need to be in an adult-only home, and he would do best with someone who has some past dog experience, or is confident to be able to keep up his training and advocate for his needs. He is such a loving companion that is eager to learn and be your best friend. He is going to make someone extremely happy! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Humane.  They arrive on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 29, 2024, 11:52 am

Story
Animal Profile: Gus is an adorable, ~12lb dachshund/terrier mix who is estimated to be around 4 years old. He was originally rescued from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA and arrived in Seattle in January.  Foster Update: Meet Gus! This sweet guy has been quick to steal the heart of everyone he meets. We are guessing he is a dachshund/terrier mix, with the cutest wiry fur along his back. He has been getting settled into his foster home and doing great. His foster mom shares, "Gus is a sweet, well-mannered gentleman with a playful, curious nature. He’s been settling in quickly and is loving exploring every inch of our house and backyard. Gus is potty trained and he is quiet and content in his crate — in fact we’ve barely heard him make a single peep except to howl along with an ambulance on his way home! He’s a little shy with new people but has warmed up to us in just a few days to the point where he’s now asking for pets and is dying to snuggle on the couch (we won’t let him at this time poor guy!). He likes to do zoomies in our basement when it’s playtime but also is great at settling down on a dog bed in my office when I’m working. I think this little guy is going to be a total socialite once he has really settled in and gained some confidence. Oh and he has yet to turn down a single treat and cleans his bowl every meal, so safe to say he is food motivated!" As Gus has continued to settle in, he has shown some excitement on his leash where he will pull or vocalize at passing dogs/people. His foster family has been working with him on his leash manners, and he has shown great improvement. His forever family will need to feel comfortable to continue to keep up good leash manners with Gus. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at Bakersfield in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 01/31/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 29, 2024, 11:52 am
