How this pet arrived: Mufasa was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 15, 2023. Why this pet is the one for you: Introducing Mufasa, a majestic boy in search of a new place to call home. Mufasa can be a bit conflicted when meeting new people but he has made a set of friends in the shelter who can brush him and handle him! It takes time for new people to get to this level, so he's looking for a patient and understanding adult home with low traffic where he can decompress at his own pace. Once he is comfortable, this boy can be quite the goof ball! Mufasa loves to chase small critters and finds it his duty to walk the perimeter and scan for intruding wildlife. Familiarity with the Chow Chow breed is a must for his new owners, as these dogs have unique characteristics. If you have experience with Chows and are ready to provide a calm and stable environment, Mufasa could be the loyal companion you've been looking for. If there's a resident dog, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure compatibility. Bring the whole family in to meet Mufasa and bring a leash and a martingale collar (or purchase one when you arrive), to take him home! smokey was in Irvine pound t& they were going to kill him because they said he was aggressive He was not. He was scared and protective while incarcerated. The pound scared him by poling him. He was afraid of them all. His owner went to see him and he was a sweet boy. which surprised them. He was being reactive to other dogs on walks, aggressive however he has been in boot camp for a month and that issue has been worked with. He wants to be good boy and he is. In a high kill pound we saved him. He had to do to the et with URI and was treated. He is unsure of people and was wary of them. He went to boot camp to get him rebalanced which he did great.
