He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He does best with a consistent routine and plenty of daily exercise, which helps him stay relaxed and content. He would be happiest with an experienced owner who enjoys walks or other regular activity and can provide structure. He is loyal and affectionate with the people he knows and trusts. At home, he is comfortable meeting guests after seeing his owners welcome them. In public, however, he can be wary of unfamiliar people and does not do well with other dogs, so he would do best as the only pet in a home with someone who understands and can manage these behaviors. The LA city shelter is beyond capacity and is asking for help for dear petite Kaval who came in as a stray. While he has been uncomfortable with some people, he has done well with other dogs per playgroup notes and as seen in multiple video with both males and females, including but not limited to this one: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/B3-BEQNpjJc Kaval is perfect size at only 39 lbs and said to be 1 year old now. He was recently neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. A volunteer told us “when we came to the kennel door he was the sweetest little angel , so gentle and calm “. However, because he has been growling at times, likely out of fear and trust, and or just not feeling well, a chow savvy home is requested. Kaval was also noted as having bloody diarrhea shortly after coming in, which has since resolved with medicine. While he is adoptable, due to his behavior with people, the shelter has now put him on the euthanasia list and needs out asap. Shelter notice just emailed status! "Reason for euthanasia: This dog displays a very stiff body posture and is wary of new people and handling. Additionally, the animal is avoidant and growls when approached. At Risk Category: Y2 Last day to take animal: 8/29/26 Scheduled euthanasia date: 8/30/26 This animal is available for New Hope, adoption or foster." We were also given more detailed behavior and medical notes, which can be shared, and should be requested if interested in adopting or fostering. It is noted he “Walked well on leash, Mingled around the yard very appropriately, no corrections given or taken, ignored assertive intact male puppy trying to push him”. However, it is also noted Kaval “displays a very stiff body posture, is wary of new people, avoidant, and growls when approached.” If you are interested to adopt Kaval in person, and can give him a forever and responsible home he so deserves, please contact the shelter directly by calling the LA City shelter at (888) 452-7381 and ask for his ID. Hello everyone, Meet Osito! He is an adorable one year old husky that was rescued from Palmdale animal shelter. When he first arrived with us, he was scared of everyone and everything, and unfortunately because of this he wasn’t even able to go outside for walks. We slowly but surely gained his trust and after a month of love and reassurance, he finally started to come out of his shell. He is now a VERY playful and energetic pup who loves to be around other dogs. He lives for sniff walks, bike runs, and visits to the park where he loves to run & play with my other foster dogs. Osito would thrive in a loving home with an active family that is willing to continue providing him with the structure & stimulation he needs 🤍
