I love this dog deeply. He has been my world for the past five years. But I have come to accept that I cannot give him the life he truly wants and deserves. What he needs is space, a backyard, a farm, or open land where he can roam freely and be close to nature. What I can offer is a New York City apartment, and that is not enough for him. I am looking for a new home with an experienced dog handler. Inside the house, he is excellent, quiet, gentle, and well-behaved. Outside is where the challenges are. He pulls strongly on the leash, and he can be reactive toward other dogs. It does not happen every time, but it can be unpredictable. He is very cute, truly teddy-bear level. He sheds a lot, so regular grooming is necessary. The adoption fee is $1,000 and negotiable. My priority is finding a serious, capable adopter who can give him the environment and care he needs.

Story
Meet Stella! Homeless at 15 years old after her elderly owners couldn’t care for her any longer, she’s confused and terrified by her whole world being turned upside down. Already a shy skittish dog who enjoyed a quiet life devoted to her people, the shelter and then a multidog foster have all been a complete culture shock for this gentle old soul. She’s not aggressive, just avoidant and takes some time to warm up but we can tell there’s a sweet natured girl in there who just can’t comprehend all the chaos she’s been exposed to lately. She’s never lived with other animals and tries to avoid them but may be ok with another very calm older dog or 2 that just wants to nap on opposite ends of the room with her. She’s overall in good health, a 20lbs fluffy spitz type mix with some blue spots on her tongue that suggest some chow in her and we would guess some Pomeranian, Eskimo, schipperke, or other northern breeds as well to shrink her to a miniature version. She’s very soft and therapeutic to pet and the perfect size, seems to be housebroken and spends most of her time picking soft beds to take her naps on. We would love to get Stella into a nice quiet home ASAP- she’s not getting any younger ⏳ Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Stella in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Bolero was living living in a warm and loving home with cats and dog siblings. He began to feel great and developed a new found energy of joy. His mom had physical restrictions and Bolero was not the "chill" dog she adopted. Bolero experienced safety, trust, confidence, and joy. Bolero was originally from a local Animal Control and was found tied to their building with food and water. He's well mannered, soulful, friendly with all, and loves adventures!!!

Health Condition * Neutered: Complete. * Others: Microchipped, will be retested for bladder stones in January 2026. * Is allergic to chicken (causes itching on the back of ears.) * Received surgery to remove bladder stones. The stones were made up of calcium oxalate, which have a high chance of recurrence. Therefore, consistent care and management is required. * His ear infection is almost cleared up and only requires one type of ear drops now. There’s still some bacteria on his skin but it’s not severe. He’s getting medicated baths once or twice a week. 2.) Rescue Story * Harry came to the city shelter together with his mother, Gahui. They were both adopted through Adogs in 2021 after overcoming a difficult past. Unfortunately, four years later, they have been returned and are now looking for a new family again. 3.) Personality & Habits * With People: Gets scared when strangers reach out their hands. However, if you give him time, he will come up to sniff you and enjoys sticking close to people. Even shows cute affection to those who he’s opened his heart to. Used to live well with a human baby and showed good manners around children. * With Dogs: Lived peacefully with his mother Gahui. Becomes overly excited and wants to jump out of his dog stroller when he sees new dogs because he wants to get closer. * With Cats: Stared at cats when outside in his stroller. * Separation Anxiety: Has rarely been left completely alone, as he is used to staying with a doggy roommate. Tends to rely on other dogs. Doesn’t have any separation anxiety and actually becomes more nervous if other dogs cause trouble without people around. * House Training: Fully house-trained for both indoor and outdoor potty. * Walking on Leash: Walks very well on leash and is patient, waiting for the other dog when out for walks together. May pull slightly when he needs to potty urgently. * Hygiene/Grooming: Accepts baths well on an anti-slip mat. Tends to bite his own toenails, so his nail length should be carefully managed. * Car Sickness: No car sickness. Very calm and well-behaved in the car. * Biting: Doesn’t bite. * Barking: Tends to have a little bit of barking or whining when he wants something. * Likes : Likes soft and fluffy surfaces! * Dislike: Is scared of walking on slippery surfaces like tiles or marble.

With the shelter overcrowded, it was especially difficult for a young pup like Songpyeon to receive proper care. To ensure he wouldn’t spend the week-long Chuseok holidays alone, Adogs quickly stepped in to rescue him. 3⃣ Basic Information ❗️As a puppy, he may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, biting, nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling and barking. ❗️It is difficult to predict his shedding and growth size because his parents are unknown. * With People: Is gentle and so affectionate to people that he exposes his tummy and acts charm whenever seeing them. Hugs the leg of his guardians and clings to them when he wants to play with them. * With Dogs: Got along well peacefully with other dogs at the center. * With Cats: Hasn’t met any cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Stays home alone well. Doesn't stick around people. Plays freely by himself or sometimes asks for playing together. If he can not see the guardians, he tries to find and follows them. * Potty Training: Is good with using potty pads. * Walks: Not confirmed yet because he hasn’t had some walking experience. * Hygiene: Takes a bath nicely and accepts foot cleaning after a quick walk, and toenail trimming. Endures blowing dry although he dislikes a bit. Really hates brushing. * Car Sickness: Does well in the car with no motion sickness. * Nip: Hasn't shown any possessiveness. Does not respond much when he gets touched during meal time. Bites a bit because it is a teething season. * Barking: Hasn’t barked or whined so far. Is generous with many things. * Like: Loves food! Absolutely loves to eat—sometimes a little *too* much. So mealtime supervision is needed. * Dislike: Gets scared of the sound of motorcycles and cars. Fears kennel and refuses to go into the kennel. * Tricks: Knows ‘Sit,’ ‘Paw,’ and ‘Lie down.’ If guardians tell him "No", he stops whatever he was doing and return to them. Responds well when she hears her name called, and started the house training!

She loves people and had been endlessly waiting for a warm, loving touch, but no one came forward to take her home. As the shelter environment was poor and the weather kept getting colder, she seemed unable to endure it any longer—so Adogs stepped in to rescue her urgently. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Loves people and accepts even unfamiliar touches calmly and gently. May be a little shy at first, but she shows interest by wandering nearby. If you sit still, she will trot over, sniff you, and wag her tail. Once she gets comfortable, she may stand on her hind legs to greet you and show her playful side! * With Dogs: Likes other dogs and tends to approach them first. Gets along well with #AdogsKiki at our center. * With Cats: Has not met them yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as she currently lives in a group setting at our center. Will need basic training once she joins a home. * Potty Training: Currently only goes potty outdoors at our center. * Walks: Still needs leash-training practice, but during her rescue, she followed well in the direction guided by the person. * Car Sickness: Did not show signs of motion sickness when transported to our center. * Has never shown any nipping behavior. * Has not shown barking or whining. May need training once she enters a home environment.
