I love this dog deeply. He has been my world for the past five years. But I have come to accept that I cannot give him the life he truly wants and deserves due to my very busy work and social schedule. I am looking for a new home with an experienced dog handler. Inside the house, he is excellent, quiet, gentle, and well-behaved. Outside is where the challenges are. He pulls strongly on the leash, and he can be reactive toward other dogs. It does not happen every time, but on occasion. He is very cute, truly teddy-bear level. He sheds a lot, so regular grooming is necessary. The adoption fee is between $500-$1000 and negotiable. My priority is finding a serious, capable adopter who can give him the environment and care he needs.

Meet Stella! Homeless at 15 years old after her elderly owners couldn’t care for her any longer, she’s confused and terrified by her whole world being turned upside down. Already a shy skittish dog who enjoyed a quiet life devoted to her people, the shelter and then a multidog foster have all been a complete culture shock for this gentle old soul. She’s not aggressive, just avoidant and takes some time to warm up but we can tell there’s a sweet natured girl in there who just can’t comprehend all the chaos she’s been exposed to lately. She’s never lived with other animals and tries to avoid them but may be ok with another very calm older dog or 2 that just wants to nap on opposite ends of the room with her. She’s overall in good health, a 20lbs fluffy spitz type mix with some blue spots on her tongue that suggest some chow in her and we would guess some Pomeranian, Eskimo, schipperke, or other northern breeds as well to shrink her to a miniature version. She’s very soft and therapeutic to pet and the perfect size, seems to be housebroken and spends most of her time picking soft beds to take her naps on. We would love to get Stella into a nice quiet home ASAP- she’s not getting any younger ⏳ Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Stella in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Where are all the Chow lovers? Oji is a diverted placement at NYACC... This means he has an appointment by his owner to be surrendered in February. Remember Me Rescue is  trying to help him so he doesn't end up in a cage at the Shelter or worse..This beautiful five year-old teddy bear is 52 pounds.and is good s strangers, kids ( saying 13 and up). He's a good boy. and  is quiet inside and playful when he is out and about. A big fluffy friendly teddy bear!  Oji will be neutered soon, so we are hoping this will help with his "iffy" reactio to other dogs.  Our Rescue has committed to getting him neutered if we are able to find a good home for him.   His Owner lives in a studio apartment and has started a new job which leaves Oji alone more, and less time for his owner to care for him.  Because of this, he has made the hard decision to find Oji a new home. To prevent Yeongji from spending the winter alone in the harsh shelter environment—exposed to infectious diseases and the cold—Adogs urgently rescued her. 3⃣ Basic Information * With people: Is shy and does not approach people first. As time passes, she gradually opens her heart and begins to playfully interact with people. * With dogs: In unfamiliar environments, she stays close to and relies on Jiyeong, who was rescued with her. Once she becomes comfortable, she approaches other dogs, sniffs them, and plays together. * With cats: Has not met them yet. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as she currently resides at our center. Training will be needed from the beginning in a home environment. * Potty Training: Currently goes potty outdoors at our center. * Walks: Has not yet experienced walks, as she arrived at our center recently. * Car sickness: Has not shown any signs of motion sickness so far. * Has never shown biting behavior. * Whines when being put into or taken out of her kennel.

Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, is undergoing physical rehabilitation for hind limb paralysis, and recovered from periodontitis. * Has restarted physical rehabilitation. Undergoing treatment twice a week. 2.) Rescue Story * Pogeun had stayed at the Gimje City Shelter for a long time. He has a mild and friendly nature with other dogs. He suffered from a ruptured disc that left his hind legs paralyzed, underwent emergency surgery, and fought through a long and difficult rehabilitation. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Is initially shy but becomes incredibly affectionate if you approach him slowly and give him time to greet you. Loves people and enjoys being petted. * With Dogs: Is initially wary of new dogs, but gets along well with other dogs when given time. If other dogs disturb him while he’s resting, he may growl as a warning. * With Cats: Becomes excited when seeing cats and tries to chase them when their movement is quick. Therefore, careful management is required. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as he resides communally at our center. Is fine staying with the other dogs. * Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty. Occasionally makes pee mistakes indoors, especially when becoming excited and having his hind legs tense up, regardless of his will. Has a marking issue indoors and outdoors, so he needs training. * Hygiene: Handles all grooming well, including baths, brushing, nail trimming, toothbrushing, and ear cleaning. Does so well with the hair dryer that he sleeps through it without getting scared. * Walks: Loves and does well on walks but occasionally gets highly excited. Pulls on the leash when excited, but it isn’t severe and can be controlled. Can walk or even run without a support brace. * Car Sickness: Generally rides well in a car, though he may sometimes drool slightly. * Gives a warning signal with a growl when other dogs poke at him without manners, and bites them if they continue to bother him. * Tends to bark when hearing outside noise. * Loves humans the most. Like treats too. * Is scared of stick-like objects. Fears vacuum cleaners, and people or large objects suddenly moving or making big motions.

Rescue Story * There was a parvovirus outbreak at the shelter, and Sori was rescued along with her puppies, Hoonmin, Jeongeum, and Manse. All of her puppies have since been adopted into forever homes. Sori, who was diagnosed with heartworm at the time of rescue, has received full treatment at our center and has made a full recovery. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Is not yet comfortable around people. Trembles with fear when meeting strangers and remains cautious even with familiar people. However, if you approach her gently, she accepts being touched. * With Dogs: Tends to be scared of dogs bigger than her. Prefers calm companionship over active play with dogs she is familiar with. * Separation Anxiety: Doesn't suffer from separation anxiety and can be left alone without issues. In fact, due to her fear of people, she feels more at ease when alone. * Potty Training: Is currently living at our center and only goes potty outdoors. * Hygiene: Is still not used to the sensation of brushing and will flinch and try to run away. Although scared during nail trims, she stays still and behaves well even when nervous. * Walks: Reponds nervously to sudden noises or lots of activity, but in a peaceful park he relaxes, sniffs, relieves herself normally, and even walks calmly behind people. * Car Sickness: May be nervous at first, but eventually settles down and lies calmly during the ride. Occasionally, she may have a potty accident. * Doesn’t bite at all. * Due to her fear of people, she tends to bark when strangers approach or look at her. * Is a structured dog who enjoys having a set routine each day. Eats well without being picky and enjoys all kinds of food. Loves treats and gently takes them from your hand. * Doesn’t enjoy being brushed and dislikes encountering unfamiliar people.
