Meet Rowan! He's ready for his forever home but needs a foster placement first! Rowan's favorite activities include chasing squirrels, playing with toys, pulling out fluff, and rubbing his head and back under your legs—especially when he's nervous. - 3-year-old red male, 75 lbs - Chow experience required - No young children or older folks; he can be mouthy and nippy during playtime - Other dogs are fine as long as they are tolerant of his playful nature - No cats; fenced yard needed; best with a private space to roam rather than leash walks for potty time - Continued training on social skills and mouthiness during play is essential **Rowan is located near Houston, TX. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142. Story
Tikka is a petite Chow with boundless puppy energy and a heart full of sweetness (and check out that cute underbite!). She’s learning quickly how to interact with other dogs, and it’s a joy to see her enthusiasm for play, especially with her foster's pack. Around people, she’s nothing but affectionate and eager to connect. While Tikka has a few quirks, they’re nothing she can’t handle. She’s wary of men, but each day brings small victories as she learns to trust. She has some food-guarding tendencies with dogs (though not with humans), so her foster mom is working on creating a calm and structured environment during mealtime. She’s great on a leash, and her eagerness to please makes her progress both rewarding and exciting to witness. Tikka’s story is one of growth: Her playful personality is shining through as she becomes more confident and socialized. She’s a little spark of joy, and with time, patience, and love, Tikka is well on her way to becoming the amazing dog she’s meant to be. **Tikka is located in College Station, TX. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142. Story
If you would like more information about Coco or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to elizabeth.campbell92@yahoo.com I found Coco at an abandoned house in spring 2023. I had nowhere to take her, so I continued to visit and feed and water her until I had built a shed with a fenced yard. Coco is fixed and up to date on all vaccines. She is heartworm negative. A neighbor of the abandoned house informed me that Coco had been a street dog all her life. She is amazingly friendly and sweet though. She’s a senior girl but she still has A LOT of spunk. Coco is very playful and very loving. She has a hilarious looking underbite and makes the best facial expressions. Her teeth are mostly worn down from her tough life. She has a very thick coat and sheds like the dickens. Her “shake” is like a volleyball spike and she’s ready to show you. I would keep this dog if I could. Coco is a very good girl all around. A cuddle bug. She loves treats. This animal posted is not under the care, custody, or control of Friends For Life and shall at no time be considered the property of Friends For Life. Story
Straight from the chaos of the shelter system to a life filled with belly rubs, pool time, and shared dog beds—Pebbles and Bambi are living proof that rescue works! These 2.5-year-old chow chow girls (each about 50 lbs) are soaking up every moment of safety and comfort in foster care. And while they’re not bonded, they’ve formed a sweet, sisterly connection that's been such a joy to watch. Pebbles (rough coat) is the gentler soul—more reserved but full of heart. She shines in peaceful moments, especially when snuggled up next to Bambi (yes, they always squeeze into the same bed—even with three to choose from!). Bambi (smooth coat) is the confident adventurer. She LOVES the pool, picked up her new routine like a champ, and brings a calm, steady vibe wherever she goes. Crate-trained and always curious, she’s the brave big sister of the pair. While these girls are not cat-friendly, they are 100% kid-approved! Both girls are great with respectful kiddos and would thrive in a loving family home. While we’d love to see them adopted together, they’re absolutely okay going to separate homes—what matters most is the right match for each of them. **Pebbles and Bambi are being fostered in Texas. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142.
