Sampson is a gorgeous 7yo weighing in at around 50lbs. This boy is a total lovebug! He just wants all the pets, chest rubs, and games of fetch he can handle! Sampson LOVES toys. He is still a spry pup who enjoys playing and getting attention. He takes treats gently and is very food motivated, which makes for easy training. Sampson does great on a leash and is a nice walking companion. Sampson prefers to be the only fur baby in the home, so no children, dogs or kitties for this pup. **He also needs a foster home!** **Sampson is located in Willis, TX. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142. Once approved, home visit and reference checks are also required. If you have further questions outside of this listing, please email chowmail.hccc@gmail.com.

Story
Po has been growing some fabulous fur lately! Brushing and scritches are his absolute favorites - he can't get enough! Po's got a playful and quirky side! He has a hilarious game where he zips between your legs, in and out, over and over again. We're not entirely sure what the game is, but it's a riot to watch! Sometimes, we wonder if Po might need glasses. He tends to stare for quite a while when you call him before eventually making his way over. Or maybe he's just on his own schedule! Now, when it comes to squirrels in the yard, Po's got a bit of a prey drive, but we think he's more about protecting his territory than chasing them. He likes to pretend he's the house protector, but deep down, he's a softy and the first to run if things get a little scary. Po is a character for sure, and he's ready to bring a whole lot of joy to your life! Don't miss out on the chance to make this lovable dog a part of your family. **Po is located in North Little Rock, AR. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142. Story
MOCHI Hi, I'm Mochi! My journey began alone in a puddle, extremely wary of humans, and resembling a small, bedraggled wolf. Thankfully, K9 Angels took me in, and my foster mom showed me the gentler side of life with lots of patience, walks, and hot dogs. I've come a long way since then, especially after surgeries for my chronic hip dysplasia. I'm working on strengthening my back legs - every day is leg day for me! I've learned to enjoy gentle touches, but it's essential to understand that I still need time and patience to build trust. Forcing interactions can break my trust, and I may even respond defensively. I am particularly cautious around men, often barking to maintain my space, but I'm slowly learning with the help of treats. Frequent at-home grooming is a must for my beautiful coat, though I still have my limits, especially around my hips and this glorious tail. I get along with all dogs, although my play can be a bit on the rougher side for the littler ones. Cats and other small animals aren't suitable companions for me due to my high prey drive. A yard to call my own would be a dream for me as I love outdoor spaces and may not have the appropriate manners for apartment living due to my alertness to sounds and movements around me. My foster mom thinks I'm the most gorgeous, loveable goofball. I'm fond of following her around, enjoying head scritches, and savoring treats like freeze-dried chicken feet (my favorite). I'm patient and quiet when alone and will calmly nap at the door while I await her return. But don't be fooled, for I am a very young chow chow with lots of energy! Playtime, puzzles, and lots of walks are absolutely essential for my busy chow chow brain. While I wouldn't make a great first dog, I would thrive in a home with someone that is experienced with the chow chow breed and/or working with aloof, fearful behavior. A calm, adult-only environment where my boundaries are respected is paramount. I might not be the easiest dog, but for the right person, I'm going to be the most loyal and loving companion. Mochi is a female Chow/Spitz mix with an estimated date of birth of 02/10/2022.

Story
Hi I’m Oso!!! I am a Rottie-Chow mix.  My name means "bear" in  Spanish. My foster mom says I looked like an old grisly bear and now I am a soft, fluffy, and cuddly teddy bear. My journey is unfolding into a story of healing, hope, love, and the search for a  permanent home with my very own family. The first day of the rest of my life. On 2/2/24 my foster family found me wandering around a gas station. I felt invisible. I know lots of humans saw me asking for help, but they just turned away. I started to wonder if I even existed. Then it happened I realized  a person looking AT me. She was moving her mouth but I couldn’t hear anything. Thankfully she squatted down and was making hand gestures  like  she was actually calling me. I thought “Could it be possible that she actually sees me AND wants me to go to her?“ She seemed friendly, so I starting walking towards her, but it took a minute. I had a very hard time moving. My legs were painfully bound by my dirty and knotted fur. Each step I tried to take hurt terribly. Regardless, I put on my most brave and handsome smile, and kept moving. Secretly, I was worried that when I got closer and she really saw me (and smelled me) she would also turn  away like the others. When I finally got to her, she reached out and touched me. I know by the soft look in her eyes and the gentle touch of her hands I was finally safe. That was the moment I knew I would never have to look back at the life I bravely broke free from and desperately needed to forget.  My past. My skeletal frame covered by heavily matted fur gives  testament of a lifetime of deprivation and heartbreak. My foster mom discovered an old injury, a healed broken rib, that told her of the pains I’ve had to endure. The chain hanging heavily from my neck spoke of the years I spent tied up, only dreaming of running in open fields. It also is proof that I was brave and found the strength to break away  in search of freedom and a life I knew existed and wanted so badly.  I am resilient.  Despite my tribulations, my spirit has never waned. At heart I am youthful, reflecting the playfulness of the puppy I never really got to be. My energy manifests in bursts of joy but is quickly followed by long serene naps.  What makes me truly special, aside from my resilience, is a very unique trait that captures the hearts of those I meet.  One my foster family has fallen in love with from day one. My adorably unforgettable nose and a smile that's all my own! I have cleft lip, but it doesn’t bother me. I think it makes me extra special. My journey as a hearing impaired dog hasn't dampened my spirit; it's a part of what makes me, OSO!  I’m not ashamed, I am proud. I’m HAPPY! Happy all the time!  I have HOPE!  Under the care of my loving foster home, my life has taken a turn for the better. Each day is a step towards recovery, gaining weight, and building the strength that was once stripped from me. My health, once a concern, now shines brightly with a clean bill, including a heartworm-negative status, proving that I am on my path to not just surviving, but thriving.  My dream is simple: a forever home where the grass under my paws and the sun overhead are daily joys. A secure yard for my adventures, and a family that appreciates quiet companionship as much as I do. Though I might not seek out couch cuddles, being by your side, engaged in play or exploration, is where I find my happiness. The family I imagine will understand my journey, offering guidance and strength as I continue to grow in spirit and in health. My ideal human companions will be ready to continue the work of building my confidence and manners, especially as I navigate my newfound interests in toys and the company of other confident dogs. I’m making my mind up about small pup and cats, but I am VERY sure I love to chase squirrels. My foster family said there is perfect home for me, because I’m “the goodest boy ever.”  I am Oso, a survivor, a friend, and a gentle soul seeking a place where I can embrace  being loved and the gift of loving  in return.  My adoption fee is $200 locally in Houston, TX or $550 out of state (includes health certificate and travel fee). I am up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. Fill out an application at https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=ZGFVRHKK March 27, 2024, 11:18 am

Story
Clifford is available for in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs in Texas, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies. They were rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is very sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He is very sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. He needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he is very playful and loves playing. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. Clifford has shown an interest in cats, so he may not be good with them. Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he may be around 2 years old. Clifford is crate-trained, knows how to sit, and walks well on a leash. He rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting inside the vehicle. Clifford is fabulous with nice children. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. We are sure he was abused by whoever had him before. Clifford does need work with housetraining (sure he has never been in a house before) and could probably use other gentle obedience training. We want Clifford to be in the house as a loved member of the family. He needs to be walked on a leash and would like a securely fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and they are now dead. He is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would love Clifford to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both in-state or out-of-state applications. Clifford has a $250 in-state adoption fee. His $500 out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport, and he can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Clifford is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this wonderful boy.
